Ninja Academy
"Good morning class. Today is the day you meet with your new jonin sensei today." Iruka said with a smile. The class had a mixture of fear and determination. Many of the clan heirs were excited to finally become shinobi while others began to worry if they would pass or not.
"Hey, Menma, who do you think will be on your team?" Mito asked.
"I don't know. I'm pretty sure we'll have Kakashi since he was dad's student." Menma said.
"Teams one through six will be standard teams that have no area of specialization, please listen to your name as it's called." Iruka said as he began calling out names.
"Who do you think will be on your team?" Menma asked.
"Well, I'm definetly female ninja of the year. I'll be paired with rookie of the year and probably the dead last." Mito said.
"So, probably the two of us with Kiba then." Menma said.
"Team seven, This team will consist of Sai Shimura, Sakura Haruno, and Yakumo Kurama. Your jonin sensei will be Genma Shiranui. Your team will specialize in engaging a threat to scout the level of them before calling for assistance. Team eight, this team will consist of Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuga, and Kiba Inuzuka. Your jonin sensei will be Kurenai Yuhi. Your team will specialize in tracking and recovery." Iruka called out.
"I guess we aren't getting Kiba. It must have been Shikamaru as the dead last." Mito declared.
"I guess doing the bare minimum pays off in the end." Menma said with slight bitterness due to applying himself.
"Since team nine is still in rotation, team ten. This team will consist of Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi. Your team will specialize in recon and information gathering. Remember, bad information can be just as deadly, if not more, than no information. Your jonin sensei will be Asuma Sarutobi." Iruka said.
"Weird. So who is going to be on our team?" Mito asked. The other genin were met by their senseis and left for introductions. This left Mito, Menma, and Sasuke Uchiha to wait. "Um, Iruka sensei, what about our team?" Mito asked.
"Lord Fourth has requested that there teams were excused before speaking up. You three will be team eleven. You'll be Konoha's first genin assassination and infiltration team. We're trying something enw with medical ninja. We don't have enough resources of current shinobi to join different teams as a medic. Lady Tsunade has started training some civilians as medical assistants for the team." Iruka explained.
"So instead of us three and a jonin sensei, we'll have a perosnal medic?" asked Sasuke.
"Yes, that's correct. However, just because they're civilians, it doesn't mean you out rank them. We've taken things into consideration and have listed them as special genins. Since they aren't real shinobi, but they will possibly be on the battlefield, it makes more sense to have them over normal genin, but under chunin. If that makes sense." Iruka said.
Entering the room, Koyuki appeared. "Team eleven, follow me to training field number forty-four. Don't be late." Koyuki said as she left. The two Namikaze twins and th eUchiha began following her.
Training Field #44
"Alright, take a seat. Your jonin sensei will be here shortly." Koyuki ordered.
"Who is our jonin sensei? I bet it's Kakashi. He's always running late." Menma said with annoyance.
"You think Kakashi is our sensei?" asked Sasuke.
"He's got to be. That's why this team war formed. He was our father's student, and holds the Sharingan. He will help you master it along with helping us in our training. That's why we're an assassination and infiltration squad. It has never been done before with green genin." Mito pointed out.
"I guess that does make sense." Sasuke said with a smirk.
Suddenly, Naruto appeared before them with his green jonin's vest, orange sleevless shirt, face mask covering the bottom half of his face, a pair of black pants, and orange sandals. "Good morning. My name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze. I will be your jonin sensei." Naruto said.
"Huh? You aren't a jonin." Menma pointed out.
"Lord Fourth promoted me. Now, let's do introductions. My name is Naruto, as you all know. I enjoy reading, gardening, and cook. I dislike traitors and those who show no loyalty. My dream for the future is to become Konoha's next hokage. Yuki, it's your turn." Naruto said.
"My name is Koyuki Kazahana. I enjoy reading, gardening, and learning how to cook. I dislike perverts and those who think that with a name, it carries weight. My dream for the future is to become the village leader and connect the Land of Snow with the Land of Fire." Koyuki said.
"Alright, Mito. Go ahead." Naruto said.
"My name is Mito Uzumaki Namikaze. I enjoy learning about fuinjutsu and kenjutsu with mother. I dislike those who are lazy and don't apply themselves. My dream is to become Konoha's next seal master." Mito said.
"Interesting. Okay, your turn, Sasuke." Naruto said.
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I dislike many things, not that there is anything in particular that I like. As for dreams of the future, I have none. What you may call a dream, I call a reality. I will avenge my clan by killing a certain someone." Sasuke said.
