As the red haired pirates are getting ready to leave. Their captain "red hair" Shanks is once again talking to young Luffy again.

Is it true?. Your leaving, and never coming back? Asked Luffy to Shanks.

Seems like it huh?. I take it your going to miss us Luffy? Asked Shanks to Luffy.

Yep said Luffy with a smile.

You still want to join my crew Luffy? Asked Shanks.

Nope said Luffy.

Good to know said Shanks.

I've decided to instead of becoming a pirate. I'll be a marine someday said Luffy.

Why join the marines Luffy? Asked Shanks with a smile.

Because I wish to protect and save lives said Luffy.

And what about us pirates? Asked Shanks.

I'll only go after bad pirates. Not good pirates Shanks said Luffy with a smile.

So me and the gang are safe from you huh?. Good to know said Shanks.

Sisisi laughed Luffy.

I hope you make a great marine someday Luffy said Shanks.

I'm going to be more than that Shanks. I'm going to be the greatest marine fleet admiral in the world someday said Luffy with a smile.

Worlds greatest marine fleet admiral huh?. Very well then in that case. As a token of my respect for your new dreams. I give you my straw hat to wear said Shanks as he puts his straw hat on Luffy's head.

Promise me. When you become a great marine fleet admiral. That you will return this hat to me when the day comes for it. Think you can keep that promise. Luffy? Asked Shanks.

Yes. Sir said Luffy with some tears falling from his eyes.

Just like that Shanks walked away to meet his crew.

How long do ya think it will take until he finds out how dark the world government really is? Asked Benn beckman the vice captain of the red haired pirates.

Not sure myself. But when he does learn about it. I have great faith he'll change it into a government full of those who will fight for true justice. Until we meet again. Luffy said Shanks as he and the crew set sail to the great unknown.

And so after that day Luffy asked his grandfather monkey D Garp to train him in the ways of the marines.

Garp agreed to train him the best way he can.

As days go by. Luffy later meets two boys older than him. Their names are Ace and Sabo.

As the days go by the three boys soon become brothers. It was the best thing to ever happen to them...

Until. BOOM!.

Sabo's fishing boat gets shot at by a passing celestial dragons ship.

Luffy and Ace soon learned that the world government serves the celestial dragons.

Hearing this Luffy swore to take down the celestial dragons after becoming the next marine fleet admiral someday.

Until that day comes. He will become stronger than ever.

This was the day. Luffy learned how dark the world government really is.

As days go by Luffy became stronger and stronger each passing day. Even with his rubber body.

As weeks and months go by Luffy learned soru, geppo, iron body and paper arts.

As years go by Luffy learned how to use the three forms of haki.

After Luffy turned 17. It was time for him to leave.

[At the docks]

Luffy's wearing a white sleeveless vest. Black paints. Sandals and his straw hat Shanks gave him all those years ago.

Ok Luffy here's your first mission as a marine petty officer. You are to head out to shells town to meet up with someone at the base for a look around it.

Then report back to me. Do you understand? Asked Garp.

Yes grandpa said Luffy.

Good. Now remember. I managed to poll enough strings to get you permission to form your own unit. Keep in mind leadership is hard as hell. Can you truly manage it? Asked Garp.

Yes sir saluted Luffy.

Good. Now then. If you see any pirates along the way to shells town. You take them out fast understand? Asked Garp.

Sir yes sir saluted Luffy.

Great. Now then. Take care Luffy. That's an order said Garp.

Yes sir saluted Luffy before heading onboard his marine boat field with food and money.

Remember Luffy. Just because you have 30,000 Barrie's doesn't mean you should waste it ok? Asked Garp.

Yes grandpa said Luffy.

Good. Now off you go said Garp.

Yes sir saluted Luffy.

Just like that Luffy set sails to shells town. What great adventures will Luffy go on?. Who will join his marine unit?. How many enemies will Luffy and his unit make?.
