Three Days Before Dark Ruby Made Her Move
Rosalina sat underneath the tree on the hill near her home, looking up at the clouds. Diablo rested next to her as she continued to look up at the clouds, deep in thought.
"Rata anna iska ricrota atta, anna gopor itta cikaora ikka qwerto ista jiktra buskara. Colaco moofa!" (As I was watching you, I took the time to study this new ability. Cosmic energy!)
Rosalina clenched her fists. "That does not belong to you."
"Rik atta vontrare, anna horrto grissan itta akka jolovartna." (On the contrary, I bore witness to the supernova.)
"Supernova… where are you going with this?"
"Ikka yuka wenklai olpoto… debvar ista jikka redkloa keru atta letrunoka." (It was locked away… never to be activated for a century.) Raven Beak let out a chuckle. "Poloto urtona!" (Until now!)
"You what?!" Samus exclaimed in horror.
"Anna haroko grustan akka colaco moofa… asta anna jintro loryta ikka inka yedora atta runstraki klerto ghensti, Hosella." (I have trained with this cosmic energy… and I have used it in ways you possibly couldn't have imagined, Rosalina.)
Rosalina gritted her teeth. "You're bluffing. You haven't figured anything out… you're just saying that to terrify u-" Raven Beak suddenly disappeared, causing Rosalina to gasp as Raven Beak appeared behind her.
"Litta anna uston?" (Am I now?)
Raven Beak grabbed her by the throat, and then with a snap of his fingers, he suddenly produced cosmic clones of himself.
"Shit!" Samus cursed.
"ANNA MANN KROSTRA IKKA UNTA COLOCOA!" (I AM KING OF THE COSMOS!)
"Mmm…" Rosalina opened her eyes. Could it be true that Raven Beak could have managed to find a way to have sped up the process? It takes a century for the power to be back at full capacity, but… there was no way he managed to do that.
After all, he was just one Chozo hellbent on destroying everything. But surely he was bluffing just to terrify everyone.
Of course, she remembered the ultimate beating Raven Beak gave her, powerless to stop him no matter what she threw at him. If it wasn't for Samus intervening, she wouldn't be here. It was enough to make Rosalina's skin crawl… surely, her supernova powers weren't back in play. It was back in hibernation after Samus took it out of Raven Beak, right?
Rosalina pursed her lips as she stood up. She had to know. Get her mind off things, hope that she wasn't a ticking time bomb so soon.
She walked down the hill before levitating off the ground, heading straight for the Observatory.
Once she entered the Observatory, she power walked straight for the core and then looked at the screen before her. She pressed "Scan power" on the screen as it started to scan her. Rosalina held her breath, waiting for the moment of truth.
"Scan complete: Cosmic Power - 100%. Supernova Power - 100%"
Rosalina could've sworn she felt her heart stop. "No… no, scan again!" She pleaded, hoping it was just a glitch as it scanned her power again.
"Scan complete: Cosmic Power - 100%. Supernova Power - 100%"
Rosalina felt her stomach turn. No… there was no way it could be real. This had to be a joke. It had to be…
Rosalina closed her eyes as she decided to do some maintenance on the Observatory, hoping that there was some kind of cosmic bug that managed to creep its way into the Observatory's database.
Once the maintenance was done, Rosalina took a deep breath… fully confident that she didn't have her supernova back quite so soon and Raven Beak was just messing with her as she did another scan.
"Scan complete: Cosmic Power - 100%. Supernova Power -"
Rosalina held her breath, hoping the numbers would be single digits. A big fat zero."
"100%"
Rosalina felt the life sucked out of her. The color on her face looked as if it had evaporated. Her legs turned to jelly as she collapsed. She looked at her own hands in fear, flashing back to when she used her Supernova powers for the first time. When she almost used it again at Aperture… and then unleashed cosmic hell on Ridley and Dark Samus when they pushed her over the edge.
Raven Beak's cosmic powers flashed in her mind. The cosmic punches that felt like she got hit by a five ton space truck, her force field being canceled out by just a snap of his fingers…
The Neutron Star he just so casually shot into the air…
There was no doubt about it. He managed to find a way to speed up the process and unlocked it, using it against her… and if he had succeeded with destroying SPBRR and WARCY, there was no doubt about it. He would have easily managed to shape the cosmos in his image… and it would never be the same again.
All it would take for Rosie to unleash the cosmic hellfire would be one bad day. Luckily, she's not one to get angry so easily, but when Dark Samus unleashed Phazon hell… her anger was slowly rising to the point where she was uncontrollable.
She failed to hear the sound of a heavenly light hitting the Observatory behind her as she was wallowing in her own despair.
"Rosie? Rosie!"
Rosalina put her hands over her hair, she was unsure of what to do.
"Rosie!"
A hand gently touched her shoulder, making her gasp loudly as she turned around to see Palutena behind her. "P-Palutena…"
"You're not looking so good…"
"I… have my reasons…"
Palutena looked at the computer screen, frowning at the results. "Yeah… I don't blame you. It looks like Raven Beak wasn't bluffing at all."
