Ch.36: Interviews

I stopped as I got to her office door. What was going to happen? Did Celestia believe the allegations? I could not hide from whatever fate was to throw at me, and so I opened the door.

Behind the desk sat Luna and Celestia. Luna had her hands folded as Celestia sipped on a cup of Joe. On the left side of the office sat Minty and Holiday along with Scootaloo on Celestia's couch. A lone chair sat on the right side of the room. Understanding that the chair was for me, I sat down.

Luna and Celestia looked at one another. Luna cleared her throat. "Thank you for arriving quickly, David. We just got done speaking with Scootaloo about the speculative article in today's paper. We have asked you here to ask if it is true. Keep in mind that none of us believe it, but we need to be sure."

"Besides, Scootaloo told me you two were holding hands because her hand got splashed with water and you were trying to warm it up" Holiday said.

"Either way, the floor is yours." Celestia said, everyone turning their eyes on me.

I closed my eyes, my breaths heavy and contemplative. After taking a moment to collect my thoughts, I answered.

"On Earth, I have a sister named Alexis. I love her dearly. She's, my sister. I grow mad at the very idea of anyone hurting her. I think of Scootaloo kind of like a sister. No, I would never hurt her. Sure, some students won't believe it if first hour was anything. It's the truth. Same thing goes with Apple Bloom or Sweetie Belle or Silver Spoon."

The adults looked at one another and nodded in agreement.

"We believe you, David" Holiday said. "That still keeps a question. Who gave the anonymous tip?"

"That would be my daughter" a southern voice said.

We would turn to see a tall man with black slick hair enter the room. He was dressed in a distinguished fashion, wearing a navy-blue suit and dress shoes. He nodded at Celestia before turning to Scootaloo, then me.

"I am sorry for what my daughter did to you, David. She believed that she saw more than she did, and thought by having the tip made, it would protect a classmate."

"I understand, sir" I said. "I've only been here four months."

"My name is Filthy Rich, by the way" he smiled. "I graduated high school when Celestia was born. Yes, I am in my sixties."

"And Principal Celestia is not a day over 29!" a voice added from outside the door.

Filthy allowed a chuckle as Diamond Tierra shuffled in, looking sorrowful. Before Diamond could say a word, I walked over to her.

"I understand what you did. You realize that it hurt me, right? That I had classmates believing this stuff?"

"I already spoke with her on the matter" Filthy said. "She is grounded for a week. I think I know a way for this to be solved, and for Diamond to make things up to you.

"Do you enjoy steak, young man?"
