Title: Hold My Breath Every Time We Kiss

Reviews:

Iris7124: it was a relief to write the scene he broke up with him, let me tell you. Who knows, Adam and Sebastian might pop up later lol. We are so glad you liked it though and we hope you like this one too!

MaricaChapter2: haha, we were happy to get to the break up too! We love Sebastian and we were excited for him to not be the "bad guy" this time lol. Mike's party is this chapter and we hope it doesn't disappoint! We might see more from Adam…

Warnings: explicit sex scene. See end notes for detailed warnings.

After the gala ended

"Where are we going? I need to get home." Kurt eyed the two women on either side of him with suspicion.

Mercedes and Santana just grinned, all teeth. They were all still in their party finery although Santana had put her hair up and Mercedes had kicked off her heels. Kurt was still looking immaculate, thank you very much, but he was very tired and strained from dealing with work and personal issues all in one night.

"We are going nowhere until you spill your sparkly little guts and tell us everything." Santana emphasized her point by poking him in the chest.

Mercedes nodded. "I could only see some of what was going on. Are you dating three guys or two? I'm confused."

"What?" Kurt exclaimed.

She cocked an eyebrow at him. "I saw you dancing with that other guy and things looked tense."

"That was Sebastian! He's in love with Adam. Adam likes me. Blaine likes me. Sebastian doesn't like me and wants me to break up with Adam. Although he did say he wouldn't be opposed to a threesome. Or foursome. Which I would be opposed to it, stop looking at me like that, Santana." Kurt slumped back into the seat. He hadn't allowed himself to slump the entire night. "Adam probably— no, he definitely doesn't like me anymore. I kind of broke his heart when I ended things."

The women traded looks.

"I knew when he came back in from your little talk looking like you kicked his balls that it wasn't good." Santana examined her nails. "Throw Pillow should have seen that one coming from a mile away."

"Are you okay?" Mercedes asked as she rubbed his back through his coat.

Kurt shook his head. "I am not ready to talk about it yet."

"You looked really nice tonight though!" Mercedes offered, trying to change the subject.

Kurt grinned, but it was weak. "Thanks. You both sounded wonderful! I wish I could have just stood there all night and listened to you."

Mercedes giggled and flapped a hand at him. "Oh, stop it!"

"Seriously, it was like a concert!" He turned to Santana who was still waiting for an explanation, not falling for the flattery. "And I think Brittany might really like you!" He wiggled a finger at her.

Her searching eyes went gooey and dreamy. "She's so amazing! I can't believe you didn't set me up with her before!"

"I had no idea she liked women. But I'm glad you hit it off. I can talk you up now." He signaled the driver to go.

"Hang on! He's distracting us with flattery and a beautiful woman who might be my soul mate!" Santana glared at Kurt who sighed.

"You little…" Mercedes signaled for the driver to pull over. He sighed too.

"Damnit." Kurt folded his arms.

"Why are you avoiding telling us?" Santana asked as she got up in his face.

"Nothing! Driver, you can go."

"No, driver you stay!" Mercedes got in his face on the other side. "Spill boy, or we will sit here until dawn."

Kurt made a noise of frustration and squished the heels of his palms into his eyes. "Why? Just leave me alone and let me wallow!"

"Did one of them hurt your feelings?" Mercedes guessed. "Santana has a taser and a can-do attitude!"

"You do want a foursome, don't you? I'm telling you, it would be fun." Santana winked.

"No!" Kurt yelled. He exhaled hard through his nose. "Driver, can you cover your ears?"

"I don't know you people, but I really just want to go home." The driver did actually cover his ears though.

"Blaine and I… We kind of snuck off and we…" All he had to do was grin and the girls squealed.

"I fucking knew it!"

"Kurt! You are so bad!"

"Look how kinky you are!"

"Hold up," Mercedes said with a hand to Kurt's chest. "While I was giving the best performance ever, you were messing around with Blaine?"

Kurt grinned sheepishly and clasped his hands together in between his knees. "It wasn't planned."

"Rude."

Santana was laughing pretty hard at this point. But she patted Kurt's arm and told the driver he could go, much to his relief. "Our baby penguin is all grown up. So you are getting with Blaine?"

Kurt shrugged and inspected his immaculate fingernails. "I… It's complicated."

The women shared another look, this time full of judgment.

"Stop it! I'm trying to figure this out, okay?"

The judgment continued.

"Look, I really like him, but I want to be sure. It's not just me. Kit's involved."

"Men." Santana shook her head slowly. "What, does it have to be written in golden letters down his dick? I swear."

"Wow, Kurt." Mercedes shook her head too, totally judging him.

"Leave me alone. Hey, let's talk about Brittany now!"

Santana melted at that, sighing as she flipped into the seat. "She's lovely. I want to live in between her breasts and listen to her brilliance every day."

"Ew," Kurt muttered as he rubbed his tired eyes.

"That's beautiful," the driver said. "New love is always so sweet." He glanced at Mercedes in the mirror. "Well, looks like everyone has someone except me and you."

She chuckled. "That's sweet, but I'm focusing on my career at the moment."

He shrugged. "Worth a shot."

The rest of the drive was consumed by Santana waxing poetically about the shape and color of Brittany's eyes and the sexiness of her brain. Kurt tried to be as supportive of her as she had been of him while Mercedes just egged her on. He caught himself smiling in the rearview mirror at his friends. In this moment, he definitely needed the distraction.

The next day - Sunday

Kurt got to Blaine's apartment a few minutes later than he had planned, but the morning hadn't quite gone smoothly. First, he had to change Kit when he smeared chewed up goldfish all over himself, then he couldn't fine a suitable present for a person he didn't even know, then got caught in fender bender traffic. He finally arrived with Kit in tow and a gift card Blaine had assured him would be fine. He was a bit nervous meeting Blaine's friends, especially since meeting Adam's had not gone well.

