The League couldn't help but gawk at the battle before them, most of them remember the movies, videos, and pictures they've all seen while growing up.

Danny's eyes trailed over the battle, feeling a little more out of his depth compared to those other time-traveling adventures Clockwork had sent him out before in the past. This is bigger, much bigger.

Really, Danny is pretty dang grateful that he isn't going on this time-traveling mission by himself. Even if the League didn't get here the Danny's usually means.

Although, Danny is curious to how they got here. But he knows that's a story for another time, maybe the others will tell him when they finished fixing things. And when Danny finishes his homework when they get back.

"It's just like those old documentaries.", Flash comments breathlessly.

"Not quite.", Hawkgirl chimes in ominously, looking out behind the Allies pointedly.

Danny reached out with his enhanced hearing, and could hear a low rumble from the distance. The Allies ceased their fire and scatted just as a large red spiked wheel, armed with two behemoths of a cannon on both of its sides. Despite its design, this thing can somehow be nothing else but a tank, smashed right though the decimated buildings.

He didn't care how ridiculous he looked, Danny could only gap at the vehicle, the weapon, that has no place in 1944. Ancients, it has no place in the 21st century either. Even by the League's own standards of their time's technology, this thing is futuristic!

The Allies started firing their weapons once more, only this time, their targets changed to the giant spiked wheel instead of the usual tanks and soldiers on the other side of the battlefield. The barrage was led by the Allies' own tanks and machine guns, but their weapons had no effect. There wasn't even a scratch.

As he watched, Danny almost felt like he was going to be sick, this is something much bigger than just a ghost trying to crash a human sized paper plane.

The Wheel returned fire. With just one blast from one of its cannons, a tank exploded and many men in, at least, a twenty feet radius were sent flying with screams and shouts of both pain and surprise.

They tried to return fire, but the Allies were quickly trying to retreat, with the wheel speedily following after them, the tanks rolling backwards as they tried to provide the running soldiers cover fire as the Allies retreat in the face of the obvious superior technology and weaponry.

Danny's core buzzed at him to go down and protect those men. His body practically vibrating with need from his Obsession.

The rest of the League were all on the same boat, all of them jumping, racing down, or taking off in tandem, no words needed. Green Lantern came just in time to shield the tank that was providing cover fire from another blast of that spiked wheel.

Danny flew up and behind the Wheel, right towards the two domes that served as protection for the enemy soldiers inside. With a smirk, toxic green eyes glowing brightly with his adrenaline and emotions on high, Danny knocked on the dome. The bewildered soldier turned, eyes widening at the sight of Danny, who just gave the guy a wave as his smirk stretched wider. The halfa then turned intangible, grabbing the now panicking soldier before pulling him out of his dome of safety.

He almost snickered at that one.

The soldier started screaming while Danny tossed him aside. Oh, don't worry, the guy is fine. Although Danny can't say the same for his friends, who had cushioned the guy's landing.

...Okay, the guy may not be that fine since Danny grabbed the other two soldiers on the wheel's entire right side and throwing them shortly on top of the first guy.

Yeah, those guys definitely got some fractures and broken bones.

"Sorry not sorry!", Danny shouts as he turns around to see the others standing next to, or in front of the wheel tank, having managed to stop it while Danny's back was turn.

Without a backwards glance at the large groaning pile of bodies, Danny speedily flew towards the wheel, catching up with the others.

Just as Superman started pushing at the side of the wheel, toppling it over. Danny quickly joined him, along with Wonder Woman, and Hawkgirl. Successfully toppling it to its side, rendering it useless.

There were loud cheers from the Ally soldiers at this grand weapon's defeat. All of them rushing forward as they cheered in order to continue the battle on more even ground.

Meanwhile, the League all gathered in front of the toppled spiked tank wheel, Flash slowly walking over towards, them clutching his stomach in pain.

"I feel like road kill.", Flash groans.

Danny grimaced in sympathy as he lightly patted the speedster's back. There was a loud wolf whistle, gaining the supers' attention. One of the soldiers waved at Wonder Woman.

"Thanks doll!", he called out with a grin.