"What am I going to do? Usually I know what to do but… considering the last time it happened…" Her voice nearly broke. "I almost eradicated everyone. My family…"
"On the bright side, you didn't. Polari made sure of it." Palutena said. "...Speaking of which, where is he?"
"He's currently in the home building a new room dedicated for the Lumas… a playground, so to speak. Ruby, Byleth, Dorothea, Tai and Summer are helping out too."
"A playground in that five star hotel? Cute!" Palutena smiled. "...What floor, exactly?"
"I think the… second floor."
"Sounds about right. Anyway…" Palutena gently put her hands on Rosalina's shoulders. "There's no need to fret. This is honestly the perfect opportunity."
"What do you-"
"Think about it! Sure, you got the supernova and you had some horrific moments with them, not to mention the incident that almost happened at Aperture, but besides that… I say this is the perfect opportunity to play around with it, get it under control."
"Are… you sure?"
"Of course! You let the supernova control you both times… not that I blame you considering what happened at Fleet Glide, and from what you told me the first go around, I don't blame you either. Both times, you let the mama bear out. You grow so attached to the Lumas, you can't bear to see them get hurt… in fact, I've seen you get a bit protective of Ruby at times."
Rosalina blushed. "Yes…"
"However, maybe we can put a stop to this before it starts up again. Have you control it this time around. I mean, you've been able to control these powers for a millennia. I'm sure you have what it takes to control the supernova." She winked.
"That's the problem… supernovas are unpredictable. Stars collapse in on themselves all the time and-"
"Oh, I'm aware." Palutena smiled. "And while you yourself became unpredictable when you fought against Ridley and the Metroid Prime, perhaps you could quell the fiery inferno from within. Make it so that you don't accidentally destroy anything within a five lightyear radius."
"Yeah! Make the supernova obey you!" A voice said as they turned to see Ibuki walking in. "Ah, sorry, Ibuki wanted to come over to check on ya."
"You want to give it a shot? It'll give you peace of mind."
Rosalina thought about it before nodding. "Alright… I'll try to contain the supernova from within me." She said. "...Just one condition."
Palutena smiled. "You want to be far away from Remnant and from any galaxy just so you don't accidentally destroy it."
Rosalina nodded. "Yeah."
"Sounds like a plan." Palutena nodded.
"Oh, hang on. I need to do something real quick." She teleported into the home and wrote a note on the coffee table.
"Went to space for some meditation. I'll be back soon. - Rosie"
Rosalina teleported back to the Observatory and with a deep breath, the Observatory roared to life and flew off with Palutena and Ibuki in tow.
Several lightyears later…
"Okay, this should be good enough." Polari spoke up. "The nearest galaxy is Tree Trunk, but that's twenty lightyears away, so that's plenty of space for you to cut loose."
"We'll have the barrier up just in case." Palutena said as Rosalina nodded as she flew out into space.
"Alright…" Rosalina closed her eyes. "Here goes nothing…" She said, feeling the cosmic radiation course through her as her eyes started glowing. She clasped her hands together as cosmic radiation surrounded her hands. Deep breath… you got this…
"I'll provide some test dummies." Palutena said as some Monoeyes appeared in front of them.
"...Monoeyes?" Ibuki tilted her head.
"Not like Hades has a shortage of them. I'm sure he won't miss a few." Palutena casually said as Rosalina clenched her fist and then flew over, pulling back her fist and punching the Monoeye hard enough to send cosmic radiation flying everywhere. The cosmic explosion was enough to rock the Observatory, and destroyed a few meteorites that flew by.
"Whooooa!" Ibuki nearly lost her balance as some Lumas fell over.
"Just like how she punched Ridley." Palutena said.
The Monoeye in question was eradicated on the spot as a few other Monoeyes were also disintegrated, but Palutena provided a few more as Rosalina tried again, this time controlling it as she punched the Monoeye again. Another cosmic explosion was made… however, the Observatory didn't tilt.
"Goodness, she figured that out quickly!" Palutena said.
"Hmm… Ibuki's wondering if she could go into her Supernova form…" Ibuki mused. "Hey Rosie-chan, you think you could-"
"While it's tempting… I'd rather spare my energy for those who truly deserve it."
Palutena chuckled. "I figured she would say that."
Rosalina took a deep breath, recalling the times she lost control of herself as the Monoeyes attacked her. She swiftly teleported away, leaving behind cosmic dust in her wake that exploded, sending the Monoeyes flying around as Rosalina opened up a black hole and shot out plasma jets that struck the Monoeyes, disintegrating them instantly as one Monoeye was spaghettified and sucked into the black hole.
I will not let this control me…

Rosalina's eyes flashed as Monoeyes attacked her repeatedly but she put up cosmic barriers that electrocuted them the moment they touched them.
"Poor Rosalina! No family! No mother, no father, no brother… all alone! You are truly… helplessly ALONE!"