He hadn't heard from the man, but that was not really a surprise considering he had done a terrible job of breaking up with him. It was a lot of things that had made his final decision: the lack of attraction, his father's advice, and how he had gotten on his last nerve being so clingy. It saddened him because he really did like Adam as a person and didn't want him to be upset with him. Kurt bet Sebastian would be celebrating. Work would definitely be interesting. He couldn't worry about that right now.

Kurt hiked Kit up a little higher on his hip and knocked on the door of Blaine's apartment. He and Kit shared a look when something crashed inside, the noise followed by shouting and running. Then there was more shouting that sounded a lot like Blaine and someone shrieked that someone else was pulling their hair. Another loud thump and then the door opened to a pink-faced Blaine who was breathing slightly heavier than normal and the collar of his shirt was stretched out.

"Hey guys!" He bumped knuckles with Kit and leaned forward when Kurt went for a quick kiss to his lips.

"Everything okay?" Kurt gave him an amused grin and noticed Cooper rubbing his head behind Blaine. "Kind of sounded like a herd of buffalos in there."

Blaine smiled too widely. "Totally. Cooper tripped. He's clumsy like that. Come in?"

Kurt stifled a giggle at the murderous looks Blaine and Cooper were trading. Inside, the woman he recognized as Blaine's roommate Tina was putting ice into plastic cups next to the other roommate Sam who was pouring drinks. They looked up at Kurt as he entered the room and waved. Another man Kurt assumed was the birthday boy straightened where he sat on the couch and gave Kurt a friendly smile.

Then there was Cooper.

"Heya Kurt!" He was hugged within an inch of his life and was only saved by Kit whining at the uncomfortable squeezing. "Whoops! Sorry!" Cooper wiggled his fingers at the child. "Hey Kurt Jr! Gosh, he looks just like you!"

"Um, thanks. His name is actually Kit." Kit stared at Cooper like he was a creature he had never seen before.

Blaine padded up beside Kurt, shoving his brother away. "Hey everyone, this is Kurt and his son Kit. Kurt, this is Tina, Sam, Mike, and my stupid brother."

Cooper made a face at Blaine before giving Kit a toothy grin. Kit buried his face in Kurt's neck. "Aren't you just the cutest?"

Blaine shoved Cooper away again. "Stop leering at the poor kid! You're terrifying him."

Cooper sputtered and shoved him back. "Am not!"

"Hey, this could be awhile," Tina interjected as she wiped her hands on a towel. "Why don't you come into the kitchen with us?" She motioned over to Sam who was smiling at them. Kurt shimmied out of his diaper bag and set the gift on the table before sliding past the arguing Anderson brothers. He nodded hello at the two while Sam dug through a drawer.

"Aha! Here you go dude!" He handed Kit a whisk that the child grabbed immediately and began trying to chew.

Kurt smiled at him. "Thank you. I don't know when you'll get that back."

Sam shrugged once. "It's fine. My brother and sister loved utensils when they were little. You gotta improvise when you lose your house and most of your toys."

Kurt raised an eyebrow and dodged the whisk as Kit waved it around. "Oh. Um, what?"

Sam waved it away as he dumped a bag of chips into a bowl Tina handed him. "It's all good. Fine now. How old is he?"

Kurt smiled at his son warmly and rested a cheek on top of his head. "A year old." He turned to look at Tina and Mike who had joined her in the kitchen. "I wanted to say thank you all for inviting us. I'm afraid I still don't know a whole lot of people out here yet. We appreciate the hospitality. And happy birthday!"

"Of course!" Tina handed out cups and they all took sips. "Any… friend of Blaine's is a friend of ours." She wiggled her eyebrows at him.

Kurt felt the heat spread across his cheeks as he looked at the Anderson brothers who had dissolved into whisper shouting at each other. He shook his head. "Do they always do this?"

Tina just rolled her eyes at the brothers who were now poking each other.

"Nah, sometimes they have a sing-off and that gets real interesting," Mike said seriously. He put an arm around Kurt's shoulders and led him back to the couch. "How about you come with me and we can get to know each other?"

It turned out Mike was extremely laid back and friendly. Kurt found he really enjoyed talking to him as Kit sat on his lap and played with the whisk. He was eventually joined by Blaine who nearly sat on him when he flopped onto the couch.

Kurt's heart tripped all over itself at the way Blaine smiled and stretched his arm out over his shoulders. He could feel the warmth from his body. "What you guys talking about?"

Blaine's fingers caressed his shoulder and the soft hair at the back of his head. Kurt tried not to show how relaxed the touch made him.

"Mike was telling me about how you made him watch Alien with you because you were too scared to watch it alone."

Blaine's smile dropped and he spread his hands apart. "Dude! Why?"

Mike tried not to laugh. "We were talking about scary movies and that just happened—"

"Did not! It happened like, five years ago." Blaine laughed nervously. "I'm not scared of aliens."

"Oooh, are we cracking out the Blainey stories this early?" Cooper jumped over the back of the sofa nearly into Blaine's lap.

Blaine immediately countered by pushing him off and his momentum carried him the rest of the way right into a heap on the floor.

"Um, ow!" Cooper rubbed his arm he fell on ruefully.

"Cooper! What have I told you about jumping over the sofa!" Tina glared at him and pointed a fork at him in a threatening way.

Cooper grumbled a bit, but just butt scooted over to Kurt's legs. Kit scrambled to get away from him and ended up jumping into a surprised Blaine's arms where he burrowed his head into his chest. Blaine patted the boy's back and turned his body away from Cooper.

"Is the big, scary oaf bothering you, little buddy? He's like an ugly bridge troll, huh?"

Cooper squawked indignantly. "I'll have you know I was voted one of the top ten hottest talk show hosts in LA AND was crowned Turnip Queen of Westerville!"

Blaine, Sam, Tina, and Mike rolled their eyes so hard that they almost popped out of their skulls.

"Absolutely no one ask hi—"

Kurt laughed a little in disbelief. "Um, I'm sorry but what?"

They all collectively groaned except for Cooper who propped his elbows up on Kurt's thighs and rested his chin in his hands. He batted his eyes up at him. "Kurt, that is an excellent story! I will tell it now—"

"No, you won't!" Blaine covered Kit's ears. "I can't hear about you beating all the girls in West Ohio again. I will vomit!"

