A/N - We are almost there. Hope everyone is still having fun with the story. These last ten chapters were the most fun to write. I just hope I did them justice.

Railman - Ralph is in store for a good surprise. We are so close to the big day. But first...Queen Dineen needs to make another appearance. Hmmm

LouBe - Paige always seems to enjoy making Walter turn to jello doesn't she? I would have loved to see a real conversation between Ralph and his mom like that on the show. The last of the pre-wedding festivities await. Glad you are enjoying it.

Margaret - Being in Tahiti for the wedding experience would be amazing. I say we all hop on a jet and meet them down there. Richard's treat. Ralph will be surprised with what's ahead for him come wedding day. Walter has a few surprises set up for Paige today too. Enjoy

Part 21 Friday July 3, 2018

Walter woke up with his beautiful fiancé comfortably asleep on his chest. He couldn't believe that tomorrow he was going to be married to the woman who single handedly changed everything he ever thought he knew about relationships and family and love. Emotions and feelings? They were distractions to him for his entire life, things that just got in the way of his purpose. Math and science. Science and math. That was why he was here, to push the boundaries as far as he could. How sorely mistaken he was. Enter Paige Dineen.

Megan knew. Knew there was so much more for him to experience. And she knew he was meant to experience it with Paige. All of it. From the first time she met Paige and saw how Walter looked at her and acted around her. She knew they were destined to be together. Forever. Walter knew that wherever she was now, she was smiling down on him and Paige; and Ralph.

His mind wandered to some of the conversations they had and how much he talked to Megan about Paige. Before her, it was always math equations and science lectures and other topics she found boring. But once he met Paige and started telling Megan about her, she saw the changes starting to show instantly. He smiled more. Laughed with her more. Came by to see her more. His whole demeanor started to change. She pointed it all out to him, but he shrugged it off. And now, looking back, he could see how much Paige and her presence in his life changed him; for the better.

Walter laid there, content for another forty five minutes just watching Paige and listening to her sleep. As she finally started to stir around and wake up, he smiled at her as she still wasn't quite awake. He rolled her over and kissed her on the cheek as she stretched her arms. Paige's raspy voice telling him good morning sounded almost too sexy for him to handle. He pulled her closer to him to give her several more kisses along her neck and eventually her lips.

"A girl could get used to waking up like this." Paige told him as she started to return some of the affection Walter was showing her.

"I was hoping maybe we could just spend the day in bed all day today and never get up." Walter playfully told her.

"As fun as that sounds, we do have a wedding tomorrow to get ready for."

"Mmmm, I almost forgot about that." Walter said with a smirk before kissing her one more time, more passionately.

"You better not have. You would be in big trouble, and before you say anything, not the kind of trouble you were in yesterday." Paige told him knowing he was probably going to make a comment about all the trouble he had been getting himself into lately.

Walter rolled over to the nightstand and picked up a small box from the drawer. He handed the wrapped gift to Paige.

"Maybe this can get me out of a little trouble." Walter told her with a smile.

"Walter, you don't need to buy me gifts." Paige told him. "Not that I don't love them. The whales were amazing, weren't they?"

"Yes, they were. Better than those sharks." Walter reminded her.

"Yes, they were." She said with a smile remembering how he risked his life once again for her when they were surrounded by those sharks.

"I don't know a lot about weddings, but I do know the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue part. I'm not much for superstitions as you know, but I want tomorrow to be perfect for you, so I have a few things for you to choose from."

"Walter, what have you done. A few things?" Paige said as she sat up and smiled. This man truly loved and cared for her.

"Well, I wasn't sure if anyone had given you anything yet. So, I came prepared. I am the new president of the planning committee, remember." Walter told her smiling.

"Whatever, nerd." Paige told him as she lowered her head into his shoulder.

"So, anyway, I have four gifts for you, and you can choose as many of them to use as you need."

"Oh my gosh, you are so sweet Walter. I love you so much." She told him with a smile and a kiss. "Can I open this up?"

"Unless you figured out a way for it to open itself." Walter jokingly told her.

"Watch it, or you might be in trouble again. And not the good kind." She kidded back with him.

Paige opened the small box Walter had handed her earlier and found a stunning pair of diamond earrings.

"These have um several reasons why I got them for you. First, they um match your w-wedding ring and I knew th-that they would um l-look beautiful on you. Se-second they are um they are your um bir-birth birthstone. And third, they are um they could um be your um so-something new." Walter told her all of a sudden very nervous.