Wonder Woman waved back to him with a smile while the soldier was shoved good-naturally by one of his brothers in arms and they both hurriedly rejoined the others back into battle.

Unfortunately, despite the win, Danny had a feeling that those cheers are premature. There's no way this is it. Even without the League's interference, this is just too easy. There is no way they are going to get of this easy.

Martian Manhunter walked up to the group, holding up an unfamiliar device.

"I pulled this from the control panel.", he explained.

"Transistors.", Green Lantern recognized the tech in shock, "They weren't invented until after the war."

Martian Manhunter handed the large chip to Wonder Woman, who studied it closely.

"Da- The scientists at the Laboratory said that the hole was unstable.", Martian Manhunter deduced, "Whoever left from our time could have gotten here months ago. Perhaps years."

The group fell silent, but Danny was quick to cut through the tension.

"Look, it doesn't matter when this guy came here.", Danny says slowly, "Obviously I'm missing something here, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is, that this isn't right, someone is making changes in the past in order to change our future how they see it fit. Our goal hasn't changed. It doesn't matter what they do, or how long, what does matter, is that we stop them and change things back."

"So where do we start?", Hawkgirl asks sending Danny a small proud grin.

Unfortunately, Danny's earlier bad feeling was proven right, for no one got the chance to answer Hawkgirl as the ground rumbled and there was a loud explosion not to far away from them.

The group whirled around only to see not one, not two, but three new spiked wheel tanks join the battle, firing at the Allies. The soldiers running back and away from the giant tanks once more.

Danny curse in Esperanto, "Of freaking course they got more."

"Those troops are getting decimated.", Superman calls out to the others with narrowed eyes.

Not needing the order, Flash, Green Lantern, Danny, and Hawkgirl quickly flew/ran towards the soldiers' aid, while Superman stayed behind with Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman to finish planning their next move.

Already, Danny is throwing up Ghost shields left and right, raining down cover fire with his ectoblasts, creating temporary ghost-ice shelters for the soldiers to take cover under, and turning others intangible in order to get them out from beneath heavy debris or to protect them from an explosion or barrage from the enemy.

And all this in a span of less than fifteen minutes, Danny noticing Superman joining them while Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter flew off somewhere else.

The heroes doing everything they can in order to aid the Allies in their retreat. For a while, they were making good time, somehow managing to stay ahead of those monstrous wheels of tanks.

But unfortunately, the wheels picked up speed, going through and over anything and everything in their path, leaving behind a trail of destruction in their wake.

Danny was created a large thick wall of ghost ice in order to slow them down some more in order to give stragglers a chance to get away. But there wasn't a lot of time. The wall isn't as thick as Danny wanted, no, needed it to be. So, with the spikes on the tank, and the use of their cannons, it didn't take very long before they burst through the icy wall.

Cursing in Esperanto, Danny was just about to fly away in order to try and rush the troops even more, maybe find and create more ways to slow down these tanks. Though the halfa didn't get far when he heard fearful cries not very far away. Turning, and looking down, Danny spots two men trapped under rubble from a crumbling building, about to be crushed by one of those speed spiked wheeled tanks.

Without a second thought, Danny sped down, turning intangible, grabbing the two men while simultaneously turning them intangible as well, speeding out of the building with one unconscious man on his back, and another, awake, in his arms. Holding onto Danny with a death grip (he almost giggled out loud at the mental pun).

"Keep a tight grip on your friend!", Danny shouts over the sound of gunfire and explosions.

The man did as he was told while Danny speedily flew away, following the trail of retreating soldiers, heading towards a large beach. Meaning that today can be none other than D-Day. But instead of turning the war around, the Allies are now losing.

Danny clenches his jaw as he flies lower towards a large ship were men and vehicles are rushing upon in order to complete a full retreat. He landed inside, placing the conscious man gently down on the ground, allowing him to lean on Danny as they both walked deeper into the ship. The man stopping, only to slide down the steel wall panting heavily as he clutched his leg with a groan. Carefully, Danny rested the man's unconscious comrade right next him, taking care to position himself in the resting position.

Once sure that both men were okay, Danny was about to rush back to the entrance to see if there were any more that need help getting in. But before he could, the soldier grabbed his wrist, keeping Danny from leaving.

