RonaldM40196867: No. The only real complaint I have with Avatar are two clunky lines, Ty Lee's "You're not prettier than we are," which in fairness could be to show how terrible she is at trash talk, and Zuko's "No lightning today? What's the matter, afraid I'll redirect it?" In the finale.

Matheus Bezerra de Lima: I've gone back over that section so it should be clearer now. Thanks!

As Always, Please Review, and we pick up our story as the Avatar and his mount crash at high speed from a great height into the sea...

In the confined space of the room, the force of Azula's thunderbolt stunned and deafened them all. Those closest to her were thrown backwards, landing with a thump on the floor.

Azula took advantage of their shock to jump out of the window, without even looking back.

"AANG!" Katara shouted, rushing to the window, with the rest of the group not far behind her. Below them, Azula ran away towards the nearest fence. Zuko looked down, and sent a blast of flame towards her that she easily dodged. And then she was gone, leaving one lightly smouldering hedge behind her.

"Follow her!" The Firelord commanded wildly, and several guards nodded and ran out of the room. Meanwhile, Aang had turned Appa away and the great beast was now limping towards the outskirts of the city.

"He's going for an emergency landing in the sea!" Sokka realised.

They watched the Avatar limp over the crest of the Caldera for a little longer, filled with worry, until Appa suddenly stopped- and dropped like a stone.

"Aang!" Katara called again, though she knew that the Avatar could not hear her. "We have to find him!"

No further discussion was necessary.

The city had suddenly gone very quiet, as a sense of shock settled over the previously angry masses. Nobody had expected things to go this far, clearly. As the group ran past scores of people, all of them were just standing there unsure of what to do. The rage that had engulfed the city had abruptly vanished.

They passed a square, where they recognised the younger of Azula's co-conspirators stood on top of a fountain trying to tell everybody about what he had heard in the palace, but despite his voice ringing out into otherwise total silence, it was clear that nobody was listening. The elder man, the one who had fallen off Appa, by contrast, lay on the floor being tended to by men in the uniform of the City Watch. Nobody paid him much mind.

It was like that in every street they ran down, in every alley that they passed; everywhere, the quite literal downfall of the Avatar had completely taken the charge out of the situation, and shock reigned.

Katara led the way, a look of wild desperation on her face. The others followed behind, only marginally less worried about their friend. As they entered the port, they saw a row of sailors and port staff lined up along the water's edge, peering into the sea. Their body language screamed concern. Already, some of them were in the process of launching lifeboats, but Katara got there first. She pushed her way past the crowd, and did not stop until she had reached the water's edge. She braced herself, and pushed.

The water responded to her command, receding from the shoreline to expose the seafloor. Wrecks of ships that must have dated back centuries were exposed, some wooden sailing ships with masts rising out of the silt, and other remains of metal steamships that must have sunk during the war. There were some familiar looking submarines, now thick with rust, but no matter how far Katara pushed, Aang was not there.

Katara let the water flow back in again, and was just about to jump in to search for him when Sokka caught her arm.

"What?" She wheeled to face him. "Are you lot going to just stand there? Aang needs us!"

"I don't think Aang is here," her brother replied gently.

"What do you mean? We all saw him crash!" Katara shouted, and tried to turn away to jump in.

"Surely you would have found him by now if he was," Suki added.

"Maybe the water pushed him away? Let go of me, you're wasting time and Aang needs me!"

"Look," Sokka said firmly. "Aang isn't here."

"How do you know?" Katara shouted. "He must be!"

The others exchanged worried looks.

"What?" Katara demanded irritably. "When he crashed before, a hundred years ago, he had the Avatar State to save him so we found him but now he's lost his bending so we need to hurry up-"

"But he hasn't lost the use of the Avatar State," Suki pointed out. "He became Kyoshi, remember?"

"Suki!" Sokka hissed. "She was unconscious!"

"What's your point?" Katara asked.

"If he was here, surely the Avatar State would have kicked in and there would be a big glowing ball of ice down there, or he'd have just flown back out of the water with his eyes and tattoos glowing," Zuko told her.

"And he isn't," Sokka added.

"But if he's not down there," Mai gestured to the water, "Then where is he?"

Aang woke up with a pounding headache.

He groaned, and opened his eyes to see a cloudless blue sky stretching away above him. Sitting up, he saw Appa lying beside him, grunting in pain with every movement.

"Appa!" Aang jumped up, and winced as pain flared. "Come on boy, everything is going to be alright!"

He paused as the reality of his situation set in, and looked around. "Where are we?"

The last he had seen, he had been about a hundred metres off the coast of the Fire Nation capital city. Now, he was in a vast ocean, on what appeared to be a small island. He looked back and saw a verdant rainforest behind him.

He did not need to see that the island had a wake to know immediately where he was. He turned and began to walk away from the wake, towards the front of the island.

To where the Lion Turtle was no doubt waiting for him.
