Hello there, I'm back with the second chapter, a love to last. Those who read and show your support for this new story of mine, I thank you for that. And I hope you can continue to show your support to me.
I'm sorry, I took long to update this chapter and I hope this can make up for my shortcoming. I'm really busy with work but I promise to make it up to you. Since the Christmas holidays are soon clocking in.
I hope you enjoy this chapter
"Sunbae…" Jan Di uttered affectionately at his confession and looked away from him. She wondered for all the time they have been friends, why had she never seen it? Why was he telling her just now how he felt when she wanted to forget that she met the F4? Could he be scared of being alone in his life? Because she was scared of that. She looked into her life and wondered how a daughter of laundry parents could be part of Shinhwa or the Yoons wouldn't it be embarrassing to these men or their family ancestors? She turned her gaze back at him. She could see fear and hope in those caramel eyes of his. She got down on her knees. "Sunbae—"
"Jan Di-ah," he got on his knees with a confused expression. He had no idea that his confession would lead to her kneeling before him. "What are you doing? Why are you kneeling?"
"I'm not qualified to be Mrs. Yoon," she replied emphatically, tears streaming down her face. "I'm nothing, a poor girl's daughter with nothing to give you."
Ji Hoo smiled and ran the back of his hand on her cheeks. He remembered how she had prevented him from wiping her tears away not long ago but he still did it, though. "It doesn't matter what your background is. I don't care if you're a peasant or a wealthy noblewoman," he stated as he firmly held her cheek and raised her eyes to stare at him, "all I care about is making you happy just like how you make me happy"
"Sunbae," she muttered.
"I know you and Gu Jun Pyo broke up because of him and his mother, but I want to promise you that I would protect you and your family, which is also mine, but I also know you still love him, right?"
Jan Di drew back from him and rose to her feet and he followed suit. She wiped her tears and returned her attention to him. "If we both get into medical school, I promise. Let's talk about it again."
He took her hands in his and questioned, "Really Jan Di-ah?"
"Yes," she said confidently, and for the first time in months, she smiled and sobbed again. Ji Hoo drew her close to him and let her cry like he usually did. "How come you've never told me how you really felt?" In between sobbing, she murmured, "I thought you still loved Unnie—"
"I was worried I'd burn you with my feelings," he simply responded, cutting her off. He clung to her even tighter, unwilling to let go. "I'm sorry Jan Di-ah, this is not what I wanted but, in my heart, I couldn't let go of my feelings for you"
"But sunbae-" she started to say something and pull away but Ji Hoo wouldn't let her.
In that moment, Ji Hoo's own emotion overtook him, and he leaned in resolutely to capture her lips.
Time appeared to stand still for the few seconds their lips touched as if they were in their own world. It wasn't long before Jan Di became vividly aware of what was going on. She was kissing Ji Hoo... Again… It didn't feel quite real but to feel his soft lips again on her lips was more than glory in Heaven.
The kiss began soft, but then Ji Hoo's lips slowly parted…Jan Di didn't understand what was happening right now… Why was he kissing her? Didn't they promise to talk about this later? Several tears rolled down their cheeks, while their lips remained locked.
Regardless of her confusion, Jan Di followed suit—tentatively—and allowed her own lips to part, as he deepened their kiss and ran his hands all along her arms. Then, he raised one hand to her hair and tangled his fingers within the strands of her hair. They tasted the saltiness of their kiss but persisted—until the oxygen ran out... After they broke apart, Ji Hoo pulled a breathless Jan Di back and rested his hands once more upon her shoulders. "Jan Di-ah… I want to make you happy"
Meanwhile…
Jun Pyo turned and walked away from the sight before him, clenching his fists so hard at his sides that his knuckles turned white.
…
Gu Jun Pyo stood at the glass door and gazed into Ji Hoo's bedroom. This scene seemed familiar in his eyes. This wasn't the first time to see Jan Di in Ji Hoo's house and much less in his bedroom. The first time was when she was sick and laying in his bed while he looked after her and the second time was when his late grandfather had taken her to live with them and this was the third time.
This time it hurt more than the previous times because Ji Hoo is always the first person in Jan Di's life. First, he was her first love, he also became her first kiss and now he's the first person to propose to her before he could do it.
He wanted to understand his best friend but taking advantage of the girl because she would agree because of the situation was a very wrong plan. He promised himself that he would talk to Jan Di the next day, come back to him and ask her to marry him but for now, he needed to keep away before he could ruin the moment.
He decided to leave
Jan Di was getting ready for bed when Ji Hoo knocked on her bedroom door. She quickly slipped her night robe on and opened the door since she knew they were the only ones in the house. "Can I sleep here tonight?" he asked of her.