"Revenge, huh?" Naruto silently asked himself. "Okay, your turn, Menma." Naruto said.
The youngest of the Namikaze family glared at his brother. "I have many likes and dislikes. My dreams are none of your business." Menma shouted.
Naruto shrugged. "Okay. Are you four ready for your graduation exam?" Naruto asked. Menma, Mito, and Sasukre glared at their sensei.
"What graduation exam? We already took it." Menma said.
"No, you took an entry exam. I don't even know if I'd call it that. Out of the thirty students that passed, only nine will pass. In other words, you have a thirty-three percent chance. The objective is simple, try to punch me in the face." Naruto said.
"Why am I part of this?" Koyuki asked.
"That's right. If Koyuki is captured, you instantly failed. Many missions have ended because fresh genin out the academy such as you believe you're big shit because of your last names. When the client dies, so does the mission. No worries, I'll take it easy." Naruto said. The three genin and Koyuki left to hide.
Hokage's Office
"Do you really think this will work?" asked Jiraiya.
"I hope so. I originally planned for Kakashi to be their sensei. However, I think Naruto will surprise us all." Minato said.
"I don't know. He isn't like th eother jonin. He my purposly fail his team to return to anbu." Jiraiya.
"No he won't. I've got an ace up my sleeve to prevent that from happening." Minato said with a smirk.
Jiraiya raised an eyebrow. "What's this? What is your ace?" asked the toad sage.
"Let's just say, Koyuki is turning into more od a daughter than in-law, if you know what I mean. She won't let Naruto fail them. Not to mention, this is also a test for Naruto to remain as a jonin. If he fails the test, he'll be demoted to chunin and forced to work with the ninja core. Koyuki knows it would drive him insane." Minato said.
"I must say, I've trained a genius. Do you want to go see?" asked Jiraiya.
"Yeah, I'm curious how this will turn out." Minato said as he grabbe dJiraiya and they used the Hiraishin to flash to the training field.
Training Field
"Is that really all you three have? I expected more from you." Naruto said in disappointment.
"What? We're fighting as a team." Mito declared.
"You win as a team and you die as a team, remember that." Naruto said.
"But isn't teamwork the most important thing?" Menma asked.
"It's important, but not the most." Naruto said as he pulled out his make-out paradise book and began reading. "Oh, don't mind me. Feel free to attack anytime you like." Naruto said.
"I don't get it. Jonin sensei test there students based on teamwork. We should have already passed." Menma said.
"Why don't we ask Koyuki? She is his girlfriend after all." Mito said.
"Huh? Are you serious?" Menma asked.
"Why else do you think they came to the house together and were holding hands?" Mito asked.
"I figured she wanted her anbu escort to prevent any guys from hitting on her." Menma said.
Sasuke glared daggers at the sensei. "Hmph, I'm an Uchiha. If anyone gets a princess, it will be me." Sasuke thought.
"Have you guys figured out a plan yet?" asked Koyuki.
"Koyuki, what is Naruto's weakkness?" Mito asked. The former princess of Snow country adopted a thinking pose.
"I actually don't know. Aside from me, I've never seen any weaknesses." Koyuki said.
Menma smirked. "Then we'll do it. I figured it out." Menma said.
"Figured what out?" Sasuke asked.
"We're an assassination and infiltration squad. We won't have clients since we'll be doing assassinations. If we sacrifice Koyuki, and make Naruto believe she is in harms way, it will distract him." Menma said.
"What? That's the most stupidest thing I've ever heard and goes against everything we've been taught." Mito shouted.
"Don't worry, you'll learn it again. Because unless we do that, we're back at the academy." Menma said.
Mito sighed. "I guess you've got a point." she said. "Sorry, Yuki. We're going to have to attack you." Mito said.
"Do what you must. I swear, I'm going to kill Naruto for this idea." Koyuki muttered.
As NAruto watched from the corner of his eye, he saw the trio breakaway from Koyuki. Sasuke was gathering a ridiculously large amount of chakra, Menma was preparing his great breakthrough, and Mito was going to strike with her swords and shadow clones.
"Hmph. Nice bluff, no way they would actually." Naruto thought but stopped as they going to continue with it. "They aren't actually going to do this, are they?" Naruto said. He wasn't scared of Koyuki getting hurt because he could protect her, he was scared of what she will do to him when they get home.
