I've got a thing about writing these guys sitting across from one another it seems!
This has been stuck in my head for a little bit but I've been off fangirling other fandoms, but now I'm fully back on the JackxSam train
Here is just one little thing before I get my Shipmas fic started, just to get me back into the swing of things.
All mistakes are my own - this hasn't been looked at by anyone other than myself.
This was the reason why she preferred to sit next to him at the briefing table when he visited the SGC from Washington, rather than sit across from him.
They had finally been able to be together, live together, get married. They still had work to contend with and Jack was still in Washington for the most part - just with more regular visits to the SGC now that Sam was second in command on the base.
But now, sitting across from him, after not seeing him for over a month this time, she was getting flustered.
In only the way he made her.
He was staring at her with his signature fingers framing his face, elbow on the table look. His muddy brown eyes hardly twitched, focussed clearly on her as General Landry continued on with the briefing.
She always had a mixture of hating and loving this feeling, of those eyes on her at moments like this. He knows that it excites her when he stares at her, his gaze unwavering.
It's like torture.
She had to clear her throat and look down for a second, before she looked up to realise he had never moved at all.
He knew how much she loved that stare. He knew that she wouldn't be able to resist those eyes.
Now all she needed him to do was to stop staring at her like that. She looked away and asked Landry a question, aware that she had not spoken for a minute or two, which was unusual for her during a briefing! She was surprised she could still hear anything that was being said the way his gaze was upon her.
Landry answered quickly, she nodded and then looked back towards him.
Damnit, his stare was still as intense, if not more so.
She shot him a smile, and a slight raise of her eyebrow - all those lessons from Teal'c had paid off - but he just kept staring. He moved his fingers briefly to answer a question that Daniel had asked and then moved them back into place against his cheek.
His eyes though, once again, did not move from her. The look on his face telling her that he's ready to go! He wanted to jump her bones and he knows that this stare is exactly how to achieve that act quickly.
It had become a thing, back in the beginning of their newfound relationship to have these staring episodes, one ear listening out for any questions being fired their way.
Sometimes it was amazing, other times it was a distraction.
Today, it was a distraction.
There was movement as people were getting up from the table. She hadn't even realised that Landry had dismissed the group.
Well, it wasn't hard to miss the dismissal, when your husband won't stop staring at you with those beautiful eyes of his.
Tonight was going to be fun.
I feel like my 'tense' is still off... But I am working on it!