"It's all right," she said as she opened the door for him. She made the bed, and they both climbed into it, shut out the lamp, and rested their heads on the pillow. They've been sleeping in the same bed since their grandfather's funeral. But things appeared awkward for both of them at the moment. They were both itching to hold each other, but no one moved. They kept their hands together but kept their distance. They both saw how they were drawing closer to each other as they were more at ease. They could feel their warmth radiating from their bodies and yearned to embrace one another and hold themselves against each other while sleeping, but none of them dared to go too far.
"Otter," he said
"Hm?"
"Can I hold you?" Her heart skipped a beat, but she didn't flinch at his request. Instead, she turned to face him completely and carefully put her head on his pillow, but he had other plans. He brought her close to his chest by wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
…
When Ji Hoo drew Jan Di up against his body, she froze, unsure of what to do with her hands. He adjusted the comforter so that it completely covered them, then wrapped his arm over her back. She had the need to embrace him back while partially on her side, facing him, but she was frightened doing so...because even though she'd hugged Ji Hoo a thousand times, this circumstance was completely different. But it wasn't harmful, was it? Isn't it just a friend soothing a friend? That's all there was to it. She reminded herself of this and tried to concentrate on what they had just discussed.
"Are you all right?" Ji Hoo inquired, evidently noting her anxiety.
Her voice was hardly audible. "Yes."
"Is this...?"
He didn't have to continue since she understood what he was saying. "Yes," she said again, and he embraced her even tighter. Ji Hoo was now gently caressing her back in small, gentle circles. It felt good and made her want to stay there. When she peered up at his face, his eyes were half-closed, and he seemed to be rubbing her back almost instinctively.
Her cheeks began to flush.
She wanted to stay awake and at this moment a little longer, but Ji Hoo's warmth and soothing touch were sending her straight out...
The following morning…
Ji Hoo awoke when the fragrance of his favorite American breakfast reached his nose. He knew Jan Di was cooking but hadn't anticipated her to do it so early in the morning, but he subsequently remembered that she had school to attend. He slid out of her bed and went to shower, then headed into the kitchen to find Jan Di parking food in the food flask. "Good morning, otter,"
"Sunbae," she smiled at him, "Good Morning."
"Are you leaving?" He questioned her as he sat in his usual spot, and Jan Di continued to give him three pancakes, two boiled eggs with steamed veggies, and his favorite coffee, as well as Juice and cocktail fruits.
"Yes, Madam Kang wants to speak with me about my scholarship and my return to school," she said, tossing her bag over her shoulders.
"I can go with you," Ji Hoo stood from his seat at the dinner.
"No, Sunbae," she insisted. "I'm going to have to confront that woman sooner or later."
"We can confront her together," he replied as he took her hand in his own. "Can we please face her together, Jan Di-ah?"
"Sunbae—"
"Let me brush my teeth first," he said, hurrying to the bathroom they always use.
Ji Hoo returned after five minutes to find Jan Di putting the meal he had hardly touched into the fridge. He took his car key and went out of the house with her.
Ji Hoo and Jan Di were sitting in the office with Madam Kang, who was staring at them coldly. She gave Ji Hoo a dissatisfied glance before turning to Jan Di with an evil glare. "Geum Jan Di is not returning to my school," Madam Kang asserted emphatically.
"Despite the fact that I pay her tuition?" Ji Hoo inquired.
"Even if you pay any amount," she said flatly.
Ji Hoo took a step forward and firmly grasped Jan Di's hand. "Then there's nothing to talk about."
"Yoon Ji Hoo, your grandpa Yoon Seok Young—" before she could finish, she was interrupted off by an icy glare from Ji Hoo.
"And one more thing," he continued bitterly, "you have no right to run your mouth on my grandfather's name." "Because you are the one who killed him. You and your greed were responsible for his death—"
"And you're also not qualified to run this family or my business, Hee-Soo," another irritated voice cut Ji Hoo off.
Ji Hoo and Jan Di both turned to face the owner of that strong and angry voice, and it was none other than the head of the Gu family. Secretary Jung was pushing him in his wheelchair.
"Uncle?" Ji Hoo was taken aback. He was puzzled that Gu Jun Pyo's father was still alive, despite the fact that he appeared to be injured. "You're still alive?"
"I am," he said and approached both Ji Hoo and Jan Di with Madam Kang who hadn't expected her husband to be awake after so many months
"Geum Jan Di is the reason why I am here" he explained to them
That was it.
I don't know when I will update this again but I will leave you a sneak peek...
Jun Pyo asks Jan Di to leave everything behind so they could leave together.
Jan Di turns down his request and Ji Hoo and Jan Di have their first date.
Janhoo joins college while Ha Jae Kyung makes her way to Korea to save Shinhwa company due to the News of Madam Kang hiding her husband claiming she's dead.
