Ginny was ushered out, not much longer after that and a clicking sound indicated a locking charm had been put in place. She then hears a giggle and moans, and nothing after that, so a silencing charm must have been put in place as well.
"They told you didn't they? If I heard all that correctly?" A voice suddenly said, making her jump out of her skin but continued to stare at the door in shock, because of everything she had just learned. Ginny then spun around to find Sirius Black leaning against the wall next to her.
"They are going for it in there, silencing charms don't work with my ears, unfortunately." Ginny felt herself blush, and she wasn't sure why. Although she found herself wanting to punch that smirk off his face.
"Don't worry I won't say anything, and nobody eavesdropping can hear this, as I placed a silencing charm up around us. I knew you wouldn't be in there for much longer. I know she's missed him, and all through the meeting, he kept on glancing at the door, when he thought nobody was looking. Kingsley waited until the end when it was just myself and Dumbledore left. You should know I was a witness to their vows and Minerva McGonagall, so if anything happens to Hermione at Hogwarts, she's the one to go to, to contact Kingsley if Dumbledore isn't around to find," Sirius said and she nodded, closing her eyes and shaking her head.
"The being of age thing confuses me and I still don't get it, but as long as she is happy that is all that matters at the end of the day. And if Kingsley makes her happy then eh... I don't really know what else to say."
"There is nothing to say, they are young and in love. I'd eat fish if they don't fall pregnant this year, and I hate fish! I'm surprised he even said anything, as he is a very private man. I guess it's because you are Hermione's friend, and that choice of words you used, obviously pissed him off." He paused, clearly choosing his next words.
"I'd be careful around Kingsley if I was you, I'm surprised he tolerated you for as long as he did." She felt shocked.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Every Slytherin fears him, even Voldemort won't piss him off... being from Slytherin house himself, he knows every trick in the book. And to the outside world, you wouldn't know what side of the war he is on, which is why they leave him alone and he's pretty much voiceless in the meetings in case he should be questioned. Hermione is the most safest witch in the United Kingdom, regardless of her blood status, and now she is with him. Kingsley is a bit of a mystery And that's all I'm saying!" The door suddenly rattled and both of them looked at it in shock for a second. Sirius pointed his wand at it, as the rocking into wood sounds stopped.
"Bloody hell!" Ginny said.
"Those doors are decades old, good night Miss Weasley." That ended the conversation, as he removed the silencing charm, and walked away to his room. Ginny walked back to hers, her mind swimming with all the new information.
~*~
The next morning Hermione woke up feeling deliciously sore, and happy as her husband made love to her before they had to separate for a while. They showered and snogged each other's faces off, as they washed each other's bodies and got dressed. Kingsley transfigured his robes into new ones from his wardrobe at home.
"I love you," she whispered as they hugged at her door.
"You've no idea how happy I feel hearing those words, Mrs Shacklebolt, I love you too." He kissed her lips then rested his forehead against her own.
"Sirius will cover for me, I can stay for breakfast but not much longer after that, I'll try and come back tonight. I'll see if I can get Sirius to move you to a room with a fireplace, to connect it to home, so we have more time."
"I'd like that, I'm almost dreading Hogwarts, and I never thought I'd say that." She whispered.
"You are almost eighteen and a married witch, you are bound to feel differently towards things. From what I understand... you've always been rather mature for your age, compared to those within your year." A knock on the door made them both jump, and Kingsley kissed her lips.
Hermione opened the door a little bit to find a smirking Sirius Black and blushed. Kingsley shot the animagus a warning look, to not embarrass his wife.
"Molly is downstairs cooking already and planning the next cleaning schedule." Hermione openly groaned and turned to hide her face, in her husband's chest, who hugged her to him. She had told him a little of this between rounds.
"Sorry Hermione, this house hasn't been lived in, since I was wrongly sent to Azkaban, no thanks to that little rat!"
"It is not your fault Sirius. Don't get me wrong I love Molly, but she can be overbearing and over the top, when she's acting like she's in charge, and it's not even her house!"
"Don't worry, I'll step in if she becomes too much... she'll be stepping on my toes if she tries to take over with Harry! I still don't agree with Dumbledore about not writing to him, but I understand his concerns for the safety of all of us too, as well as Harry himself. I think he wants you at the next Order meeting Hermione, I think you'd left Kingsley when he said this! Just thought I'd give you both the heads up if it happens."
"Hermione already knows what I'm going to ask you, but I'd like a word in private before we go down," he said. Sirius stepped back and Kingsley kissed her on her lips, before heading out of the room. Hermione watched them head down the corridor to what she assumes is Sirius's room, she sighed closed her eyes, closed the door and made her way downstairs. Crookshanks surprised her by leaping up onto her shoulders, as she got to the ground floor where the kitchen/dining area is.
"Hello Crooks," she said pulling him around, and giving him a kiss as they enter the kitchen, holding him to her. She sat down near the head of the table, where Sirius always sits, and said good morning to Mrs Weasley.
"Hello dear, you seem a bit happier this morning?" Mrs Weasley said, as she snuggled with Crooks kissing his little face, as he purrs.