"Walter, why are you so nervous right now? This was so thoughtful of you. I absolutely love them and I will definitely wear them tomorrow." Paige told him with her eyes glistening from tears and her heart overflowing with joy. "This is so romantic."

Walter had tears starting to cascade down his cheeks. The moment officially catching up with him. He was going to marry the person he cherished more than anything else. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself as Paige hugged him tight.

"I just want to make tomorrow perfect for you."

"Hey, I already told you, as long as you are there and Ralph is there, it will be perfect. That is all I truly need. Anything else that happens tomorrow is just icing on the cake." Paige reassured him.

Walter thanked her both for her words and for calming him down like she always could.

Walter couldn't help himself as he handed Paige her second gift. He had tears in his eyes knowing this was going to be the hardest one to give her. He wasn't nervous this time, just emotional.

"This um bracelet was Megan's from when we grew up. It is one of the only things I have left from her, but she told me that if I ever got my act together and married you, she wanted you to wear this. It can be something old or something blue, but not borrowed. She wanted you to keep it after the wedding so a part of her could also be a part of you." Walter told her through tears.

Paige had tears of her own seeing the emotion that Walter had. She knew how special Megan always was to him and she knew how hard it must have been for him to tell her what he did. But to also know that Megan wanted her to keep her bracelet was also very special to her.

"Walter, of course I will also wear this tomorrow, it's beautiful and it will even go with my dress. Hey, come here for a minute." Paige offered him a hug and held on to him for a long time relishing in the moment with him. "This is so very special to me, and I will treasure this forever."

"Megan always made fun of me about you. She would tell me I was the only person in the world who couldn't see how much I loved you. She was pretty sure you felt the same way about me, and I told her there was no way someone as incredible as you would ever like someone like me. I miss her Paige. I wish she could be here to make fun of me again. Or just to tell me I told you so." Walter told her with tear filled eyes.

"Well with this bracelet, a little part of her will be here. I miss her too. She always had a great attitude and was always smiling. And I don't mind making fun of you sometimes or telling you I told you so." She said smiling at Walter trying to make him laugh.

"Thanks, I needed that." Walter told her knowing he would be able to lean on her for support for the rest of his life.

"After she died, I know I was kind of off for a while, or more off than usual, but knowing that you were there for me when I needed someone helped me more than I think you know. I started to rely on you more and more as time went on, and I got to a point where I didn't know if I would ever be able to make it without you." Walter let her know.

"You'll never have to worry about that again. You are going to be stuck with me forever." Paige told him putting both of her hands up to his face and holding him there for a brief kiss.

"I struggled with this next gift for you. The something borrowed one. I didn't have anything of mine that I could let you borrow, because I feel that anything of mine is already yours. And I also couldn't buy you something just to let you borrow it, that didn't make sense to me either. So, I asked Richard if he had anything I could borrow from him to let you wear if you needed it. He gave me this if you wanted to wear it.

Paige opened up the next box to find a diamond bracelet from Tiffany's that looked like something a movie star would wear to the Oscar's.

"Walter oh my gosh. What have you done. This is from Tiffany's." Paige said almost shocked.

"Who is Tiffany?" Walter asked.

"Walter, not, no, not a person, Tiffany's is a famous jewelry store in New York. They are known for all their beautiful diamonds. And they are also very expensive." Paige told him while looking at the bracelet.

"Do you want to try it on?" Walter asked her.

Paige tried it on and loved it. She wasn't sure if she felt comfortable wearing it though. She told Walter that she would wear it if no one else had something for her to borrow if that was okay.

"This last one is also an old and blue item. I thought it would be efficient to have a couple of items that could be used in multiple ways."

"That was very efficient of you." Paige told him with a smile.

"I had help on this one too. From Ralph actually. We found a box in his room that had some photos of him. We didn't do anything to them, we just got a couple of copies made of them so we could do something with them. I didn't want to mess up any of his photos. He was wearing a blue shirt in a few of them and that is what we used. So, there is the blue part. We also, the same day went to an antique store and found this." Walter told her handing her a small thin box. "Which would be the old part.

Paige opened the box to find a beautiful vintage sterling silver locket inside. She opened the clasp and saw the pictures inside and lost it. Seeing her baby boy in his blue outfit the day he was born and then another from soon after that when he had a bright blue outfit on caught her off guard.

And now it was Walter's turn to hold her and let her know he would always be there for her as well.

"Walter this is so special. The locket is beautiful but the pictures you put in there are priceless to me. Thank you so much." She told him before burying her face in his shoulder again.

