Early the next morning
Raven and Devon are up early at their Doctor's appointment.
Nurse: Raven Baxter
Devon: That you bae. (He helped her up and they walked to the back)
After the nurse checked all the basic stuff they sat in the room for the doctor.
Devon: (He could tell she was very uncomfortable) You okay Rae?
Raven: Yeah my back is just killing me.
Devon: Well when we get home I will give you a backrub.
Raven: Don't you have to go to work?
Devon: No I took off today so I can stay with you.
Raven: Awwww (she smiled and was about to kiss him when she remembered something) Oh but I gotta go in after we leave here I have a order of shoes coming in.
Devon: Rae Chelsea is there.
Raven: Devon I love Chelsea but we both know she can't run that store.
Devon: (shaking his head) Then you need to hire y'all some help!
Raven: I am just give me 2 hours then I will come right home to you.
Devon: Alright 2 hours
Raven: (smiled) Thank you honey (they kissed as the doctor was coming in)
Doctor: Well good morning Ms.Baxter and Mr.Carter. Y'all ain't got remarried yet?
Raven: (laughing) No
Doctor: Dad what you waiting on?
Devon: We will (he said kissing Raven's hand and she smiled)
Doctor: Awww I love to see the love between parents. Well let's get this check up started.
She started feeling around Raven's belly.
Doctor: When is baby most active?
Raven: Well pretty much all the time so far when I lay down she or he seems to chill out and go to sleep.
Doctor: Good a lot of movement?
Raven: Yes!
Doctor: Are you two still having sex?
Devon: Yes but safely
Doctor: Good I know y'all already know what to do.
Let's get a ultrasound going. Sorry if it's a little cold sweetie.
Raven: It's okay
Doctor: Okay let's see how baby is developing (they all look at the monitor) And there are your babies.
Raven and Devon: BABIES
Doctor: (laughing) I'm just kidding guys it's just one beautiful baby... Wait do you wanna know the sex?
Devon: Yes!
Raven: I guess
Devon: She wants to know! (Raven rolled her eyes)
Doctor: (laughing) I love you too together it's a beautiful baby boy.
Devon: I knew it.
Raven: You just made his day.
Doctor: He looks very healthy and here go his heart beat. (Raven started to cry as she heard his heart beat) Awww look at the proud mother. (Devon kissed Raven on her forehead)
Raven: I just can't believe this. It's so real to me now.
Doctor: Yes Ma'am now I do have a few concerns. About you Ms.Baxter.
Devon: What's wrong?
Doctor: Her blood pressure is a little high. Have you been having any headache?
Raven: Well yeah but I just thought it was because of the pregnancy.
Doctor: What else have you been experiencing?
Raven: Just the normal stuff
Devon: She gets headaches, her feet swell up she also complains about back pain and sometimes she can't sleep.
Raven: Yeah and those are all related to pregnancy.
Doctor: Well some are but with your blood pressure being a little on the high side I wanna watch you a little closer. What all are you doing on a regular day basis.
Devon: Too much
Raven: Devon
Doctor: Okay this is what I want you to do Ms.Baxter bed rest for a whole two weeks
Raven: Two weeks!!!
Doctor: Yes after that I will check your blood pressure and see how it's going.
Raven: But two weeks I have a business to run.
Devon: Chelsea can handle it while you take a break Rae.
Raven: Not by herself Devon!
Devon: Well then I will get her some help.
Raven: And what about the twins after school programs. Who's going to do the ripping and running with them if I can't.
Devon: Your not there only parent Rae. (Raven rolled her eyes)
Doctor: Listen Raven I know this my not be idea for you at this time. But you need to think about your baby mommy stressed out equals babies stressed out. That could end up being harmful to the child. Please take a break and let someone help you.
Devon: Let me help you.
Doctor: I have plenty of expecting mothers who wish they had a man like this by their side.
Raven: I know, (she takes a deep breath) Okay bed rest it is.