"Thought we could make her go further into despair and then slap some Phazon into her just to see you all watch the most powerful being of the cosmos destroy all of you."
"You will regret toying with me."
Rosalina swiftly kicked a Monoeye square in the… eye as she conjured up a Neutron Star and threw it into the vacuum of space, sucking in all the Monoeyes as Rosalina snapped her fingers, causing a massive explosion but Rosalina raised her arms up as the blast radius stopped just before it could touch the Observatory as she brought it back to the epicenter, conjuring up a force field inside the blast where it exploded harmlessly.
"Heeeey Rooooosiiiiiie~! You might wanna keep an eye on your kid!"
"You will regret that."
"Can we just pretend this incident never happened? It was a freak accident, I swear! It was just a prank! I was just gonna shoot you in the shoulder after using your kid as bait to get your guard down and we'd laugh about it later! Aheheh… I should keep my mouth shut."
Cosmic fire swirled around Rosalina, unleashing cosmic fire tornadoes that sucked in any Monoeye in the way as she clapped her hands as the tornadoes exploded around her. She opened her eyes where she saw an image of Raven Beak standing before her.
"ANNA MANN KROSTRA IKKA UNTA COLOCOA!"
Rosalina wrapped a cosmic barrier around the image, trapping him inside as she made the barrier shrink.
"No. I'm the queen of the cosmos… you are the king of nothing." She declared as the barrier shrunk and crushed him before the barrier exploded in a supernova-like fashion, rocking everything around her in a ten lightyear radius, destroying asteroids that were harmlessly floating about the cosmos.
She took a deep breath, and then conjured up a cosmic bomb. The same bomb she used to accidentally destroy Fleet Glide and Spring Meadow Galaxy. She lit it up while Polari, Palutena and Ibuki braced for impact. She tossed it in front of her and then closed her eyes, concentrating as the bomb lit up and then when it exploded, Rosalina thrusted her arms forward to stop the blast radius as she twisted and warped it around until it unleashed cosmic fireworks that not only destroyed the Monoeyes, but it made a spectacular light show that could be seen for lightyears.

At Tree Trunk Galaxy…
"Look at that!" A Whittle said, pointing to a star shining brightly in the sky.
"A star shines in daytime?" Another asked.
"Pretty!"
At the Mushroom Kingdom…
"Well, that's highly unusual…" Peach said, looking at the sky.
"My word, is that a star?" Toadsworth wondered.
"It's pretty." Peach smiled.
"Pretty unusual…" A Toad guard mumbled while the residents of Toad Town looked on in awe at the unusual pretty sight in the sky.
Soon, it would turn into a very bright aurora borealis.
"...At this time of day?" Luigi wondered, rubbing his head. "It's barely in the afternoon!"
"Mama mia… I could stare at it for hours." Mario said.
In Patch…
"What the heck?" Ruby wondered. "What's with the light show?"
Tai looked at the sky, then remembered the note that Rosalina left. "...Why do I have a feeling Rosie might be behind this?" He wondered with a chuckle.
Back in space…
"Hah… hah…" Rosalina panted before taking a deep breath. "I am one with the supernova." She said to herself as she flew back to the Observatory.
"Holy shit! That was amazing!" Ibuki said.
"Indeed. I never knew we could see the aurora in deep space, yet here we are." Palutena said as Rosalina decided to scan herself again.
"Scan complete: Cosmic and Supernova Power merged as one - 100%"
"Well, how about that. You can tap into both powers at once!" Polari said.
"How do you feel now, Rosie?" Palutena asked.
Rosalina smiled. "Peaceful." She said as the Observatory roared to life once more and flew back to Remnant.
Several lightyears later…
The Observatory landed back in its spot as Rosalina hopped off and walked back to the home where she saw Tai approach her. "Why do I have this feeling you made that light show?" He asked with a smile.
Rosalina giggled. "Oh, let's just say I… did some deep meditation." She said, turning her head to Ibuki and Palutena and winked at them before turning around.
"Heh, meditating with those two? I imagine it was pretty wild." He chuckled as the two walked back into their home, while Ibuki walked into the Observatory library.
"Hmm?" Palutena walked after her as Ibuki looked at Rosalina's rocking chair where her story book used to be.
"Truly riveting. This passage is something else! 'She's sleeping under the tree on the hill'. It truly RIPS the ol' heartstrings, doesn't it!"
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
"Sorry, was that important?"
"Something up, Ibuki?"
"Oh… nothing to worry. Ibuki's just thinkin'."
Palutena smiled. "Well, I'm sure Rosalina is a lot happier with herself now." She said, wrapping herself in heavenly light before disappearing back to Skyworld.
"Hmm… wonder if she could surprise Rosie-chan…" Ibuki wondered to herself as she walked out of the library, pulled out her hover board and flew off, deep in thought.
I meant to write this one when we were in the middle of 3D Land... and now I finally got around to it. Yay!