"Dude, seriously. The part where you waxed everything makes me feel faint." Sam paled a little.

Tina shook her head. "I just can't hear the winner speech again! It gets stuck in my brain like the Free Credit jingle!"

"Spare us, please? For my birthday?" Mike beseeched him.

Cooper scowled at all of them. "Jealousy is not a good look on you all!"

"No, a neon green bikini is not a good look on you, so shut your face hole!" Blaine held Kit close like he could protect the child from the images he was seeing in his mind. He shuddered.

Cooper's smile curled up wickedly at his little brother. "Spoken like a true First Alternate."

Blaine's glare was murderous.

Kurt had been watching them with an amused smile, but at that he burst into laughter which caused Kit to start laughing. The little boy's infectious chuckles made everyone else smile widely and start laughing too. Kurt caught Blaine's eye and knew he didn't want to be anywhere else right then. It felt a little bit like home.

Not long after that, they ate whilst telling stories about Blaine (mostly embarrassing ones) except Sam who kept saying how Blaine saved someone from a murderous wizard or landed an insanely cool trick on a skateboard. Bemused, Kurt asked Blaine about all these things who looked just as confused as Kurt before Sam conceded they were video games. Blaine just put his face in his hand.

"You guys are supposed to be making me sound cool!" Blaine groaned as Kurt snuggled into his side on the couch. They were all sitting around their living room after cake and presents. Tina was in Mike's lap while Sam was sprawled in the easy chair and Cooper had draped himself along their feet with his legs along the ottoman.

Kit had fallen asleep on Blaine who very gently went and laid him on his bed. Kurt silently showed him how to surround him with pillows so he didn't roll off the bed in his sleep and they snuck out together, but not before Kurt wove his fingers through Blaine's. The man glanced at him in surprise, but smiled softly at the action.

So here they all were, just telling little stories and hanging out in the living room. Blaine let his head fall onto Kurt's shoulder in embarrassment and he started playing with his hair to calm him. Blaine sighed happily.

"We can't help it that you are a dumbass sometimes," Cooper mumbled as he stared up at the ceiling.

Blaine tried to blindly kick at him without moving away from Kurt's hand, but he was too far away. He gave up and lay down with his head in Kurt's lap, causing Kurt's heart to squeeze a little at how comfy he looked.

Sam snapped his fingers suddenly. "Oh, I know! Blaine does the best voices when he reads Star Wars and Dr. Who fanfics to me! Sometimes I can't sleep so we snuggle—"

"So, I have news," Blaine interrupted abruptly. Kurt tried not to laugh at the way he mouthed, he's totally lying at him. Everyone turned their attention to him, even Tina and Mike who had been trading sweet little kisses and whispering in each other's ears.

A little line formed in between his eyes. Kurt just continued playing with his hair and tried to smooth the line out with his finger.

Blaine's lips twitched. He opened his eyes and met Kurt's. "Yeah, so it's not a super big deal… at Kurt's gala thing some old dude came up to me and gave me a card. He said they were holding auditions for musicians at the show he works at and thought I might be interested." Blaine looked away and shrugged like he didn't care, but Kurt felt how tense his shoulders got.

"Blaine!" Tina clapped her hands together. "That's so awesome! I knew you could do it!"

"Dude! Why didn't you tell me?" Sam cheered and pumped his fist.

"Blaine Devon Cooper Jr. Anderson the fourth!"

"Cooper, if you don't stop—"

"I'm going to kiss your face." Cooper sat up, swinging his legs over and started to crawl towards the couch.

Blaine sat up so quick he almost knocked his head into Kurt's chin. He backed away and fought a smile. "No! Go away you freak! I swear I will break your nose, Cooper!" He kicked a sock covered foot out to show just how serious he was about the nose-breaking.

Cooper stopped, but didn't even try to hide his grin. "I'm so proud of you, Squirt! You're doing it! You got knocked down and now you're getting back up… I'm just really proud of you."

Blaine shook his head, but his eyes looked a little wet. "I didn't get a job yet. It's just an audition and I might not even be what they are looking for. Don't get your hopes up."

"Don't do that, Blaine. You're amazing and it's time others recognized it too."

"I agree with your brother," Kurt said quietly. Blaine and the others turned to look at him, but he only looked at Blaine. "You can do this and I'm proud too."

Blaine shuffled back over to him on the couch and kissed him. Kurt kissed him back, cupping his face in his hands as the others chorused oooooooooohhhh behind them.

Blaine laughed out of the kiss and Kurt smiled back at him a little shyly. He shrunk back when he turned and Cooper was staring at him.

"And where's my kiss for saying I'm proud? Hmm?"

Blaine stared at his brother. "I'm not making out with you, no matter how much you beg."

"Rude."

It was getting later into the evening when Kit woke up. They had all played a few card games and talked, Blaine not leaving Kurt's side hardly at all. When he heard Kit's cries, Blaine volunteered to go get him.

"Are you sure?" Kurt asked, setting down his cup.

"I got this." Blaine cracked his neck. "No worries." He marched off towards his bedroom with determination and a little worry on his face.

Kurt shook his head before turning back to the others. Who were all staring at him. He smiled nervously. "Um… So whose turn is it?" He picked up his cards again.

"It's Sam's." Tina leaned forward on her arms, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Sam pretended to consult his cards, but he kept peeping over the tops of them at Kurt. "So now that we've got you alone…" She trailed off and was met with silence. She waited about thirty seconds before digging her elbow into Sam's side.

He yelped, then coughed. "Oh! Oh yeah! We wanted to know your intentions with our boy." He tried to glare in an intimidating way, but it came off more constipated than anything.

Kurt pursed his lips and set his cards down delicately. "That's fair. But I think my relationship with Blaine is between us. No offense."

Tina narrowed her eyes at him.

"You're right," Sam admitted. He started looking through his cards again. "Let's play."

"No! He needs to answer the question!" Tina's voice got high and a little squeaky. She smacked her fist against the table, causing everyone to flinch.