"We hoped you would like it; we can pick some different pictures if you want to put in there when we get back home." Walter told her.

"No, they're perfect. Can you help me put it on. I won't ever want to take it off." She told him smiling.

"I did have the locket engraved for you. Ralph hasn't seen it yet, but it will hold a special meaning to him as well."

July 4, 2018 – Our Family's Birthday

Paige read the inscription and melted into her soon to be husband's arms again.

"I didn't expect you to want a picture of me inside, but I did want to commemorate our special day tomorrow for all three of us."

"Walter this is so priceless to me. I love it and I love you." Paige told him as she grabbed a hold of the locket in her hand.

"I love you too Paige."

"I will definitely be wearing this tomorrow too. Maybe we can surprise Ralph with the inscription after the wedding. And if anyone else has any somethings for me to wear, we can find a way to include them too."

Walter and Paige came out from the bedroom around ten and found Ralph still asleep in his room. They woke him up and then ordered some breakfast with room service. They ate on their back patio that overlooked the ocean.

Everyone got together again for lunch and then they had a quick meeting with the wedding planner to go over the wedding one last time to make sure they were in agreement on how it was going to go.

The afternoon was spent scattered all over the island again. Everyone was to meet back up around eight that night for a get together hosted by the resort. Then Allie and Happy were going to take Paige to a karaoke bar and Walter was relieved to find out by luck of the draw Sylvester was in charge of his bachelor party and not Toby or Cabe. Sylvester set up a guided tour through some of the historic buildings on the island, a quick stop at the karaoke bar the girls would be at and then smore's at a firepit back at the resort. He wanted to make it fun for Ralph as well as Walter. All the bellyaching Toby did fell on deaf ears.

"Queen Dineen, Queen Dineen, Queen Dineen"

The chorus of cheers from the crowd at the karaoke bar went on after every song she got up and sang. Happy and Allie may not have started them, but once the moniker was heard by them, they yelled it and screamed as loud as the rest of the patrons at the bar. The countless drinks that were bought for them probably wasn't helping, but they were having the time of their lives. And no one wanted to go on stage and follow Paige after she sang. So, she gladly put here crown back on and belted out another song.

The guys were having a much more subdued experience. Yawn! The tour guide spoke in a monotone voice the whole hour and forty five minutes, ten hours if you asked Cabe or Toby, pointing out all the features of the different stops along the route. Please make it stop! After the ride was over and they were dropped off downtown the smell of food let them know they all needed a little bite to eat. They grabbed some pizza and then decided it was time to sneak up on the ladies and surprise them before they headed back to the resort to sit around the fire pit. Bor-ring!

"Sly, you have got to be kidding me. That man had to be the most boring person on the planet. This is a bachelor party, not your great grandmother's quilting club meeting. We need to be having some fun. Live a little on the wild side." Toby told him. "Give me something, anything. A trip to the dentist would have been more fun than that."

"I agree with the doc, how about we go to that club right over there for a few minutes, down some drinks, ruffle a few feathers, you know live a little." Cabe told him.

"Yes! Listen to Cabe." Toby reiterated. "Dear lord, listen to the man. He is wise beyond his years."

"Guys, Ralph can't go in the club it wouldn't be right." Sly started. "Besides they have probably never sanitized anything in there."

"I can stay out here with Ralph; you guys can go in." Walter piped in.

"NO, we got to get you a drink 197, it's your last night of freedom." Toby told him. "Hell, a shot of lemonade would be a major upgrade."

They went back and forth before deciding to just go to the karaoke bar and surprise the girls much to the dismay of Toby and Cabe.

"Which one are they in? There are four karaoke bars on this street alone." Toby said throwing his hands up in the air. "We could be on our third round by now. Or Walt's second lap dance."

"Let's just go in this one and if we don't see them, we'll try the next." Sly told them, trying to think rationally.

"I think they are in that one." Ralph said pointing to one across the street a few hundred feet from where they were standing.

"And tell me young grasshopper, how did you figure that out?" Toby asked.

"Listen." Ralph told them.

"Queen Dineen, Queen Dineen"

"There's something I need you guys to do for me." Walter told them suddenly.

"Now we're talkin'." Toby said patting his back. "You need a shot of tequila, lap dance, anything what is it, just tell me. Extra yarn for your quilt."

Walter huddled everyone up and told them his plan.

"You got balls O'Brien. Finally, a little bit of excitement. Count me in." Toby told him. "Time to burn this mother freaker down."

"Ralph, Sly you think you can make this all happen." Walter asked. "I'm counting on you two."

