Raven followed Thanos as the Mad Titan stood still in front of the unlit fireplace in a deathly silence.
The Spring Maiden gulped and did her best to keep a straight face. She knew she had been out of line in suddenly trying to get answers on her own about this mysterious girl that seemed to have a grudge against them.
As Thanos looked at the unlit fireplace with a stoic expression he asked "what made you decide to undertake this mission on your own Raven?"
"I wanted to find out who was behind it, for Weiss's safety" Raven told him, only to be met with a swift and firm.
"Don't lie to me!"
"My lord I can assure you I am not.." Raven tried to explain before her superior cut her off. "I don't need the Mind Stone to see right through you. You and my daughter have never gotten along and now suddenly you are concerned about her safety. So I won't ask say it again, what made you decide to undertake this mission."
Raven felt the sweat roll down her face as her fingers twitched and she tried to hold herself back from groveling right then and there. But it was pointless to try and string together a story since she knew Thanos would see right through it.
So it was in her best interest to be clear with her intentions.
Raven sighed before she spoke "before I joined you, you asked me what I desired, saying you could make that desire come true if I joined the Collective.. To finally kill Salem and make sure she can never threaten my world again. And that is what you did. You killed her?"
"Ending her life when I did had nothing to do with our agreement" Thanos replied sternly.
"I know," Raven quickly answered looking to the ground "but with Salem gone my world is no longer in danger. My entire reason for joining the Collective was to destroy her so I could return back…back to my family…and with her gone I no longer have any reason to be a part of this."
Thanos crossed his arms "so what are you saying Raven?"
"The way that girl was looking at Weiss makes me think she's looking for a way to wake her up, if she wanted to kill her she would've already done so. So I figured going to find her may lead me to something that could wake Weiss up and in return for that…I wish to be disavowed from the Collective."
Thanos raised his eyebrow at her words, not out of anger or disbelief, but more out of surprise.
"I am grateful my Lord Titan for everything you've done for me and my world, but with Salem gone I no longer have anything to offer you except for this. If I promise to find a way to save your daughter's life will you grant me my freedom?"
It was a question more then a request and Raven waited with baited breath for her master's answer. A tense silence filled the room for a good minute before Thanos moved and proceeded to walk right past her. Raven was unsure what he was thinking at the moment.
"Very well I can accept those terms. So get to it and find that girl" Thanos demanded calmly with Raven bowing "as you wish my Lord Titan."
The icy tundra was difficult to traverse and although Ruby had the advantage of her snowboard, her blonde companion didn't have such luck. As they overlooked the way down the mountain they where currently standing on top of, the girl was on her scroll tapping away at the keyboard.
"Uhm hello don't we have somewhere to go?" Ruby asked impatiently.
The girl suddenly seemed flustered and started to blush as she put her scroll away "oh yeah we should…we just need to wait for the uhm…reinforcements I have called in.."
"Reinforcements! What reinforcements! Why do you keep hiding things from me we are family!" Ruby yelled agitated.
"I know aunt Ruby it's just…"
At that moment a sudden portal opened up behind the girl and a young man quickly jumped through it. Ruby turned her snowboard into Crescent Rose on instinct. She saw it was ultimately just a young man, with disheveled dark hair and dark blue eyes dressed in a simple long sleeved white shirt and black pants.
The young man looked at the girl before speaking a nervous "hey…" and she responded while blushing "hey babe…" before she walked up towards him and gave him a deep kiss.
Ruby, Crescent Rose in hand watched the scene with wide eyes and her jaw dropped/
"Hold on wait a minute what is going here!" she yelled confused as the two teenagers stopped kissing and looked at her with wide and somewhat embarrassing eyes.
"Oh aunt Ruby sorry I didn't tell you this is Yuta Okkotsu he is….well…my boyfriend" she explained.
Ruby blinked twice wondering if she heard that correctly "boyfriend since when! What's it with you keeping secrets from me! We are family why are you keeping things from me."
"Aunt Ruby it's not like I meant too it's just…ugh" the girl sighed in frustration as she rubbed her temples in an effort to calm down. Yuta moved closer to her and placed his hands on her shoulder.
"Kara….what's going on. You said you needed my help more then ever. What is it that's going on?"
Kara looked at her boyfriend and Ruby before taking in a deep breath and saying "she's alive Yuta…my mother is alive…" she then pointed to the giant ice castle far in the distance "and the answer to saving her is there."
A/N: Yes a while since I updated this story but I've been so focused on "Come into my World" and I needed some time away from RWBY to focus on another series for a while. Also I'm considering splitting this story into two parts with a second half to round out the RWBY part of this series before moving onto other stories and franchises in the series.
