In the vibrant sky above, five rode forward on Dragonback. The wind whistled through their ears as they soared. Pushing against them, making anything not being tightly worn or carried flap in the turbulent tide.
Louise turned on her seat, making damn well sure she didn't slip. Not really wanting to chance her ability to float, to face Izaneus. What had suddenly made him seek her out? Outright demand her help as he did. Opening her mouth, she intended to ask.
" Izaneus! What are we doing? Where are we going?" She called over to him, to which he didn't respond, simply staring forward with a blank expression clear on his face. Was he ignoring her? With a small imperceptible growl she shouted. " Izaneus! Where are you taking us?"
This time, he turned to her, his face not blank, but contorted into confusion. It was moments later that Louise heard his voice echo in her mind. "You're aware I can't hear you, right?"
It was of course this that made Louise want to facepalm, of course.
Replying through their now formed mental link. Louise asked once more. "Where are we going? What are we doing?" It took Izaneus a few moments to respond back. As though contemplating his answer.
"Put simply, we're on a hunt. Of sorts." He stated. Louise could tell she could call for one more response. Yet, wasn't sure what she wanted to ask. What were they hunting? Why? More importantly, why did he seem so… vengeful? So incredibly full of anger?
She was about to ask once more, before she could hear him mentally sigh. "I'll explain more once we touch down."
Confused, Louise was about to raise an eyebrow before realizing that their minds were currently connected, and he likely heard all of that.
Beautiful.
A thin shade of pink adorned her cheeks, and with that, she opted to stay silent for the rest of their venture. Not particularly enjoying the start this journey set to.
Hello everyone! Firstly, I'd like to apologize for taking so long to post chapters. Which is partially why this one is so short. Life never ends with it's hurdles, and I've been unfortunately tasked with overcoming my own with these past few months.
But mostly, I wanted to use this chapter as an announcement, that I'll be returning to how I usually post.
I currently am truly enjoying writing this, and these characters. They each have nuances that's difficult for me to grasp at times, and I love that challenge.
Not to mention the story I've got planned. I hope you're all enjoying this as much as I am! Every reader and comment, every criticism helps me grow! My growth is one of my major reasons for writing here, aside from finally writing an foz story.
I'm planning to use Izaneus and more original characters in an actual story one day. But honing my skills until then is the best I can do.
Writing these characters, whom I've loved for so long is an amazing starting point for me, and seeing how much you all enjoy it as well makes me wanna cry!
So thank you all for enjoying the story thus far, here's to an amazing Journey!
