Ch.34: Bombshell
One really does not expect much to come out of a Monday, yet alone at school. The beginning of the week, its full of sleepy students, and teachers that crave the best coffee possible.
As I stepped through the doors in the school, I began making the way to my locker- 316, not far from the Gym. Smiling as a few students threw a paper airplane around, I began to open my locker.
"Okay. 32, 44,2- "
I would be interrupted as I heard a shout of "David!" come from Sunset Shimmer. She sprinted towards me, a mixture of confused and angry on her face. In her hand was Canterlot Daily, the school's newspaper. I said nothing as she pressed the paper into my hand.
"First page" she said simply. Following her instructions, I opened the paper to see and read this:
David The Groomer?
An anonymous tip from a student has led to a discovery from yesterday. The student witnessed David Root, our new student from another dimension, and Scootaloo holding hands as they walked down the street yesterday. With him being sixteen and her thirteen, is David into the indefensible?
I looked up at Sunset. "You don't believe this, do you?"
She shook her head. "No. Careful though. Rainbow Dash is pretty mad right now, and so is Applejack. Good thing you don't share anything with them until after lunch" she said, allowing a moment of nervous levity.
I opened my locker again, getting my oven mitts, shutting the door to reveal Rainbow Dash on the other side, her fists clinched.
"Listen here, chump! If you think you are going to do that stuff with Scootaloo, you have another thing coming!"
I went to respond, only to see AJ storming down the hallway like a bull towards a red cape. I sighed.
"Look, can we all calm down?"
"Calm down?!" RD exclaimed, slamming me into my locker. "You are grooming Scoots! I-im gonna- "
"Get to class, I assume?" A voice interrupted her. She let me go and turned to see an unamused Luna. RD got the message and her and AJ shuffled away for their math class.
I made my way to class, knowing the day had taken a quite interesting turn.
