Archer Guard kneaded his brow in frustration as he hunched over a simple wood desk. His dirty blond hair seemed to cover up half of his face as he did so, yet miraculously he could still see. Time was of the essence, and yet here he was locked away in the Romance section of the library, a small hideaway, where he hoped to regain the Emperor's favor.
Archer remembered the ordeal well. Alathor, the strongest wild witch in the region had evaded his grasp once again, and the Emperor grew tired of such failures. Dressed in his Golden Guard Uniform, Archer entered the dark throne room, his head bowed in shame. This was his master, his creator, and he knew very well he could be replaced at any moment. A tendril of Palismin magic snaked up to knock off his Guard Mask. Archer shivered in fear as the tendril began to snake around his throat.
"You have failed me once more, child," Emperor Belos barked, squeezing the tendril around the boy's neck, "I should do away with you," Belos was now nose to nose with Archer, before giving a soft grin, "But how difficult it would be to make another replacement. Perhaps a new apprentice is in order. Should you succeed you may just live."
The Emperor had set for him a near impossible task. Still, this was his final chance, and he was going to take it as far as he could. Returning to the present, Archer leaned back in a wooden chair, and continued reading, browsing through the restricted book, Kings Among Witches, Powerful Spells for Powerful Witches.
Blinking the sleep from his eyes, Archer jolted himself awake as he stumbled across what he was looking for, The Young and Faithful. 'This spell creates the perfect servant. Intelligent and faithful, the Human is the ideal companion for an all mighty witch. As they are magic-less nor fear of rebellion is needed. Warning- this spell is a once in 1,000 years spell. Cast at your own risk!'