"Consider it done." Sly told him after fist bumping Ralph.

"This is gonna be so cool." Ralph told him.

"Cabe, that badge of yours going to work down here." Walter asked him.

"If not, my foot in their ass will do the trick." Cabe told him agreeing that this was going to be cool.

"Operation 197 is locked and loaded." Ralph told them as they broke their huddle.

"Bout time this quilting bee got a shot of adrenaline." Toby said while looking at Sly.

"CUT THE MUSIC." Toby yelled out as the lights went dark in the bar one by one until it was pitch black.

The crowd started cheering not sure what was happening. And soon the lights starting dancing through the crowd and moving in synchronized motions. The staff at the bar didn't know what was going on.

In the background, Sly and Ralph had taken command of the stage lights and overrode the system to be able to have full control of the displays.

"Ladies and Gentleman, but especially all of the sexy la-dies." Toby started out saying while no one could see who was talking. But the crowd gathered at the establishment was eating it up. Whistling and cheering as he spoke. "Speaking of ladies, do we have any soon to be married ladies up in the hiz ouse."

"Queen Dineen, Queen Dineen" Happy and Allie started out chanting before the rest of the bar joined in.

"Queen Dineen, Queen Dineen." Toby chanted, "Where is this lovely Queen Dineen? Why don't you come on up and have a seat over here next to me."

The lights were still searching through the crowd until they found Paige. Again, causing the crowd to cheer "Queen Dineen, Queen Dineen."

Paige reluctantly got up and went to sit in the chair hoping Happy didn't plan out some sort of embarrassing stunt. Everything else was dark and she couldn't tell it was Toby standing ten feet away from her. And then when Paige saw Happy grab her phone and start recording, she just knew she was about to be totally embarrassed. But when the next sound she heard was his, she lost her absolute freaking mind instead.

If I should stay

I would only be in your way

So I'll go, but I know

I'll think of you every step of the way

Paige knew instantly it was Walter, and she was beside herself and she couldn't sit in her seat another second. She jumped up and wanted to rush the stage but was quickly stopped by two men who crossed their arms and blocked her. Sly and Cabe had huge smiles on their faces as she didn't even recognize them at first as all she wanted was to get to Walter.

Then Ralph hit the pyrotechnic button and the blast happened right in tune with the song.

And I

Will always love you, ooh, I

Will always love y….

By that time Paige had made her way through the two of them and was wrapping herself around Walter as she dragged him to the ground in a huge embrace and started kissing him all over.

The queen was claiming her man. Over and over again. "Queen Dineen. Queen Dineen." God did she love that man.

"Now who wants to buy me a drink." Toby yelled into the microphone before dropping it to another roar from the crowd.

Paige finished singing the song with Walter to another huge ovation. And when Ralph showed up from the back with a huge smile on his face he joined in the hug with his mom and Walter after they finished.

The group stuck around for much longer than anticipated and all took turns singing. They drank for free the rest of the night and when a drunk Toby got up and invited everyone there to the wedding the next day at noon and the reception that night under the fireworks the place erupted once again. It was a good thing the wedding planner for the resort happened to be at the bar taking it all in and was able to make sure the proper accommodations would be made for a karaoke stage to be at the reception. She wanted to see the second act as well.

Around 11:30 Walter and the men took off, can't see the bride the night before the wedding B.S.; he was content to stay with Paige all night and listen to her sing and watch her laugh and have the night of her life. So, one last duet from the two and a few kisses afterward and they said their farewells for twelve hours. Twelve hours, twenty one minutes and seventee.. sixteen seconds, to be exact. Walter was counting. He'd been counting down for quite some time. He told Ralph he would see him in the morning. Ralph had decided to spend the night with his mom and then would meet Walter for breakfast Saturday morning.

"Sly, sorry we never made it back for the fire pit." Walter told him as they were walking back to the resort."I had a lot of fun, Ralph did too."

"I think everyone had a great time at the karaoke bar, that's all I wanted. For you and Ralph to have fun. I can't wait to see his face tomorrow after the wedding. As fun as tonight was, tomorrow is going to be so much better for him. I'm so happy for the three of you guys."

"Thanks brother." Walter told him.

"Whooo, best bachelor party ever. Way to Sly go." Toby hollered to him even though he was five feet away from him. "Way to go pal. You had it under control the whole time buddy. I knew you did. I knew you had it On. Lock. Down. Yes. High Five! And you 197, you are the man! I will always love you too, yes. Whooo. You get married tomorrow! I think I need to puke."
