The routine of everyday life came back into focus for Brooke and Lucas. Him at the office during the week day. Working with his writing team when needed and when he was home or around town he was on his laptop. Writing anything that brought on inspiration.
When he wasn't working his time and attention was for Ellison solely.
...
Brooke was consumed with her store and designing. Along with balancing her friendships.
She hadn't expected for Rachel's interest in Lucas to be serious. But it was. And something about that got to Brooke more then she expected or prepared for.
...
The break up between Brooke and Lucas had happened so long ago. Brooke couldn't wrap her head or heart.
Over what Lucas's relationship status was. With anyone.
She ended things with him. Back then because of Peyton's pregnancy. It happened before they became a couple
But in the end it brought them closer. Their bond and connection made her very jealous. Even though Lucas and Peyton never got back together.
Brooke and Lucas's romantic encounters now easier because there was no lingering feelings or attachment to worry about.
...
"I like aunt Rachel but what's going to happen to aunt Brooke.?" Ellison asked. When they entered the home. After Lucas brought him back from his after school activities.
"I like Rachel but we're not dating. Aunt Brooke and I are friends."
"Close friends." Lucas explained.
Ellison went upstairs and made his way towards his bedroom.
His eyes went wide when he saw a package addressed to him from his mom.
He brought it into his room and tore off the wrapping paper.
He found a container with various items. All for him.
After taking his time to count the envelopes. He counted enough to total a full year.
He left those unopened and instead took out the Ipod she had left behind for him.
And started to listen to it. Titled.