"I feel a lot better about everything, thank you, Mrs Weasley." She replied, and thanked her for her coffee as Ginny and Ron walks in. Ginny comes to sit next to her before Ron could sit on her other side, she put Crooks there, and Ron glared at the cat. Hermione leaned down and kissed him, as she took a bacon rasher from the plate Mrs Weasley put down on the table, and took a couple of pieces off of it, to give to him on the chair, then nibbled on the rest of it herself, as she drank her coffee.
Crooks got down and wandered over to Mrs Weasley, who fussed over him for a little bit, and then her husband and Sirius came downstairs and sat exactly where she knew they would. Crookshanks comes running over and leaps into Kingsley's lap purring. She leans over and kisses Crook's nose, saying good morning to them both and they respond, as she leaned back up to take hold of her coffee. Kingsley moves his arm over the back of her chair as he strokes Crooks.
"How in the Merlin's balls are you doing that?" Ron asks Kingsley in genuine shock.
"RONALD WEASLEY! Language young man."
"What? That evil cat never lets Harry or me touch him. He doesn't even know that dude." Sirius chuckled.
"He watches us create things!" Fred said smugly.
"Crooks isn't evil Ronald!" Hermione said in a tone, that Ron should have known better by now. Kingsley just listened and saw Sirius smirking, as his eyes darted back and forth between the two, clearly amused. He reluctantly had to move his arm to help himself to breakfast, and drink his coffee. The cat hopped off his lap and found its way back to Mrs Weasley.
"Your just jealous Ron, because Crooks doesn't like you or Harry!" Miss Weasley said, "he clearly has no problem with the rest of us."
"And the fact that Crooks is not evil, unlike that disgusting little Rat you used to have, that gave me the creeps!" Ginny said cringing.
"I just don't get how he can like a complete stranger, and not Harry and I, who he's known for almost five years! He doesn't particularly like Sirius, but I guess that's a cat and dog thing..." Ron grumbled.
"Hey! At least it's for a natural reason! I don't particularly like cats myself but we have a mutual understanding. I guess Kingsley here just likes Kitten's, and they like him..." Hermione hid the blush she couldn't hide, behind her newly filled coffee mug, and her husband choked on his sausage and bacon roll. Thankfully she didn't think anyone had noticed.
"Why are you blushing Hermione?" Ron suddenly asked her, and she mentally groaned.
"I'm not blushing Ronald, I drank my coffee too soon, it's from the hot water!" She narrowed her eyes at him.
"That will do Ronald Weasley!" Mrs Weasley said in a firm tone, the twins are snickering, and Ginny couldn't hold the giggle in. Mr Weasley came through the floo and thankfully the topic diverted after a round of good mornings are said, and he sits down opposite Kingsley.
"kitten ey, Hermione?" Ginny whispered in her ear, and she whacked her friend on her leg as she giggled. Then Ginny turned around and smirked at her brother.
"Not tripped over this morning then Ron? And how're your eyes doing?" Ginny asked him amused, a laugh in her tone. Molly had just sat down, and had taken a bite out of her bacon and egg roll, and choked on her food a little. Wondering what her children had been up to now.
"GINNY WEASLEY! What is that supposed to mean?"
"It was so weird Mum like my eyes suddenly closed on their own and I kept tripping over my own feet. When me and Ginny spoke to Hermione in her room yesterday evening when the Order meeting was happening."
"I wish we could have seen that!" Fred and George said at the same time, grinning. Ron glared at them. Hermione just remained silent, and then Sirius spoke up.
"Yes well, that room has always been a bit weird, that Hermione is in, and so she'll be moving rooms today, now that things are a bit more organised and cleaner," he said. Hermione hoped she did a good job of keeping a straight face, as she finished her second roll of bacon and egg.
"Why does Hermione get to move?" Ron asked.
"You'll be sharing with Harry when he gets here! So quit moaning, because your beginning to get on my nerves kid." Sirius told him bluntly. Ron went a shade darker than his hair and shoved the rest of his sausage in his mouth.
"Sorry Arthur and Molly!" Sirius said, Kingsley, placed his hand on his wife's thigh and squeezed gently, to let her know he was leaving as he got up, and then moved to the fireplace. Sirius got up as well and had a few words with him. Kingsley thanked Molly for breakfast, locked eyes with her briefly and then left through the floo flames that Sirius had just set up for him.
Crooks jumped up on her lap and she hugged him to her, ignoring the glare Ron sent Crookshanks and she wondered what room she'll have now.
"You okay?" Ginny leaned in to whisper in her ear, she nodded and took a sip of her coffee.
To answer someone's question - I like Hermione with the people she shouldn't be with, so anyone who isn't Ron or Harry, to be honest :) I have read a few Hermione & Fenrir Greyback ones recently :) I need to add.
Lots going on here, what do you all think?
Hope everyone is having a good week so far :)
To those who read my VK/HG story, I will be updating it tomorrow evening :) I started it earlier :) If I finish it tonight, I'll post it tonight as well :)
