It didn't took long for Jasper to slip.

With Bella.

Not that he had expected things to be different. He had gifted her that vervain tea for something. Had been putting it in her drinks too.

He would have given her a bracelet with it too but then the others would had noticed and therefore grow suspicious.

Thus, he kept making her ingest it.

For an entire month before shit hit the fan.

Before his secret came undone in the worst possible way.

He hadn't been able to hunt due the personal hell dancing in his stomach. Had been curled in his bed feeling miserable and frustrated.

Alice had left hunting with Edward after he assured her he would be fine. Carlisle was at work and Emmett was God knows where with Rosalie.

That had left Esme with Bella downstairs.

But then Bella decided to come to him.

Such a fatal mistake.

~~~~~~~~
Bella had heard that Jasper wasn't feeling good and while Edward had told her to not approach him for he wasn't in a good mood she couldn't sit still when her brother was suffering all alone upstairs.
She liked him and he had been less skittish around her ever since their talk. Would bring her tea whenever she was around and while the tea at first tasted gross she had grown to like it.
So taking advantage of Esme being distracted in the kitchen she went upstairs. She had developed a great stealth with that of spending time around vampires and wanting to be able to sneak up on Edward.
When she got to Alice and Jasper's room she was glad to find the door unlocked. She would have knocked but that would have alerted Esme. Upon opening the door she was met with absolute darkness and a bundle on the bed. She closed the door behind her and searched for the light switch across the wall before turning it on.
-Jasper?- She didn't had to fear Esme hearing for she had learnt that once the door was closed no one could hear what was happening in the bedrooms.
The bundle flinched but other than that he didn't react to her voice. She dared to approach the bed and as she sat down the covers shifted and then silver eyes met brown eyes.
That was new. She had seen golden eyes. Orange. Red.
But she had never seen such shade of silver. It was bright and almost too overwhelming to stare at. It raised red flags and made that voice at the back of her head scream at her. That feeling that she hadn't felt in a long time was back.
The one of taking flight.
She used to feel that urge a lot when she first met him. Something about how predatory his eyes looked.
But that glimmer had been disappearing.
Now not so much.
It was back and stronger than ever.
But she crushed that voice down for she had sworn to herself that she wouldn't fear him. She trusted him.
Something caught her attention.
There was a black thin co-web spreading across his cheek.
Odd.
-I thought vampires couldn't get sick.
-I seem to go against the natural order.- Something about his voice felt off and did nothing but raise more red flags.
He seemed to struggle to sit up and Bella reached out to help him.
She should have listened to her instincts.
Should have listened to Edward.
~~~~~~~~~

Jasper's mind had been over the edge and having Bella so close had finished him.

The second she touched him the second adrenaline flared up and he grabbed her arms, yanking her forward. Her shout was like an echo in the distance of his raging thirst. In less than a second he had her straddled beneath him and was diving down. Sinking his fangs into the soft flesh.

But all he got to drink from her was a gulp for the second he swallowed her blood the second he felt his stomach close and his throat grow spikes in the inside. Grinding against each other and overpowering the heat of his thirst as acid flooded his throat and melted it down. It burst a numbness of such level he flinched back with a gasp.

He was too close to the edge and ended up crashing on the floor. His stomach screamed at him and there was nothing he could do to stop the blood he had drank from coming back up. He coughed and gasped. Gripping his stomach as the blazing ball from his throat seemed to rip him apart. Heat was coursing through his veins. Strangling him. He couldn't breathe.

He couldn't breathe.

Someone was talking but he couldn't make the words out. There was panic in the air and he didn't knew if it was his or someone's else's. All he knew is that it made breathing harder and harder and God he couldn't breathe . The world was blazing and he couldn't breathe. He didn't even need to breathe. A whimper caught at the back of his throat.

God it burnt. The world burnt and hurt. Too much. Too much. Fuck.

But even if he was in Hell he knew it.

Bella was safe.

~~~~~~~~~
Bella hadn't expected Jasper to bite her nor for it to not burn as when James bit her.
Much less to get such reaction.
There was something about seeing him throwing up blood and gasping for breath that had shook her to the core. She hadn't even had time to call for Esme for the door had been slammed open in a second.
Bella wasn't sure of what happened after. The rest had been a blur. Alice and Edward had appeared at some point but she wasn't sure.
All she was sure was of one thing.
She had hurt him.
~~~~~~~~~~

-You!- Rosalie snarled as she caught sight of Bella. Red flashing in her vision as she tried to lung for her. Emmett's arms around her waist stopping her.

-Rosalie!- Esme called as Edward came to shield Bella with a silent snarl.

-She wanted to kill him!

-She doesn't even know what he is how the hell could she have wanted to kill him?!- Edward snapped feeling rage surging in.- We didn't even knew what he was!

-She figured our secret out, why not figure his too?!

-You are being irrational!

-Irrational?! You are the one who can't keep that human out of this house! He tried to kill her once why wouldn't she retaliate?!

-Enough!- Esme's voice was harsh and absolute. The commanding tone serving to shut them all up.- Carlisle is with him now. I won't tolerate any fights in this house, you hear me? You are people, not animals, so do please stop snarling and growling at each other like such and sit down.

Edward and Rosalie glared at each other but did as told. Esme glanced at Bella who was now fiddling with the hem of her shirt. A gauze on her neck where Jasper had bit.

-Bella, dear, have you been consuming vervain?- Esme asked, giving Edward a look when this one opened his mouth to protest. She wasn't accusing Bella of anything, she knew the girl would never hurt her family on purpose.

Bella looked up at that in confusion.

-What does that have to do with anything?

-Just answer the damn question.

-Rosalie, be quiet.- Esme warned giving her daughter in question a piercing look. Rosalie scowled but said nothing.

-I have been drinking a tea made of it.- Bella conceded still feeling confused over this conversation.

-You hate tea.- Edward frowned.

-Jasper wouldn't leave me alone until I drank it, would follow me everywhere until I drank it, he even gifted me some of it to take home.

Bella wasn't sure what to make of how the Cullen's faces fell. What did she say? What was she missing?

-Jasper gave it to you?- Emmett asked, speaking for the first time.

-Yeah, he's been forcing it down my throat for the past month, it tastes gross but if I refused he wouldn't stop sighing and sulking about it.

That... was not what any of them had been expecting to hear.

Finding out that Jasper was a black blood... it left more than one feeling sick over what that meant.

Finding out he had been giving Bella vervain... He had been protecting her. Against himself. He would rather poison himself than risking harming her.

It made Edward see him in a whole new light.

-Is something wrong with that?- Bella asked. She was starting to grow tired of not understanding what was this all about.

-You should take her home.- Esme said instead giving Edward a look. Right now a lot of things were complicated and with Bella being human. There was a line that shouldn't be crossed. If she were to know about the black bloods and the Volturi found out...

Aro wouldn't care about excuses.

He would kill her on the spot.

No human could know about the black bloods. The original vampires who were more dangerous towards human than a poisonous one.

Edward knew what her thoughts were and he knew Esme was right.

Hence.

He did as told.

A/N: Now this is it for real. The end of this series. Thanks y'all for sticking around and for the positive feedback, now excuse me while I go cry in a corner XD