"Thank you.", the soldier panted heavily, but his words sincere, "I don't know why a kid like you is in a war zone like this, but without you, we wouldn't be alive right now. So, thank you."

Danny smiled, patting the older man's soldier, "Any time. Rest up that leg of yours and you'll be back on your feet in no time."

The soldier gave a weak smile before letting Danny go. Leaning back against the wall, eyes closed, with a deep heavy sigh.

Danny rushed to the front, just in time see an angry Flash race off with Hawkgirl calling after him.

"What's going on?", Danny asked the Thanagarian.

Before she could answer, Superman then comes flying in while holding a large tank over his head.

"Heads up! We've got company!", the Kryptonian shouts down to the duo.

Both Danny's and Hawkgirl's heads snapped up to see a large fleet of fighter planes heading straight for them.

"Great.", Hawkgirl growls, tapping her mace in the palm of her hand as it sparked dangerously at the sight of the enemy.

Thinking fast, Danny swiftly flew up and in front of the boats, creating the biggest, strongest, ghost shield he could make in order to protect as many boats and ships as possible just as the planes dived down barrage down at the ships. Enlarging the shield as much as he dared, while still keeping the shield's durability. Danny gritted his teeth as he tried to shield the boats as best as he could just as the planes dove down, firing a barrage down at the protected ships.

Fortunately, thanks to Danny's quick thinking, hardly any of the shots made their marks.

"Go!", Danny shouts to Hawk Girl and Superman, jerking his head up towards the plans, "I got the defensive, but it won't matter if those planes aren't taken down!"

Superman nodded in acknowledgment as he flew up to meet the planes headlong.

"Already on it!", Hawkgirl calls out, Mace out and sparking with electricity.

But even though both Superman and Hawkgirl are, one by one, taking down each plane as they come. There is only two of them, making it almost easy for three planes to slip pass and continue their bombardment. Danny's shield holding up strong.

It won't be like that forever if Danny doesn't do something.

Being careful to not lose any sort of concentration on the shield, Danny slowly raised one glowing green hand away from the shield. Carefully keeping his focus split evenly between his two objectives.

The three planes dove to make another pass, Danny's free hand glowed brighter, and Danny shot an ectoblast on the left wing on the far-left plane, causing it to bank to the right, crashing into the other two planes. The pilots all ejected just as the three planes exploded and fell to the ground in a burning heap of metal.

With that taken care of, Danny quickly replaced his full concentration on the shield, strengthens it once more as he kept an out for the soldiers. But by now, all the soldiers are all pretty much on the boats.

Danny just as to make sure their one way out of this blood-soaked beach stay afloat and running.

Looking up, checking on his team mates, Danny bites his lip nervously at the sight of both Superman and Hawkgirl being swarmed from how outnumbered they are.

For a second, Danny was about head up there to help when Hawkgirl was on the verge of being shot down, three planes were so close on her tail. But when the sound of gunfire echoed in the sky, it wasn't Hawkgirl that was shot down, but rather the three planes that were after her.

And just like that, four new players entered the field, flanking Hawkgirl as they all flew in formation, Superman quick to join them. Tables turned, Danny let the shield as the new blue and red fighter planes, Hawkgirl, and Superman made quick work with the enemy aircraft. Danny even got to shoot down the brave aircraft that tried to take the ships out as they slowly sailed away from shore.

Danny could help but smile and let out a few whoops and cheers of his own along with the rest of the soldiers on the ships as the four planes flew past, the remaining enemy aircraft flying off, retreating back to base.

...

With everyone safely aboard the ships, several of them sailed back to shore, but away from the fight, the four Ally planes, Hawkgirl, Superman, and Danny all flying above as cover.

Fortunately, there weren't any more attacks.

The ships landed further down the beach, and everyone was quick to unload and set up. Superman helped with the heavy lifting, making the unloading process go by much faster, Danny helped with the wounded, his ice core coming in handy, soothing many of the patients, especially those with high fevers, and Hawkgirl helped fortify the area with the other soldiers in case they are found and attacked.