"Name ten things you like about my brother," Cooper said as he pointed at Kurt. "Quickly!" He snapped.

"I don't think—"

"It's just easier if you do what they say," Sam said.

Tina glared at him before focusing her wrath on Kurt again. "I'm sorry, but you haven't ever had to see Blaine Anderson so depressed that you have to form an admittedly dumb named task force brought together for the singular purpose of keeping him alive, so don't try to wriggle out of this. We deserve to know what your intentions are!"

"Baby," Mike tried. "Ease up a little."

Cooper held up a hand to Tina. "Kurtis? Can I call you Kurtis?"

"Considering that's not my name—"

"Thanks. Kurtis, my brother is a spectacular, talented, enigma wrapped in sexy-- he gets it from me-- and it's easy to be charmed by him. But he is wrapped further in a layer of stupid and lets beautiful elfin men walk all over him and lead him on as they date ten other men."

Sam and Tina squinted at Cooper while Mike just rubbed at his temples.

Kurt raised an eyebrow, eyes probably bugging out a little. "Okay, that was a lot… And I understood about seventy percent of it…"

"Blaine is a peacock, Kurtis! You have to let him fly! Why won't you love him?" Cooper looked close to tears.

"I… I… What?"

"Peacocks can fly?" Sam looked at Cooper in wonder.

"What we are trying to say," Tina said, attempting to redirect them. "Is that we really care about Blaine and want to make sure you aren't jerking him around. Because he's worth more than that."

"I know." Kurt folded his hands and made eye contact with each of them. "Listen, you are all so important to Blaine. You care about him so much. You are his family, his best friends, and the ones who have always been there for him. Hear me when I say I care about him too and I would never do anything to hurt him intentionally. But it's also between the two of us. So I'm sorry I can't discuss it with all of you."

Sam smiled at Kurt while Tina just nodded. She wasn't satisfied, he could tell, but he guessed she could at least accept that answer. Cooper was wiping a tear away for some reason.

This was the moment Blaine came in carrying a sleepy Kit. He stopped and looked around the room. "What's going on?"

"We tried the Roommate/Brother Gang Bang Attack on Kurt, but he put us in our place," Cooper sniffed.

Blaine raised both eyebrows in concern.

"Cooper is never allowed to name things again," Tina sighed.

"Everything is fine," Kurt smiled at Blaine to show he was in fact fine and reached out for Kit. The boy happily went to him and then tried to take his cards. "Thanks for getting him."

Blaine kissed him lightly. "No problem. His diaper might be on backwards, but I put it on the other way and it didn't look right, but then I switched it and it still looked weird so I dunno. He eyed everyone around the table suspiciously. "Why do you all look so guilty?"

"Nothing! We totally didn't ask Kurt hi— etembemmph." Tina clapped a hand over Sam's mouth which did nothing to ease his suspicion that they had probably embarrassed the hell out of him if the way he was glaring at them was any indication.

Eventually they went back to their game and then Tina and Mike left to so she could take him out to eat. Cooper left too after Blaine threatened him for hugging Kurt too long and trying to grab his butt. Sam ended up hanging out with them for a little while longer before yawning until his jaw cracked. He bid them good night and went to his room, leaving them snuggled on the couch together and Kit played with a ribbon he had found under the couch.

Blaine had Kurt resting against his chest and he was stretched back against the couch. One of his arms was draped over Kurt's chest and he was nuzzling soft kisses into Kurt's hair. Kurt was tracing a finger along Blaine's tattoos and watching Kit play. He glanced at the clock and stretched, chuckling when Blaine whined.

"Come back?"

"Blaine, we need to go. I have to get Kit fed and into bed."

Blaine sat up. "I can cook him something!" He glared when Kurt laughed. "I can!"

"Not if Tina is to be believed you can't."

"You set the microwave on fire one time…" Blaine grumbled. He wet his lips before pouting a little. "Stay here? Pleeease?"

Kurt's heart clenched, but he shook his head. He began to gather up Kit's things. "You all have already fed us once today. I don't want to impose."

"It's not an imposition." Blaine stood and wrapped his arms around Kurt from behind. Lips latched onto his neck and shoulders while hands grasped his hips. Kurt stopped stuffing the toy into Kit's bag and sighed helplessly at the attention. Blaine's mouth trailed heated kisses up to Kurt's ear and he rubbed his body against Kurt's. "You can stay. I'll cook dinner and we will put Kit to bed, then you and I can go shower together and not actually shower. Then I'll make you breakfast in the morning. What do you say?"

Kurt let his head fall back onto Blaine's shoulder helplessly and his eyes drifted closed. Blaine continued to suck at Kurt's neck. He thumbed at the skin under his shirt.

"I can't. We don't have clothes or tooth brushes…" He sighed again.

"One night won't hurt… Come on…"

Kurt reluctantly pulled himself from Blaine's arms. He looked so sad at the loss.

"Another time. Promise." He kissed Blaine deeply, but pulled his hands off of his back as they drifted down.

With a defeated huff, Blaine let his head fall onto Kurt's shoulder. Kurt rubbed his back.

"How about we go out tomorrow night? Marley is off school and she said she could stay later one night." Blaine looked up, all traces of sadness gone. "We can even come back here if you want." He kissed Blaine with the same intent as Blaine had for him and enjoyed the way his pupils blew wide.

"Won't Allan be jealous you're hanging with me? I thought you were going to dinner."

Kurt looked away and tried to focus on packing his bag. He decided to ignore the name. "Yeah, I doubt that since I broke up with him last night. What?"

Blaine was staring at him with an unreadable expression, mouth slightly parted.

Kurt bent to pick Kit up and tried not to squirm under Blaine's gaze. "Well? Are you going to say something?"

Blaine shook himself and tried unsuccessfully not to smile. "Just wondering what took so long. So this means—"

Kit started to whine and fuss so Kurt tried to shuffle him and the bag at the same time. Blaine grabbed the bag and started to help him, apparently content with having this discussion later.

Closing the door behind him, Blaine let out a very uncool sigh.

