Goku was excited to be getting Goten for the entire weekend; they hadn't had any actual time together since Chi Chi left. He was super excited to spend time with the boy.

'Can we go camping?'

'Yep!'

'Can we go fishing?'

'Yep!'

'Can we -' he stopped and looked and around. 'Is Vegan here?'

He was so excited to spend time with Goten that Goku forgot about Vegan.

'Yes.'

'Did she bring Trunks?'

'No.'

'Oh.' His shoulders sagged.

'I can take you to see Trunks.'

Vegan was in the kitchen, cooking something with blueberries; little Marron was still at the table.

'Kakarotto!' She turned to him and beamed when she saw Goten. 'Goten!'

He blushed and looked at his feet. 'Hello, Vegan.'

'Goten!' Marron exclaimed.

'Is Marron spending the night?!'

'If your father agrees, I think I can swing it.'

'Oh, dad, please!'

'Please, Goku?'

'Please, kakarotto?' Vegan purred.

Oh, gosh. Why did she have to say his name like that?

'Of course!'

'Eighteen,' Mrs. Briefs exclaimed as Bloomer jerked his head towards her, 'its so good to see you!'

'Good to see you too.'

'How's the family?'

'Good. Good. How're things here?'

'Dr. Briefs isn't feeling well.'

'Is it serious?' Eighteen glanced at Bloomer.

That would explain why Bloomer hasn't been eager to set a date.

'No, dad just needs to take his medicine.'

'How is everything besides this?'

'Fine.' Bloomer grouched as she. 'What brings you by?'

'It's not important-'

'Nonsense. You're here; you might as well tell me.'

'I didn't know your father was sick...'

'Eighteen...' He sighed.

He clearly didn't want to think about his father.

'So, what are you working on?'

'Nothing, really.' He closed his laptop. 'Just surfing the web.'

'I'm sure Krillin or Goku have a senzu lying around-'

'How's Krillin?'

'He works too hard. How is Trunks?'

'Still playing that game of his.'

'Do you know where Vegan is?' Asked Mrs. Briefs.

'Mom!'

'Bloomer! She is the boy's mother! The two of you are being childish! And besides, Vegan was the only person who get your father to take his medicine!'

'Yes,' Eighteen said, 'but she's made it abundantly clear that she wants Trunks to forgive her when he's ready. She doesn't want to rush him.'

'Is she still on Earth?' Bloomer asked; the bitterness in his voice was hardly contained.

'Yes. She is well. How are you and Yamcha? You'll have to tell me when you two will be married.'

'Married?!' Mrs. Briefs exclaimed as Bloomer threw Eighteen an irritated glance. 'You and Yamcha are getting married?!'

'You didn't tell your mother?!'

'Thank you for your visit, Eighteen!'

Spending time with the children was always a good time in

Vegan's mind; she just wished Trunks was there. Goten mentioned that he and Trunks don't play together anymore.

Vegan didn't like the idea of the two boys not being together; they had something she and Kakarotto didn't have.

An outlet, the two could always find solace in the other. She had to find a way to mend the relationship between the two.

'What do you do with your long hair?' Goten asked after hours of vigorous playtime.

'The stylist threw it away or made a wig.'

'Why did you cut it?' Asked marron.

'I wanted to look different.'

'Why?'

'Sometimes grown up like to change it up a bit.'

'Like when mom tries a new recipe?'

'Or when mommy buys a new dress?'

'Yes.'

'I miss your long hair,' Goten whined, 'make it come back.'

'Goten,' kakarotto said lazily, 'its only hair; it will grow back.' He ran his fingers through Vegan's hair. 'I think it looks pretty.'

'Me too.' Marron clapped as Goten looked between his father and Vegan.

'You never said mom's hair was pretty.'

Kakarott turned to his son, who seemed to glare at him. 'I think your mom is awfully pretty-'

'Then why don't you want her to come back?'

'Well, I can't make mom happy anymore.'

'I don't like living at grandpa's; I wanna us to be a family again.'

'Goten...'

'Don't you miss your family?' the boy whirled around to face Vegan.

'Yes, but my family doesn't miss me.'

'If you were part of my family, I'd miss you.'

'Me, too.' Marron.

'Well, I thought I was a part of your families.' Vegan feigned hurt. 'Your dear Aunt Vegan.'

'You are!' Both children cried out, rushing to her arms.

The children slept in Goten's room; Kakarotto looked at some papers anxiously.

'What are you reading?'

'Bills.'

'Bills?'

'What we sold wasn't enough-'

'Then we sell more.'

'It's too late.'

'What if I..?'

'What if I auctioned my handbags?'

'What?'

'I don't use them...'

'Vegan-'

'It makes me unhappy to look at those things.'

'I don't want to see you unhappy.'
