I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC
Hello guys, Badger here. I couldn't sleep, so I decided to write the second chapter for this chill fanfic. I'm happy to see a few people enjoyed the first chapter of this series. I don't know how long this series will last, but I'm sure it will be fun either way.
That is all I have to say, I hope you enjoy the second chapter.
Chapter 2
Harry yawned as he made his way into the kitchen. It was the early in the morning and he was feeling hungry. As he was preparing himself some cereal, he heard something scuttling across the floor. Seeing movement under the kitchen counters, Harry got down onto the ground and looked through the gaps under the counters and jumped back at what he saw.
"Fucking hell!" He exclaimed, jumping up onto the dining table
He continued staring at the gaps below the counters, expecting to see movement at any second. It was that moment where James entered the kitchen, moving his long hair out of his face, as he put on an eye patch to cover his missing eye, before stopping, looking confused at the sight before him, with Harry standing on the table.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asked, startling Harry to jump
"Oh…um…" Harry said, trying to think of an answer "I was…cleaning the ceiling…because it was dirty…"
"Mmhmm, sure" James rolled his eyes "now tell me the real reason why you are on the table…looking as pale as Malfoy used to be"
"Okay, well…there is a spider below the kitchen counters" Harry replied, pointing to the counter in question
"A spider?" James repeated, looking amused "You're seriously scared of a little spider…Harry, from what you told me about Aragog, he was a massive tarantula twice the size of Hagrid…of course, I was petrified so I don't know how truthful you were being, but you are scared of a little house spider?"
"Oh, you think this is funny?" Harry asked "Take a look for yourself!"
James rolled his eyes, before he approached the kitchen counter. He got down on the floor and looked under the counter and a second later, screamed as he jumped up onto the table next to Harry.
"Dear, fucking, Merlin" He exclaimed "Harry, that's not a spider, that's what happens when an Acromantula and a Blast Ended Skrewt decided to breed…where the fuck did it come from?"
"I don't know" Harry replied "We have to do something though"
"What is going on here?" A voice asked
Harry and James looked to see Daphne standing in the doorway, a mix of amusement and confusion on her face, as she looked at the two of them standing on the kitchen table. She surveyed the sight before her for a moment, and sighed, before speaking.
"I'm going to regret asking this but, what are you doing?" She asked
"Umm…the floor is lava?" James replied, his voice slightly high pitch, as he came up with the first thing that came to his mind
Harry looked at James, with a incredulous look on his face, before rolling his eyes and turned back to Daphne who was tapping her foot, waiting for an answer.
"Look, there is some kind of…mutant spider, underneath the kitchen counters" Harry said
"Oh, it got out of its cage?" Daphne asked, walking over to the counter
"What do you mean?" James asked
"Look, Hagrid asked me to keep a creature safe, until he can find a suitable home for it" Daphne replied, conjuring a cage and guiding the creature into the cage
"Hagrid?" Harry repeated, as he and James got off of the table "Daphne, you know that Hagrid's creatures can be…temperamental, I mean just look at Aragog, how come you didn't tell us?"
"Didn't think you two would care" Daphne shrugged, putting the cage with the creature in a safe location "besides, this creature is relatively safe, compared to some of Hagrid's other creatures"
"How long has it been here, anyway?" James asked
"About two weeks" Daphne replied
Harry and James stood there, dumbfounded. They looked at one another for a moment, before looking at Daphne.
"Let me get this straight" James said "You have had this…thing for two weeks, kept in a cage…how come me and Harry didn't notice it?"
"I could kill a man and place his dead body in the middle of the room and it would take you guys, at least, a month until you notice it" Daphne rolled her eyes "You two are just so oblivious at times"
"Well, she has us there" Harry shrugged
"Yes, I do" Daphne smirked "Now if you don't mind, I'm going to get ready for the day"
…
Done. What did you guys think?
I know this chapter may not make sense or seem a bit strange, but that is what happens when I am unable to sleep, my mind just goes a bit weird. When writing this chapter, I remembered that James had long hair and was missing an eye, fans of A Different Hogwarts Experience will know, so I had to do a quick rewrite, as the original has James 'rubbing the sleep from his eyes' and putting eyedrops in both of them.
That is all for now. I hope you enjoyed. Remember, if you have any ideas to include in this series, feel free to leave requests.