He had just put Kit and Kurt into their car and let Kurt kiss his breath away, images of what his plans for the next day would be dancing in his mind's eye. He had almost asked Kurt about what him breaking up with Adam meant for them… if that meant they were together now. But that could wait. He couldn't wipe the joy from his face, even when Sam walked by in his underwear.

"I thought Tina said no more running around in your underwear?"

Sam startled so much he nearly spilled his glass of milk everywhere. He clutched his plate holding a piece of birthday cake to his bare chest. "Dude! Don't do that!" He glanced at Tina's door and grinned at how it was still dark. "Tina's not even back yet. So it's free ballin' until then."

Blaine nodded at him and then opened the front door. "Oh! Hey Tina!"

Sam squealed and shot towards his room until Blaine started laughing his ass off. He glowered at him and slumped into his seat. "Not cool, bro." He swiped the icing from his pectoral and sucked it off his finger. "Kurt go home?"

Blaine nodded as he plopped down onto the couch. He could feel the dopey grin on his face, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't shake it. "They had to go home. But he said I could see him tomorrow night."

Sam watched him for a few moments, a strange little smile on his face, but then he went back to his cake.

"What?" Blaine asked.

Sam shook his head. "Nothing. It's just…"

Blaine waited. Then, "You guys do like him right?"

"Yeah. We do. I think we are just all protective of you," he said carefully.

"I know. I'm protective of you guys too. But I really like him and he likes me back." Blaine looked down at his hands. He could still feel the warmth from Kurt's skin on them. "He actually chose me, you know? Like, some small part of me thought he wouldn't, but he did. Now we are going to be together and I just can't believe it."

When Blaine looked back over at his friend, he was watching him sadly. He frowned. "What's wrong?"

"I just… Okay, I like Kurt, but as your token straight friend I'm obligated to give you the depressing advice you probably don't want to hear."

Blaine shifted on the couch and listened warily. "Okay. Go ahead."

"I know you're excited about this, but when we were interrogating him— I mean talking to him earlier, he just seemed a little unsure. Like, if I was with someone and their friends asked, I would have no problems with telling anyone, you know?"

Blaine shrugged. Sam just didn't know Kurt. He was super private and they hadn't really gotten a chance to talk about it, so maybe that why he wasn't very forthcoming. Also, he didn't really know Blaine's friends all that well. "He's just protective of us. Seriously, don't worry. Adam is out of the picture. We are officially together. I appreciate your concern, but it's fine."

Sam didn't seem convinced, but he didn't try to argue. He was always really cool like that. He took another bite of his cake. "Just be careful, okay? Your heart's too special to get broken again."

"I'm gonna kiss your face that was so sweet." Blaine stood, a wide grin on his face and love for his friends making his heart ache.

"Alright, Cooper. Better pucker up because these lips are a ride!" Sam swatted his hand away when he swiped a finger in the cake frosting.

"How dare you call me Cooper. That's offensive."

"Get your fingers out of my cake before you lose one!"

Blaine laughed and ruffled Sam's hair as he shuffled by on the way to bed. "Thanks man. You know I love you. I'm fine though. Things are starting to look up and by tomorrow night, Kurt is going to have no problem telling people he's my boyfriend."

Sam just nodded, eyes still a little worried. Blaine would show him. He was finally winning at life.

Monday evening - the next day.

They met at the restaurant and ate dinner at the same Italian place they had been to before. It was nice, but Blaine had this energy about him, like he was about to jump out of his skin. Kurt sipped his drink as Blaine wiped his mouth across from him. They had had fun so far which was needed after his work day.

Brittany winked at him constantly and kept trying to listen in on all his phone calls. Adam avoided him completely, only sending messages to Brittany if he needed anything. Kurt supposed he couldn't blame him, but it still kind of stung. But he did say he needed space.

So this was nice. Chatting and joking and flirting with Blaine was exactly the distraction he needed. Kurt was prepared to talk with him about breaking it off with Adam and what that meant for them, but surprisingly he hadn't brought it up.

"What are you thinking about so hard?" Blaine asked. He was staring at Kurt with an amused smile and leaning back in his chair slightly.

Kurt smiled back. "Nothing. Everything. Why don't you take my mind off of my long day?"

Blaine wiped his palms on his thighs. "How should I do that?"

With a shrug, the designer sat back in his own chair. "I don't know, tell me about your day?"

"How about I do one better?" Blaine stood and made eye contact with someone over Kurt's shoulder.

"What are you—"

"Just sit back, watch, and enjoy being distracted," Blaine said with a wink as he took off through the crowd.

Kurt twisted in his seat and followed Blaine with his eyes, confused as to what was going on until he saw him sit at the piano on the small stage. A knowing smile crept across his face as Blaine introduced himself to the crowd.

"I'm not the usual performer, but I know the manager and she said I could come up here and sing an original song I wrote since being inspired by my lovely date over there."

Kurt blew him a kiss, only blushing a little.

Blaine grinned and his fingers flew over the keys.

Every night in a different bed

The ceilings look the same

Every light leaves a memory

I swear, they're tracing out your name

A couple hundred miles from somewhere

And another couple more to go

Ask me what I remember

I'll say I really don't know

I was livin' a lonely life until I fell for you

I was livin' a Lost Boys life

It was all I ever knew

And every morning the sun comes up

And the darkness fades away

I was livin' a Lost Boys life

It was all you had to say

It was all you had to say

After leaving the restaurant amidst lots of applause, the couple strolled down the street a little ways, admiring the shops. Blaine wrapped an arm around Kurt's waist and Kurt wrapped his around Blaine's shoulders. They walked together peacefully until coming to a bakery.

"Oh my god, this stuff looks delicious, but I'm so full." Kurt eyed the pastries out on display.

With a playful grin, Blaine tugged him back towards where they parked. "Come on. I have an idea."

They sat in Kurt's car, the night heavy and sweet around them. Kurt's face hurt from smiling so much and all he could think was he never wanted this night to end.

"I can't believe you did that. Well, I can I guess."

