If one were to describe Suletta Mercury, the obvious good traits about her would be something along the lines of her constant cheerfulness, her willingness to stick with things and her drive to help people in need. Ask anyone in the Asticassia School Of Technology and they'd probably say something similar.
Of course, if one were a bit more cynical about life. They could easily see such traits as a negative. Cheerfulness? That was just how carefree and easy she had it. Sticking with things? Simply another way to say stubborn. And helping people in need?
Well that was just being nosy.
Miorine Rembran would never admit it, but thoughts such as those were very much in line with her initial impression of the mercurian girl. She doubted she would ever get rid of the guilty pang that came with thinking about such things, even if she understood how she came to such a conclusion.
Her plans to escape to Earth, foiled by Suletta's good intentions. How cheerful she was despite sticking out like a sore thumb. The way Miorine was followed around like a lost puppy the first day, Suletta claiming all the while that she would take responsibility for the disruption earlier. Stopping Guel's temper tantrum and even accepting a duel from him. It was obvious the girl was scared stiff at Guel's aggressiveness, but she also refused to back down.
To Miorine, it was all just so frustrating. Nothing was going right and it just seemed as if the universe was conspiring against her. All over things she couldn't control. She had almost given up entirely when Guel swept the floor with her in her stolen Mobile Suit.
It all just seemed so pointless, up until the point where Suletta Mercury infiltrated the dueling field and stole her mobile suit back.
Of course, she never actually expected the mercurian transfer student to actually win said duel and become her fiancee. But Miorine figured that right around then was when her opinion of Suletta actually started to shift.
She felt quite foolish looking back. It was as obvious as the blazing sun in the celestial sky what kind of person her fiancee was. A foolish idiot that wore her emotions on her sleeve and a heart of gold to go along with it. She shined even brighter than the burning sphere of gas that sat in the center of their solar system. Sweeping people up in her pace as she moved forward without looking back.
Miorine felt the changes churning beneath the surface before anyone else did. It wasn't some sort of vow that she made herself swear or some other odd oath, but she decided early on that she wasn't going to be swept along the mercurian girl's pace, intended or not. She would be right there by her side the entire way. Supporting her in ways she could while also letting her pave her own path.
Which of course, led to the present.
Miorine Rembran was watching her fiancee, Suletta Mercury, talk with the ice prince, Elan Ceres.
Alone.
It was infuriating.
Why exactly was it infuriating was a question that Miorine didn't have an answer to. All she knew was that the entire thing put her in a bad mood. It felt as if a dark bottomless pit had formed in her stomach and was sucking in any sort of positive emotion and spitting it back out in bouts of anxiety. An absolutely revolting feeling that she couldn't yet pinpoint.
He was an enemy. One in both his house and his dueling pedigree. The chances of him actually being interested in talking to Suletta was slim to none. Not because Suletta wasn't interesting to talk to. She was, albeit Miorine would never say that to Suletta's face, it was instead far more likely that he was just trying to gather information about her Mobile Suit so he could beat her in a duel.
Something was said between the two that caused Suletta to erupt in laughter. A toothy smile formed on her face.
Miorine already regretted saying yes to her fiancee's request to 'hang out' with the ice prince. She knew there wasn't anything between the two, at least from Suletta's side. Anyone with eyes could see that. But knowing that didn't stop that uncomfortable storm from brewing whenever people like Elan or Guel so openly interacted with her.
Even Nika had said to her that she had nothing to worry about. Which was odd since Miorine couldn't remember saying something that would give off the impression that she was worried. Suletta could handle herself in a duel, even if she was clueless in other aspects. So what exactly did she think Miorine would worry about?
She sighed. Usually she would find other things to do in her free time like studying or planning an escape to Earth. Although that latter one had been put on the backburner for now. Watching two people 'hang out' (she refused to call it a date) like some sort of voyeur or stalker was not something she wanted to make a habit of.
That darned list of Suletta's was making her do weird things.
Miorine had nearly lost track of how much time she had spent watching the two. Likely not more than an hour. Nothing extraordinary had really happened in the time, which alleviated some worries that she didn't even know she had.
She closed her book, one that she hadn't even made a single page of progress on, and was about to head off and leave the two alone when she saw it.
Elan Ceres had made his move.
He had taken one of Suletta's hands into his own and was moving it slowly towards his lips.
The absolute fiend was planning on making a move on her fiancee!
"Suletta!" Miorine had called out, her body moving towards the pair before she even realized what had happened.
Two pairs of eyes turned to stare at her, one in confusion and one in concealed annoyance. It came to no surprise to the white haired girl that the ice prince was the latter.
