Chapter 2: I went Father Hunting for my Baby

After Dora ran out of the house, Kai looked at Cecilia with serious look.

"Kai listen I can explain…." Cecilia started to say.

"Why did you lie to me about Dora? What do you mean you don't want me to be caught in her mess?"

"Look, I like you Kai, I really do. And Dora's life is already crazy what with her being pregnant and knowing who the dad really is. And her parents aren't the best people."

"No offense Cecilia, you're a nice girl and all, but I don't like you that way."

"But…but what does Dora have that I don't?"

Kai still rejected her and feeling awkward left the house.

Alternate scene

I was at the bookstore, looking for some books on parenting. I found one, but why did they have to put them so high? It's inconsiderate. Suddenly someone grabbed the book and handed it to me. I was about to thank this good Samaritan, when I looked up and saw Kai.

"Hey, Dora…" "Sorry Kai. I have to go."

And I quickly turned around to leave.

"Dora wait."

And he hurried after me.

"Look Kai, I already have a lot to deal with right now. And I can't be dragged into anymore drama, plus I don't want to go into another coma."

And I left Kai looking confused.

Added scene

Kai was confused and curious about what Dora meant. So, he decided to see Cecilia to get some answered. After telling her about what Dora had said, she turned pale.

"All right. Dora and I got into an argument. I was jealous that you were spending so much time with her. And when she said that you liked her instead of me, I got so mad I…I pushed her."

Kai couldn't believe his ears.

"You pushed your pregnant friend down a flight of stairs, and put her into a coma."

"Kai please…"

"You're definitely not the kind of girl I want."

And he turned around and left her dumbfounded. As Kai walked down the streets, a store caught his eye. It was a store that sold everything needed for a baby. So, he went in, and began going on a shopping spree.

Epilogue

Kai and I were having a delightful time living together, while waiting for the baby to arrive. Kai was very sweet to me, serving me breakfast in bed, massaging my back, rubbing my feet, and helping me with maternity training classes.

As the months went by, my belly grew bigger and bigger. I was starting to get a little anxious about becoming a mom, but Kai assured me that everything would be okay. One evening, while I was watching TV, I suddenly felt like I had just wet myself.

I immediately knew what that meant, and I quickly called Kai.

After grabbing my suitcase, we quickly got into the car, and drove to the hospital. Luckily there wasn't much traffic, so we got there in a descent amount of time. The next thing I knew, I was being pushed in a wheelchair by a nurse, with Kai holding my hand.

After a couple hours, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

"You were great, Dora." Kai told me.

I smiled, and replied,

"I'm glad you were here, Kai."

"So, what're we gonna name him?"

"Well, I'm thinking he looks like a, Paxton."

"Paxton? I still think Kai Jr. would be better, but Paxton it is."

We hugged each other, as I cuddled Paxton in my arms.