Blaine was staring at him, his eyes dark in the glow of the streetlight as they traced the lines and curves of his own face. Kurt squirmed a little at the attention. "Did you like it?"

Kurt nodded. "I loved it. That song was beautiful."

Blaine was still staring at him.

"What?"

Blaine breathed out a small laugh. "I just had a lot of fun tonight. I… I always do. With you. I don't ever want it to stop."

Kurt couldn't make his mouth work at the sweet words. So he just kissed him. Blaine accepted it easily, parting his mouth easily to taste Kurt. He always kissed him like this, tender and sweet and with such desire it made Kurt's stomach swoop like he was at the top of the roller coaster.

They pulled away and Kurt blurted out the first thing that crossed his mind. "You take my breath away…"

And oh, how Blaine smiled. It made Kurt want to kiss him again, so he did.

The kiss started off like the other one, slow and sweet and gentle, but then Blaine sucked at Kurt's bottom lip and heat blazed in his gut at the feeling. He gripped Blaine's thigh and swallowed his moan as Blaine's hands came up to cup Kurt's neck and jaw below his ear. Then Blaine's tongue swiped into his mouth and sucked at his own. Kurt ripped himself away from Blaine, who's eyes had glazed over and looked a little confused.

"Kurt?"

"I want to go upstairs… To your bedroom." He let the meaning settle on Blaine who nodded once and then they were going up together.

They had slept together several times, but something about this moment felt different. It felt bigger and like it meant more. All Kurt knew was he was kind of freaking out a little at the way he felt.

They were alone in the apartment. Kurt could tell as soon as they walked in, hands all over each other and small kisses being dotted on a cheek or shoulder. Blaine wasted no time leading Kurt to his room and locking the door behind him. Kurt sat on the bed, anticipation making his hands shake. Blaine turned around, but stayed pressed to the door, his hands behind his back and an odd expression on his face Kurt couldn't place.

"Is everything okay?" Kurt asked lightly.

Blaine stared for a few more seconds before smiling. "Yeah. I want to…" he shook his head. "Never mind. Later." He let his eyes crawl up and down Kurt's body, causing him to shiver again. "Are you okay? You seem…" He considered his words. "Is something bothering you?"

He just smiled at Blaine and patted the bed beside him. "I'm fine. Come here." They could talk later.

As if he was drawn there by an invisible string, Blaine went. He sat beside Kurt, close enough that their arms were brushing and they kissed, soft and sweet until it wasn't. Kurt had his fingers curled into Blaine's shirt and was trying to tug it off so he could taste the skin there when Blaine pulled back.

"I have an idea."

Kurt tried to catch his breath as he leaned back, noting the playful glint in Blaine's eyes.

"Can it wait? I'm a little busy." He emphasized his point by pulling at Blaine's shirt again. Blaine put his hand over Kurt's.

"It's relevant. Just hear me out."

Kurt quirked an eyebrow at him. "I'm not beating you with a belt."

Blaine laughed, his eyes crinkling and smacked another kiss to Kurt's lips. "Hang on." He stood and stripped off his shirt since that's definitely what Kurt wanted and winked as the designer drooled over his bare chest, abs, and arms in the lamp light. He crossed to his closet and started digging around.

Curiosity outweighing his lust, Kurt got up and followed him. He peeked over Blaine's bare shoulder and kissed it. Blaine leaned into his touch, but kept shuffling through things. To say he was slightly intimidated was an understatement. There were things in there he definitely knew the purpose for and things he had never seen anywhere but on a horror movie where the main character gets tortured. A belt was just the tip of the iceberg here and Kurt honestly got a little lightheaded. The thought of using something on Blaine to hurt him was completely opposite of what he had always done in the bedroom. He liked being rough sometimes, but doing something to actually hurt him? Kurt didn't think he could stomach that. Blaine caught him eyeing the closet skeptically and kissed his cheek.

"Don't worry. We won't do anything before discussing it first. I don't use everything in here."

"I wasn't worried," Kurt squeaked. Blaine pressed another reassuring kiss to his jaw and continued digging. With a triumphant cheer, he pulled out a satin blindfold and some leather cuffs lined with faux fur. They were linked by a short silver chain. Heat gathered in his stomach. Those particular items sounded exciting and definitely something he could handle.

Dangling the cuffs in front of Kurt, Blaine gave him a seductive smile. "Want to use these? I find when I'm stressed, a little fun and release helps a lot." He stroked Kurt's cheek with the blindfold, caressing the side down past his jaw and neck. It bobbed as Kurt swallowed and lifted his chin a little so Blaine could continue. The slick material felt cool against his skin as though wet. It almost tickled. Blaine's eyes were molten chocolate, pupils wide as he watched the way Kurt shuddered with excitement. "What do you say, Kurt?" Blaine's voice was raspy and low as he tried to entice the man beside him. Little did he know Kurt didn't need much enticement.

"Sure." Kurt's voice was just as rough as Blaine's. "What do I do?"

Excitement lit up Blaine's face and it was almost cute. Almost. He pulled Kurt in by the back of his neck for a hard kiss. Kurt responded immediately, letting Blaine have his way. He nudged Kurt back to the bed, pulling Kurt's shirt off before easing him onto his back. Next came his shoes and socks, pants (he only had a little trouble with those. Kurt had to help.) and underwear. Once he was completely naked, Blaine took the cuffs in hand and showed them to Kurt.

"These don't hurt. If they do, say something and I'll adjust it." He fingered the little chain in between the cuffs. "This will break if you put a lot of pressure on it. But you won't need to break it. I just want you to know you aren't trapped." He set the cuffs down beside Kurt's head and the chain tinkled. Kurt's heart beat quickened at the thought of them being wrapped around his wrists soon. Blaine held up the blindfold with a playful little grin. "I'll put this on and I just want you to feel. Focus on my touch…" He slid a finger down Kurt's chest to his abs that quirked under the light touch and then belly button. "Focus on my words…" His lips skimmed Kurt's ear as he whispered them, making Kurt shiver again. "And focus on my mouth…" This he punctuated his words by using the tip of his tongue on the rim his ear before nibbling on the lobe. Kurt gasped at the attention. His fingers dug into the comforter below him and he squirmed, unable to really go anywhere because Blaine's warm, firm body was pressed on top of his. Blaine kissed his mouth softly but quickly. Then he sat up and grabbed the cuffs and one of Kurt's hands. He made certain to catch Kurt's eye. He was caramel and golden in the lamplight, blending with the gray shadows hugging the curves of his arms and body. Kurt lost his breath for a moment staring at how beautiful he was. Blaine lifted Kurt's wrist to his lips. "If at any moment you don't want to do this, just say so and it stops. I promise." His lips pressed to Kurt's skin, right along the vein.