"Mio?" The red-haired girl said.
Miorine's eye twitched at the cutely annoying nickname. She was momentarily at a loss of words, she hadn't meant to interrupt them, but she wasn't just going to let things play out. It took her a brief second to regain her composure, but she spoke without falter.
"The Earth house wanted you for something regarding Aerial." She lied, coming up with a reason for interrupting out of thin air.
"Oh! Okay!" Suletta eagerly nodded, disentangling her hand from Elan's with an excited jump. "Sorry Elan, we can talk later!"
"Yes. Perhaps sometime later." The ice prince muttered, his blank stare centered on Miorine.
Suletta had already started wandering off towards the Earth house, which allowed Miorine to return Elan's blank stare with an icy glare. She broke it off quickly before she jogged a couple of steps to get in line with Suletta, and grabbed her hand, clasping it within her own.
"M-Mio?!" Suletta gasped in surprise.
The white haired girl ignored her friend for a moment to once again look back at the ice prince. The message she had sent was clear to anyone except the person in question themselves.
Back off.
With that, Miorine turned herself and marched off to the Earth house, dragging along a confused Suletta as she did.
On their way back to the dorms, the mercurian girl had attempted to make some sort of conversation as the two walked, but Miorine was too lost in her bad mood to gather the energy to respond. She didn't even know why she was in such a bad mood or seeing the two like that, she just knew that it made her feel all sorts of negative things.
"He's probably just jealous!"
"No way we've been together for ages, it can't be that…"
Miorine ignored the loud ramblings of two girls that they passed by. The things people talked about were of no concern to her, especially something as insignificant as jealousy and relationships.
The white haired girl froze.
"Mio what is it?" Suletta asked. Miorine didn't respond.
For some reason that train of thought sparked a chord within her. Relationships were certainly something she barely put time into, but the fact of the matter was she had someone like Suletta as her fiancee, someone she actually enjoyed being around. So perhaps, it wasn't so far of a stretch to say she was jealous of her spending time with others.
But her? Miorine Rembran? Jealous?
That just… there was no way…
She had to test it. By spending time with Suletta. If that caused her bad mood to go away then she would admit (to herself) that she was jealous. If not then she would cross that bridge when she got there. Her logic was flawless.
"Suletta." She called out to her red haired friend.
"Y-Yes?! Are you angry that I called you Mio?! I'm sorry I just thought it was a cute nickname!" Suletta rambled in a panic.
That… was a topic for another day. She just needed to figure out how to word what she wanted to say. Perhaps she could just wing it?
"Don't go out on dates with others." Miorine said.
"Ah… O-Okay?" Suletta responded confused.
Miorine frowned. That wasn't exactly what she wanted to say. But it seemed to get the point across. She just needed to finish it by conveying how she wanted to try spending time together.
"I'm your fiancee, so only go on dates with me." She finished.
"E-Eh?"
…Wait.
That came out wrong.
Miorine's face erupted in a blush as she realized the implications of what she just said. "W-Wait that's not-"
"Really?!" Suletta asked, closing the distance between their faces. Excitement was radiating off her face in waves.
"I-I don't…"
"You mean it right?! A real date?!"
Miorine felt her heart squeeze at the pure joy and anticipation the girl was expressing. How was she supposed to say no to that? She couldn't. It's impossible. No one in the universe could resist such a thing.
She put a hand over her face in a half-successful attempt to cover up just how red her cheeks had become. "I… I guess…" She trailed off, unable to say no to the excitable girl.
"Okay!" Suletta said, giving Miorine a glowing smile. "I'm going to get ready right now! I'll meet you in an hour at your dorm!" The mercurian girl finished before rushing off.
"Huh?" Miorine blinked. Did she just get a date?
That… was what she planned on happening, just not at all how she envisioned it. Nor did she expect to go on it so quickly. In an hour? How was she supposed to get ready in an hour? Did Suletta even have any plans in mind? Miorine sure didn't.
The white haired girl took a deep breath to calm her rapidly beating heart. Her face felt hot and there was a slight fluttering feeling in her stomach. Gone was her bad mood, instead replaced by a hesitant anticipation and anxiousness for her suddenly created plans.
Miorine Rembran didn't do dating.
But with someone like Suletta Mercury, perhaps she could try it out.

Cute couple is cute. If you're from the future and are reading this, Episode 6 just aired for the anime. This is set sometime after episode 3 but to be frank this is just some cute one-shots I'm going to write so it probably won't even strictly follow canon with any future episodes coming out. Thanks for reading and thanks to the FF staff for adding this new category so quickly. Sent the email and they added it all in less than a day!
