Had Enough.
Another peaceful day on Bygone Island. The residents here are going on with their day with no struggle or fear on their mind. Everything is peachy.
Or so we thought.
"KABOOM!"
A big explosion was heard just at the edge of town, and small robots that looked like crabs started to invade the streets of the small town. And not far behind, on a small floating ship that is shaped like a metal ball, comes Doctor Eggman.
"Muhahahahahah! This time! And I mean it! This time there is nothing stopping me from taking this town apart! Not even Sonic, and his friends! I can feel this is the day I've been waiting for!"
Doctor Eggman is all high and mighty as he goes on shooting laser beams at the buildings and after the residents, who are running for their dear life.
"Sayyyy… Eggman. Aren't you getting tired of repeating yourself each time you try to rip the town apart? Plus, there are other ways for you to get my attention. Like sending me a letter or knock on my door. No need to drag the townpeoples into this."
Doctor Eggman turns his head quickly to look from where the voice came from and to see its owner. Right there, not far behind him, actually right behind him on his small ship, stands the blue male hedgehog by the name Sonic.
Sonic chuckles at the Doctor's reaction when he sees he got a blind passenger.
"Bang! Bang! Crash!"
Some other sounds were now heard on the other side of Doctor Eggman, and once again he turns his head to see what all the noises were coming from.
Just as he turns his head, one of his robots comes flying past his head, and as it flies into the mountain it explodes.
The one who sent the robot flying was one of Sonic's friends. A pink female hedgehog, holding a big hammer over her shoulder. She goes by the name Amy Rose.
"Oh, so you have no problems giving Eggman tips on how he can reach you, but not me, huh Sonic?"
Amy gave Sonic a small glare. Amy got a thing for Sonic, she has for many years actually. And tries often to win his affection or get his attention, but with no luck. Sonic just isn't the romantic type of guy, and when Amy gets too much for him, is he on the run. And he runs far away from her as fast as he can. And it's like that every single time.
"Oh come on Amy. I was joking, you know that."
Sonic gives a small nervous laugh while he scratches behind his ear. Trying to play it cool. Amy rolls her eyes and swings her hammer to the side she happens to look at as another robot comes towards her. That one went flying just like the first one.
Doctor Eggman takes the chance to get Sonic off his ship, as Sonic got distracted with chitchat. He makes a loop so Sonic falls off, but he lands on the ground with ease, and even rolls into a blue ball and tackles a robot himself. Doctor Eggman growls as his robots are getting handled like child's play.
"Hey Sonic. We're done in the center of town. There are no more robots here."
Sonic's small male fox friend, Tails, calls him over his communicator to tell that him and Knuckles have taken care of things. Knuckles the male echidna can be heard in the background yelling.
"Yeah! Take that, you dumb crab that I can't eat."
Knuckles isn't the smartest one of the group, but he is strong and always ready to kick robot butt. Then another voice could be heard in the background. One that was yelling in a high pitched voice.
"HIIIIIIYAR! Take that you uneatable crab!"
The voice belongs to the last friend of the group, Sticks, a wild female badger, that happens to be almost the same level of IQ as Knuckles.
"Well that sounds all good. Then it's just you left Eggman."
Sonic looks up at Doctor Eggman with a smirk, and is ready to do a Spin Dash at him. Sonic rolls into a blue ball, and with high speed charge at Doctor Eggman. But was blocked just as he was about to hit him, by a red spinning ball.
Sonic lands back on the ground next to Amy. Him and Amy look up to see what blocked his attack.
There on the rooftop of a building, is a dark silhouette of another hedgehog. This hedgehog on the other hand, isn't near as friendly as Sonic and Amy.
The dark silhouette crosses its arms and huff.
"Tsh. What a pathetic attempt. You were too easy to block, blue boy."
Says the dark hedgehog, while he looks down on Sonic with a glare.
This mysterious black and red hedgehog is none other than Shadow. Standing there looking down on everyone and doesn't give a fuck about anything.
"Shadow! So glad you could come. And thanks for blocking that attack. You're a lifesaver."
Doctor Eggman says cheerful as he sees Shadow on his side.
"Shut up, fool. I'm not here to help you."
Growls Shadow as he gives Eggman a glare as well. Eggman makes a nervous chuckle just like Sonic did a while ago and tries to play it cool as well. Acting like this is how they normally talk. Bro talk.
"Soooo… if you're not here to help Eggman, then why are you here Shadow? Did you miss me?"
Asks Sonic with a smirk while he rubs a finger under his nose. Amy peeks at Sonic with a baffle look. Hearing him talk like that to others, in a flirty way, and special toward guys. Shadow on the other hand looks at him with disgust.
"You must have a big ego to believe anyone would miss a Faker like you."
Shadow narrows his eyes at Sonic.
"Hey now. We been over this so many times. I'm not the Faker here, you are. And I believe you got a bigger ego than me as you keep calling yourself the World's Ultimate Life Form. I mean who does that?"
Says Sonic while he lifts his shoulder, looking over to Amy to get an agreement from her.
"Well, Shadow is the World's Ultimate Life Form, so he can easily brag about it if he wants. But you on the other hand are acting a bit immature right now. But that's just your thing, I guess."
Says Amy and is the one lifting her shoulder this time. Making Sonic stare at her like she said something crazy.