"Blaze Release - Great Breathrough!" Menma shouted.
"Blaze Release - Grand Fireball!" Sasuke shouted as the massive burst of chakra came at the woman from both sides. Naruto appeared in an orange flash with his ice crystal shield. It was then that Mito ran up and punched him in the face.
Naruto stood still as he looked as his genin squad. "You fail." Naruto said.
"Huh? Are you serious? We did what was told of us." Menma shouted.
"We tried working as a team. We still couldn't touch you." Mito shouted.
"You said our objective was to punch you in the face. That's what we did!" Menma shouted.
"The rules were to try and punch me in the face. Clearly working as team wasn't cutting it. Sasuke, why didn't you try your Windmil, Triple attack?" Naruto asked.
"She said it's to be used when not fighting with a partner due to them most likely receiving damage as well." The Uchiha declared.
"Then why didn't you wait til neither Mito or Menma had failed? Mito, you can create multiple clones and make them explode. Why didn't you do that?" NAruto asked.
"Same reason Sasuke didn't' use his jutsu, I didn't want to hurt my team." Mito explained.
NAruto's eyes shot to Menma. "So instead or isking your teammates life, you decided to sacrifice the client. I heard your conversation, just because we specialize in something, doesn't mean that's all we'll do. We'll just be picked first for that kind of mission. Teamwork is important, but so is individual skill. If you rely on your team, who will rely on you? Or, what will you do if you're alone?" Naruto asked.
He then proceeded to point at the memorial stone. "You see that stone? Many of those I fought with have their names on it. Either they died from the lack of skill, or they were a burden to the entire team. When you go back to the academy, make sure you study." Naruto said as he flashed away.
"This is stupid! He can't fail us! Doesn't he know we're the hokage's kids, like him?" Menma shouted.
"I'm an Uchiha. Hokage's son or not, I will not be denied my rank or my training because of him. I need to get stronger so I can kill Itachi." Sasuke said. Mito remained silent.
"No, we need to go back. Truthfully, he was right, we don't know what it means to be ninja." Mito said.
"Mito, what the hell are you talking about?" Menma asked.
"Menma, you think because our father is the hokage, we're entitled to special treatment. Samething for you, Sasuke. You think because you're an Uchiha that you deserve everything. I may not like it, but I see why Naruto is sending us back." Mito said.
Both boys looked down in shame. While they didn't want to admit it, Mito was right. They had both used their families name for so long, they forgot that in the real world, it doens't matter. "So, what will you two do, now?" Koyuki asked.
"What do you mean? We're going back to the academy. Nothing else we can do." Menma said.
Suddenly, Naruto appeared in an orange flash. "Yuki, do you want to get some ramen?" Naruto asked.
She crossed her arms. "Naruto, you can't fail them." Koyuki said.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Naruto asked.
"If you fail them, Lord Fourth is demoting you to chunin and you'll be with multiple squads and having to deal with idiotc leadership. Is that what you really want?" Koyuki asked her boyfriend.
Naruto looked at her. "Wait, are you serious? Okay, Menma, Mito, Sasuke, the three of you pass. Just start making a name for your own selves. Don't worry about who your family is." Naruto said as he scopped Koyuki up bridal style. "Ramen?" Naruto asked.
Koyuki blushed. "Okay, Naru." Koyuki said as she kissed his cheek and the vanished in an orange flash.
"Well, guess we're ninja now." Mito said with a smile.
"Yeah, we are." Menma said while smiking back at his sister. "Let's get some ramen. Sasuke, you want to come?" Menma asked.
Sasuke looked at the red head in front of him. "Sure, why not." the Uchiha said as they left the area.
Hokage Monument
Naruto was sitting on the tone face of his father with Koyuki wrapped in his arms. "This is really beautiful, Naru." Koyuki said as she watched the village.
"I used to come here all the time when I was younger. It was my favorite spot." Naruto said with a smile as he kissed his girlfriend.
"So, what's the real reason you brought us here?" Koyuki asked while raising any eyebrow.
Naruto smiled. "Koyuki, I love you more than anything. You're my favorite person in the entire world. You've saved me from a world of darkness. It's because og you, I can smile and reconnect with my family. I want you to be part of that family with me. I want us to take on many challenges together as one. Koyuki Kazahana, will you marry me?" Naruto asked.
Koyuki was crying. "Yes, Naruto, I will marry you." Koyuki said as the two shared a deep kiss with each other. The two continued kissing as they were pulled into the other's embrace.
