Chapter 5: academy days part 2
It has been six months since naruto and friends had begun at the academy. Overall it has been going well, granted naruto was a bit bored as they weren't learning anything too interesting in his eyes.
"Ok class." Daikoku sensei says as class begins that day. "Today we will be heading outside to work on taijutsu. We'll be going over the basic style we teach at the academy here. Now can anyone tell me why taijutsu is important for all shinobi to learn?"
Itachi raises his hand. "Yes sensei. Taijutsu is a skill anyone can rely on, so if you don't have any weapons or much chakra left to use you can still fight someone with taijutsu." He explains.
"Well said Itachi, that's exactly right. Now, let's go class." He says leading them outside.
"Ok class, now then, with help from a few of the other instructors we will begin learning the katas of the style. The important thing to remember is these katas are a starting point for you all. Now some of you from clans might already have a style of taijutsu to use, but it's always good to branch out."
The class spends the next few hours working on learning the katas of the academy style.
"Good job class, let's take a break for lunch. When we come back we will try doing some spars." Daikoku sensei tells the class.
Shikamaru, naruto and ino leave the field and find a spot to eat.
"May I sit with you all?" Itachi asks politely. Naruto nods his head. "Sure, the more the merrier!" Naruto says cheerfully.
"So, you're Itachi right? What do you think of the classes so far?" Naruto asks. Itachi nods. "They're okay, I excepted something a bit, harder I guess." He answers truthfully.
Naruto nods. "Same here. I hope we can learn some jutsu soon."
"I heard the academy only teaches three. The kawamiri, henge and the bunshin." Itachi explains.
Shikamaru finally speaks up. "They must not be that hard then if academy students are supposed to learn them. Any plans to graduate early?" He asks Itachi.
Itachi nods his head. "If I can manage it I want to graduate as soon as possible."
"Makes sense, though I think my goal is to wait a bit before I attempt to graduate. I need to refine my chakra control more." Naruto says. Itachi raised an eyebrow.
"Why would you need to refine your chakra control first?" He asks curiously.
"According to our dad, naruto has a lot more chakra then most people due to his blood. Apparently the uzumaki clan had lots of it." Shikamaru explains.
"I see, that would make sense then." Itachi says quietly. "Well maybe we can all train sometime." He offers. Naruto grins widely. "Sure!" He says.
"Troublesome." Mutters shikamaru.
After a while they finish their lunch and head back to the field.
"Ok class gather round. Now it's time for us to spar." Daikoku sensie declares. Most of the class are excited to do this, shikamaru just wants to relax and cloudwatch though.
"First up is ino yamanaka versus Hana inazuka." He says. The two girls get into the ring.
"Ok, both of you make the seal of confrontation." He says. They both do as instructed, and the spar begins.
Ino tries her best to keep up with the inazuka, but is overpowered quickly.
Their sensei has the rest of the class go through spars next with shikamaru eventually facing off against a Hyuga boy and losing. Finally it's time for naruto and Itachi to spar.
"Good luck naruto." Itachi says smiling. Naruto nods, "you too Itachi."
The spar begins. Naruto takes a second and tries throwing a punch at Itachi who managed to dodge it. Itachi drops down and sweeps his leg trying to knock naruto off balance.
Naruto quickly jumps over Itachi avoiding his leg and lands on the ground. Naruto rushes at Itachi throwing a few punches only to receive a kick in his side.
Naruto stops to catch his breath before noticing Itachi going for the finishing blow. Before they knew it the spar had ended.
Itachi helps naruto up. "We should spar again sometime naruto, it was fun."
Naruto nods and agrees. "Now you two, make the seal of reconciliation." Daikoku sensei tells them. Naruto and Itachi nods and does as instructed.
"That will be all for today class, I'll see you all next week." He says.
Naruto and shikamaru, along with ino head home. "Hey shika, let's ask your dad for some more training." Shikamaru growns. "Do we have to?"
Naruto nods. "Yep, now I'll race you home!" He says running off towards their home.