That remark made Shadow smirk, and he quickly looks away as everyone turns their eyes to him. Thinking that same thing, did Shadow just chuckle?
Shadow huff and jumps over to another rooftop, getting ready to leave.
"Hey Shadow. We're not done here. I'm taking you on."
Yells Sonic after him and gets in a fighting pose. Doctor Eggman claps his hands in enjoyment, ready to see the two hedgehogs getting at each other.
"Not happening. I can't take you seriously right now. As your… lady friend said, you're immature. Besides, I know I can take you on any day. I just don't feel like it today."
Shadow peeks over his shoulder with a small smirk, and teleports away. Doctor Eggman looks around to see if he can see the dark hedgehog, but he is gone. He then looks over towards Sonic and Amy that got a look on their face, telling him they are ready to fight if he wants a fight.
"Grrrrrrr! Until next time Sonic the hedgehog. I will get you. Oh, and of course you too, Amy Rose. Just wait and see!"
And he quickly flies off into the distance. Leaving the town behind, while Sonic and Amy stand there watching to make sure he is gone. And the residents come out cheering that the danger is over. Cheering Sonic and Amy on.
Amy sees that Tails, Knuckles and Sticks comes to join them. She walks over towards them. Sonic sees them as well, and tries to get out of the crowd to join his friends.
As he gets free, he runs up next to Amy and their friends, he asks her.
"What was that all about?"
Amy looks at him.
"What was?"
"What you said to Shadow. That."
He looks at her a bit offended over what she said not long ago. Tails, Knuckles and Sticks peek their ears to this and lean in a little closer. Tails then asks.
"What did she say?"
Sonic looks at his fox friend while stretching his arms out towards Amy and says.
"She said it's okay for Shadow to brag about his ego, and that I'm immature."
"What? Is that all?"
Asks Sticks. Not really seeing a problem in it, or anything new about it. As even Sticks think Sonic can be immature from time to time. Tails is hiding his laugh, while Knuckles says.
"Oh, you mean that he is the World's Ultimate Life Form? Yeah, he can easily brag about that. I would as well if I were some kind of Life Form."
Sonic stands there in disbelief over their reaction, looking from the fox, to the badger, and then to the echidna.
"Listen Sonic. I just pointed out some facts. Shadow has an ego just like you have. You're just more immature than he is on some things."
Sighs Amy as she cross her arms, explaining herself to him. He lifts an eyebrow at her and cross his arms as well and asks.
"Oh really? So what makes me so immature?"
"1, you always joke around when someone is trying to be serious about something. 2, you often act like a spoiled kid. 3, you think more about your image when you're in front of the townspeople, but are lazy and rude when you're around us. 4, you don't always respect us and blow us off from time to time. 5, you hardly do any good gesture on your own, unless we push you to do it or to boost your image. 6, and this is what tricker me the most. You flirt with everyone else but me. Just now, you were telling Eggman what he could do to get your attention. And acted flirty towards Shadow with the line, did you miss me? And here I am, who has tried for nearly 7 years to get any romantic reaction from you. But nope, each time I try to, you run off like your ass is on fire. I could keep on, but these 6 points bugs me the most. And if that isn't immature, then I don't know what is."
For each point Amy makes, she flips a finger to keep track. Sticks got her arms cross and nods to each point. Knuckles and Tails can almost feel the burn that Sonic is feeling from hearing this. He is quiet for a while as for once he isn't sure what to reply.
Amy sighs.
"I'm starting to wonder, why do I even keep trying. It's been, like I said, 7 years now, and I still haven't gotten a single sign from you about your feelings. But I guess that's too much to ask for. You clearly haven't grown over the years."
Amy is angry, disappointed, and hurt. For once she tried to make it fully clear for Sonic what she was hoping for. But he couldn't handle on it. He tried to talk, but it was mumble. Again, Amy sighs and turns around and starts to walk away.
"I will take my leave now. I need some fresh air to think and to be alone. Good night."
She walked away, leaving the group of friends behind. Tails tries to think of something to say, but Knuckles was faster.
"Wait… Sonic likes Shadow? Or is it Amy who likes Sonic?"
Tails and Sticks face slaps themselves, while for Sonic, to hear it in more simple words, he now better understands what it's all about.
Thinking for a moment, he smiles for himself, playing it cool once again and says.
"Yeah, I knew she liked me. But she isn't ready to handle all of me. She just needs time to calm down, and she will be back. She always comes back. She will wait for me till I'm ready to give her my all."
Sonic says with self confidence and a big smile. Thinking he knows Amy better than anyone else. As they have known each other for 7 years. Tails then taps Sonic on his shoulder and asks.
"But what now if she got tired of waiting? 7 years is a long time to wait."
Sonic kinda panics a little on the inside, but quickly puts that idea aside and says.
"That won't happen. Amy likes me."
He gives Tails a thumb up, but his thumb lower again as Sticks boldly says.
"Naa, you lost your chance."
Sticks places both her hands on the backside of her head and walks off. It's getting late, so she is heading home. Knuckles yawns and gives his butt a scratch before he heads home as well. He waves his hand over his shoulder and says.
"Well, good night and good luck with Shadow, or Amy."
Sonic and Tails standing behind as their friends leave them for the night.
The blue hedgehog looks over to the small fox, and Tails is almost sure that Sonic looks more blue then normal. Anxiety is plaster all over Sonic's face, as he asks Tails.
"She will be back, right?"
