Welcome dear readers to the world of pokemon! So currently I'm rewatching Black and White and came across wishfulshipping and developed a taste for it. I enjoy Iris and Cilan's repour a lot more than Iris and Ash's. And since I'm nothing if not consistent, this story will naturally have pearlshipping in it, but in an interesting way mwahahaha!

Also a few more things, I've played around with chronology here as you'll see soon. Also when a pokemon speaks, I've added in brackets for an English translation.

Anyway, I've bored you enough with this intro, so without further adu, please enjoy Revenge dates!

Cilan Troh was many things. Calm-ish, collected, intelligent, fierce on the battlefield and culinarily gifted to boot. However, those were all put to the test on the day he met…her. It was a normal day for a gym leader/ restauranteur, buy groceries and come back to the gym-restaurant to get ready to face another challenger, but he never expected to meet not only a real pikachu but also, a person who would change his life forever.

Iris, this tanned purple-haired girl was his exact opposite in so many ways. She preferred to believe in the supernatural and he preferred science. She was in tune with nature and grew up in a small town whilst he was a city kid through and through. Yet, he always felt close to her, like he could tell her anything. She was perfect, she was so gentle with her axew, now haxorus and brought out the best in everyone around her. Her general sarcastic and cynical attitude although a bit standoffish only made her better in his eyes. There was only one way to describe his feelings for her; love. He was in love with her, everything about her.

Unfortunately for Cilan, his feelings weren't requited. On his and Iris' return from Kanto, he had told her how he felt. How she had changed everything he once thought. Although flattered, Iris had told him that she didn't see him that way. She was more interested in Ash than anyone else.

Heartbroken, Cilan returned to Striaton City with a darker outlook on life, no longer was there the outgoing spark of a trainer, but an empty shell. One who no longer took pride in his work. Everyone around him could see it, including his closest friend; pansage. Poor pansage couldn't stand to see his trainer so…defeated, naturally he went to most rational person at the gym; Cress.

-x-

'' Pansage pan'' the grass monkey pokemon tugged at the blue haired waiter's pant leg.

'' Pansage? What're you doing here? I assumed you'd be with Cilan.''

'' Pansage pan. (He's not talking to me.)''

'' I see. He hasn't been right since he returned from Kanto. I'd love to talk to him but I have to take care of these customers.''

'' Sage…( Cress…)'' pansage growled.

'' Very well. I'm sorry my friends but I must tend to something. Instead…my brother will assist you'' Cress bowed his head as he pulled Chili to the table.

'' What the-'' the youngest brother stuttered as he shook his head in disbelief.

Cress followed Pansage past the battlefield and up 3 flights of stairs until they reached a door. On it was a framed certificate from the connoisseur association, it easily belonging to a specific gym leader.

'' Cilan? Can we talk?'' Cress asked cautiously.

'' Sure'' the green haired trainer mumbled.

'' Wow that is pungent!'' Cress coughed as he entered the room. With he curtains shut, empty bags of junk food and what appeared to be a pile of unwashed socks, the room made the breath of a trubbish seem palatable.

'' It's the scent of despair. A recipe gone wrong, love is a plague that will destroy lives if possible'' Cilan responded coldly.

'' Pan pansage ( it's the smell of unwashed clothing.) Pansage, pansage sage! ( Cilan get over it. She said no.)''

'' Why? Without her love my life is as bland as an unseasoned soup.''

'' Snap out of it!'' Cress growled, lifting his older brother out of bed. '' The Cilan I know doesn't whine and mope. He gets up and cleans himself off. Now, get dressed. There's a young lady downstairs with Ash. She specifically asked for you. I think it may be gym battle related.''

'' Very well'' Cilan moped.

About 30 minutes later, Cilan emerged in the restaurant area of the gym to meet his visitor. Upon seeing her, he immediately knew her face.

'' Dawn! What brings you to Unova?'' the gym leader asked gleefully.

'' Him'' Dawn pointed her thumb at Ash, who was busy chatting with the last person Cilan wanted to see…Iris.

'' Oh…Why is Ash here? I assumed he'd be basking in the glory of his Kalos League victory with that odd lady Serena.''

Just hearing her name brought Dawn fiery rage. That blonde hussy had almost stolen Ash from her, and now he had been stolen by Iris of all people. They didn't have anything in common at all! She was cynical and smart-mouthed, he was positive and upbeat.

'' Dawn, hello? Are you ok?'' CIilan asked concerned.

'' Fine. Anyway, I'm here because Ash and I are on vacation together-

'' Fantastic-

'' And he's trying to see all his friends here in Unova. Naturally you were high on the list, so was…she'' Dawn gritted her teeth.

Whilst the bluenette and her green-haired friend were chatting, the subject Ash and Iris were discussing was quite shocking to say the least.

'' So, why'd you break his heart?'' Ash asked.

'' I didn't break his heart…did I?'' Iris responded, concernedly.

'' According to Cress, ever since Johto he's spent most of his time in bed. You shattered his heart into a million pieces.''

Iris's face fell. She never meant to hurt Cilan like that, mostly because she didn't mean it. She also felt the same way but she didn't know if they'd work out. She wanted to become a dragon master, which meant traveling, and since Cilan was a gym leader he was needed in Striaton City. They were bound to fail.

'' Hello, earth to Iris'' Ash snapped his fingers at his friend.

'' Sorry, so, what's your deal with Dawn? You've been pretty flirty lately.''

'' Us…we're…just friends'' Ash blushed, not eager to show how much he cared for Dawn to his most cocky friend.

'' No Ash, that's what we are. You like her don't you?''

'' And if I do? You obviously like Cilan?!''

'' What? No. Where'd you get that idea'' Iris nervously laughed.

'' Come on Iris, I'm no that dense. You can't take your eyes off him. So, ask him out.''

'' I can't.''

'' Sure you can'' Ash tried pushing Iris in the gym leader's direction.

'' I can't because of our lives. I want to be a dragon master and he's needed here. We'd fail as a couple.''

'' Well that's a lie'' Ash scoffed.

'' Oh, how so kid?''

'' Who's to say Cilan can't do both? Like he did back with me?''

'' Good point. But he's probably over me, see, look at him'' Iris pointed. '' His heart's obviously fixed.''

'' Wonder what those two are talking about'' Ash wondered.

What the young trainer didn't know was that Cilan and Dawn were speaking about something neither of them was ok with; deception.

'' This sucks'' Dawn pouted. '' Why're they not with us?''

'' Hmm. This calls for a recipe made of deception and lies.''

'' Excuse me?''

'' What I mean is, you and I lie to get our way. We say that we've fallen for each other and then invite Ash and Iris on a double date. There we break them apart'' CIlan said evilly.

'' Lying to get our way? Not my style. Why don't we just do the first half of your plan and hope they fall for us. If not then we move on.''

'' Alright then. Its deception time!'' Cilan grinned.

Ooh, Cilan, you evil man lol. Thanks for reading everyone, don't forget to tell me if you enjoyed the story with a follow, favorite and review if you're on . If you're on AO3 then a comment and kudos would be greatly appreciated.