Kurt felt it like an electric shock through him. He nodded once to show he understood and swallowed against his suddenly dry throat. He allowed Blaine to wrap the cuff around his wrist and fasten it, before allowing him to do the same with other. The cuffs were comfortable and tight. He never would have thought it would have turned him on as much as it did, but it did.

Blaine had woven the chain around a bar in his headboard before fastening the other cuff. Kurt tugged on them experimentally. He definitely felt like he could break the chain if he yanked hard enough, but the heated way Blaine was leering at him caused him to want to stay chained to the bed for a week. Blaine's hands reached out like he wanted to touch him everywhere, but he curled his fingers into his palms and licked his lips.

"Comfy?"

Kurt nodded and smiled up at him before twisting his arms a little. The way Blaine's eyes immediately flew to Kurt's biceps had him feeling smug. The biker sat back on his knees and admired how Kurt looked tied to his bed before reaching over and picking up the blindfold. Kurt's heart was racing as Blaine wrapped the ties behind his head and gently slipped the slick fabric over his eyes. Everything went black as Kurt felt the mask being tied securely behind his head and he tried to relax his body. He wasn't worried Blaine would hurt him, but this was a new experience and his heart was pounding.

"Okay," Blaine said, voice warm and low. "Now just sit right here and I'll be back."

"What?" Kurt turned his head toward the voice. "Where are you going?" The chain clinked against the metal bar of his headboard.

"To get the last thing we need," Blaine replied teasingly. "It was your idea!"

Kurt felt lips on his in a searing kiss before Blaine was padding away out of the room. Kurt muttered to himself as he heard Blaine clattering around in the kitchen, probably getting off on him laying here naked and cold and unable to do anything about it. Soon enough, he could hear Blaine entering the room and setting a bowl down on the night stand beside him. He smelled the richness of chocolate in the air and felt the bed dip as Blaine crawled back beside him.

"My god, I wish you could see just how delicious you look," Blaine said, his voice full of longing. Kurt gasped as a warm mouth was planted on his. Blaine pulled back. "I might just have to eat you up." It was said against his lips. Blaine tasted like chocolate and Kurt licked the taste from his own lips. "Can I eat chocolate off of you?"

"Yes," Kurt groaned as he felt warmth and wetness slide down his chest and Blaine began to lap it up. He almost wished the blindfold was off so he could watch, but the way the complete darkness made him feel everything was exquisite.

"Yes, oh! Ohhh Blaine…" More chocolate was being swiped down his stomach and lapped up. He wanted to fill pages up with how good Blaine's tongue felt on him. Kurt could hear the scrape of the chain on the metal and feel how the cuffs tightened around his wrists as he writhed. The chocolate was dripped down his body, then along his legs and feet. Kurt's breath hitched as Blaine sucked every bit up, his rough hands gently caressing his hips and thighs. Something about being helpless and letting Blaine do anything he pleased with him had him already so close to the edge.

"You're so beautiful, Kurt." Blaine crawled up over him and swiped some of the chocolate down his cheek. It was starting to cool so it startled him at first, but the way Blaine licked it off of him made him not mind the temperature so much. When Blaine licked into his mouth, it tasted like him and chocolate and it drove Kurt insane.

"Please, Blaine. Please fuck me," Kurt panted as Blaine moved to his neck. "Or suck me. Anything please."

Blaine chuckled darkly into where he was sucking a drop of chocolate. He was covering Kurt with his own body and they were lined up in such a way he could feel how hard Blaine was. He was desperate for some type of friction on his cock.

"I have a little bit of chocolate left. How about I suck it off of your dick and then you can lay there helplessly while I fuck your mouth?"

Kurt had meant to say actual words to agree, but a strangled noise of affirmation came out instead, causing Blaine to blow hot puffs of air on his face with laughter.

"I need a yes or a no sweetheart."

"Yes. Definitely yes." He was kissed hotly again before Blaine moved down his body and lifted his legs. After sliding a pillow under his lower back to prop him up, Kurt felt the thickening chocolate being smeared up his throbbing erection. He moaned at the touch, anything a relief at this point. Then he felt Blaine's mouth on him, swallowing him down and sucking and licking and he almost came from that. Blaine was devouring him and Kurt could only lay there and take what he was given. Not being able to watch and see had him focusing on the feeling only, heightening it and sending him crashing into his orgasm. Right before he could come, Blaine stopped.

Kurt had been tensed up off of the mattress, but he flopped back down. The cuffs had been biting into his skin at the edges. The pain wasn't terrible, but he would definitely want to make sure they weren't leaving marks later.

"Blaine… why?"

"I'm not done with you," Blaine said as he ran the tip of his tongue down his balls and towards his entrance. Kurt rolled his hips with it, pushing toward Blaine's tongue. "I want to rim you first. Sound good?" He punctuated this by fucking his tongue into Kurt while using his hands to spread his cheeks apart.

Kurt cried out and tried to get closer. Blaine's tongue slid in and out of him, not for the purpose of stretching him but only for the purpose of bringing him pleasure. Then Blaine sucked and Kurt let loose a string of curses while straining against the cuffs.

"I'm so fucking close, Blaine and if you fucking stop I will be so fucking pissed."

Blaine doubled his efforts, his tongue sliding around the ring of muscle and his hand stroking Kurt's dick. Kurt moved his hips in time with what Blaine was doing to him until he spilled over Blaine's hand and onto his own stomach.

He felt like he was coming for several minutes, the waves hitting him over and over again. Blaine began to lick him clean and Kurt moaned at the thought, his dick valiantly trying to harden again.

"You taste so yummy," Blaine said as he licked him again. "Can I have you for dessert every night?"

Kurt let loose a strangled laugh as Blaine removed the pillow under him and then pushed it under his head so he was angled up a little bit. He wondered for a moment if Blaine would uncuff him or remove the blindfold, but the biker just straddled his shoulders and Kurt felt his fingers cupping his chin. "Open for me, sweetheart?"

Kurt smiled up in the direction of Blaine's voice and opened his mouth slowly. He heard Blaine groan and felt his cock being slid into his mouth. He attempted to make Blaine feel as good as he made him feel earlier, swirling his tongue around and sucking hard at the head. Blaine sucked air in through his teeth and fucked Kurt's mouth, harder and faster as he used Kurt's hair as leverage. Kurt opened his mouth wider and let Blaine in deeper. He smiled around the cock when Blaine told him how good he was at it.

"It's like your mouth was made to fuck. I wish you could see how hot you look chained to my bed with my cock in your mouth." The blindfold was ripped off of him and Kurt winced in the low light as it stung his eyes. "Sorry. I just had to see you."

Kurt focused on Blaine above him and almost came again at the sight. He was sweating with messy hair and glazed over eyes. He was gripping the bar of the headboard above him with the hand that wasn't in his hair, abdominal muscles flexing with every thrust into Kurt's mouth. Blaine's mouth quirked up a little. "There you are. So beautiful…"

Kurt stared up at him and hollowed out his cheeks. Blaine's fingers tightened in his hair and he moved faster. Kurt kept his pace and soon Blaine threw his head back and pulled out. He fisted himself until he came on Kurt's face, the warm come dripping down his cheeks and lips. Blaine dropped over Kurt and immediately began kissing him and licking all his own come off. When he kissed Kurt again, he swiped his tongue into Kurt's mouth so he could taste.

Blaine unbuckled the cuffs and massaged the reddened skin before dropping kisses on the abused flesh. Once they both had caught their breath, Blaine led him to the shower.

They cleaned up, washing each other and sharing slow kisses under the hot spray. Then they cuddled in Blaine's bed until Kurt had to leave. Which was when Blaine brought it up.

"Was that too much?" He kissed Kurt's wrists that had pretty much gone back to his regular coloring. "I just lose it when I see you like that."

Kurt shook his head and closed his eyes when Blaine kissed his forehead next. "No. I.. I really liked it. Did you?"

Blaine nodded slowly, the tip of his nose bumping Kurt's. The designer laughed at how enthusiastic Blaine was. "I want to do it again soon. I…" The playfulness slid into seriousness. "I want to keep doing this and going on dates and… basically I want you to be mine. Only mine. I know you broke up with Adam, so I can't help but think that means you chose me. How do you feel?"

Kurt knew this would be coming and he had prepared himself. He just hoped Blaine would understand. "I do want to be with you. Only you."

The joy on Blaine's face was contagious, but Kurt forced himself to finish his thought. "I just need to take things slow."

Blaine frowned. "Slow?"

Kurt nodded. "I'm just thinking about how talented you are. What if you have to leave to tour or have to move somewhere else? What would that mean for us?"

Blaine sat up. The sheet draped across his legs and he scratched at the back of his head. "So, you what? Want to not see each other much in the slight chance I have to leave? That doesn't really make sense."

"Blaine, you haven't ever been signed on somewhere, but you have to go where the work is. They control where you go and what you do. I'm not saying we can't date, I'm just saying we have to be careful—"

"I guess I'm just kind of confused." Blaine stared straight ahead. His voice was strained like he was trying to hold back a lot of emotion. "You want to be with me, but not if I make something of myself?"

"That's not what—"

"I want to be a serious couple with you, Kurt. I want all of it. I want Kit, no matter how sticky he is or how much he sticks his fingers in my nose. I know it means sleepless nights and less freedom to do what I want, but damnit that kid is so cool. I want to take pictures of you with fan girls and boys. I want to see my friends become yours and yours become mine. I want to trade in my motorcycle that I fucking love to buy a car I can drive you and Kit around in so we can do lame family shit that will probably embarrass him when he's older. I know I'm probably not who you imagined being with, but I care so much about you." Blaine choked up and looked at him. His eyes were misty and sad. It broke Kurt's heart.

"Blaine, that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. You mean so much to me." He reached for Blaine's hand, but curled his fingers up and dropped them. "I want all that too. I just want to be careful because I can't take it if Kit gets attached… or if I get attached to you and you have to leave. Can we just see how this goes?"

Blaine looked away. "It hurts pretty fucking bad that you think I would just up and leave you if I get the opportunity."

"I want you to follow your dreams, Blaine. I could never be the reason you give up on something you have wanted your whole life! You have so much potential—"

"I think you're just scared." He leveled Kurt with a hard stare. "Yeah, I think you're scared and this is just another thing to keep me at a distance. Tell me I'm wrong."

Blaine began to blur in front of him as Kurt started to get emotional. He wasn't trying to upset Blaine, but he wasn't understanding. "I'm not afraid!" He scrubbed at his eyes. "I just want to talk about this."

Blaine shrugged. "I don't know what there is to talk about. You don't trust me."

"That's not what I—" Kurt sighed and rubbed his temples. "Okay. I'm going to go home. Why don't we both just think about this and we can talk again when we have both calmed down?"

"Fine." He did not seem fine. He seemed pretty far from fine, actually.

Kurt longed to kiss him the way they had earlier, but he figured Blaine wouldn't be okay with that. "I'll call you," he said thickly.

The biker was picking at the edge of his blanket. "Sure."

With a jerky nod, Kurt stood and found his clothes. He put them on, trying hard not to cry. When he went to say goodbye to Blaine, the man was fast asleep or at least pretending to be. A tear streaked down his cheek and he brushed it away quickly.

"Bye, Blaine."