Danny looked up, having just cooled up a fresh wash cloth for a sweating, sick, soldier, when a red blur passed by the medical area. Hawkgirl and Superman saw it two.

The three heroes leaving their designated areas to a spot by an empty truck Superman just unloaded to meet up with a despondent looking Flash.

"I couldn't find GL anywhere.", Flash told them before looking to a solemn looking Hawkgirl bitterly, "I still can't believe you left him behind."

At his words, Hawkgirl's eyes flashed as she glared at the speedster angrily, her fists clenched. Danny placed a, hopefully, comforting hand in her arm in hopes of calming her down. Hawkgirl looked down at Danny, eyes meeting his own understanding toxic green eyes for a moment.

Why is he of all people understanding? Why is it that a child understands war better than an adult? Why does Danny understand the choices in war at al?

Hawkgirl visibly calmed down before grabbing Flash's arm in a firm grip and lead him away.

"Come with me.", she ordered.

Danny stayed behind with Superman; the two-sharing worried looks. John hasn't been found. Danny can only hope that the guy is alright. He's got to.

As if he read Danny's mind, Superman squeezed the teen's shoulder reassuringly.

"John knows what he's doing.", Superman said with a small, thin smile, "We'll find him."

Danny couldn't but sigh, rubbing his arm anxiously.

"I hope so.", he muttered, forgetting that he isn't the only one with enhanced hearing.

Then there was the sound of aircraft, both Superman and Danny looked to see the four fighter planes that had helped them out earlier, circling around the piece of land they found refuge on before landing.

Danny and Superman regrouped with Flash and Hawkgirl as they all walked up to the four pilots who jumped out of their own aircraft. Hawkgirl taking point as they apporached who seemed to be the leader, wearing an all-blue uniform, with a black and gold symbol of a hawk on his chest and a blue pilots hat on his head.

"Thanks for helping us out back there.", Hawkgirl thanked them gratefully.

"Don't thank us.", the man replied as his pilots joined him, "We would have shot those planes down anyway."

Danny shrugged with a small smile, "It still helped us, so we're still grateful."

"I've never seen an insignia like that.", Superman commented curiously, "What countr are you from?"

"We're not from anyone country.", said the man, his voice stern, but there is a definite hint of pride in it as he spoke, gesturing to his men one by one, "Andre's from France. Henricks is from Holland. Olaf comes from Norway. And I'm Blackhawk, from Poland."

"All countries occupied by the Axis authorities.", Superman noted.

"We Blackhawks bow to no authority.", Blackhawk states with his head held high, "Until our home lands are free again."

"Viva la liberte!", Andre exclaims in agreement.

"Here here.", Danny couldn't help but say with a small smile.

"Are these guys for real?", Flash incredulously asked quietly.

"We gladly lay our lives down for our cause.", Blackhawk says firmly, leaving no room for question nor argument.

Yes, they are for real. And none of them are backing down.

Blackhawk looks to each hero, before he admits humbly, "But we can't win this war alone."

There was nothing else to say except...

"How can we help?", Hawkgirl asks determinedly.

The four Blackhawks shared looks before Blackhawk grinned at the four league members.

"Follow us."

...

The Blackhawks flew high above the clouds with Superman, Danny, and Hawkgirl, Flash running over the water below them. Flying in the formation with three Blackhawks in the front, the supers in the center, and one Blackhawk behind them, pulling up the rear.

"How do you think the others are doing?", Danny called out to the other airborne heroes, "Have any of them called in yet?"

"Wouldn't you have known if they did?", Superman questioned with a raised brow.

Danny shrugged with a sheepish look while he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, "Everything happened so fast, I didn't get a chance to grab my comn link before I had left with Clockwork."

"And you're just telling us this now!?", Hawkgirl looked over to Danny with a scolding glare, it reminded of Jazz whenever she's on top of him whenever one of them visits the other.

Why can red heads always be so scary whenever they want to be?

"Didn't think it mattered.", Danny mumbled, shifting nervously in flight.

But Hawkgirl wasn't having it as her eyes narrowed dangerously, glinting with what Danny very well knows to be a promise.

"When this is all over and we get back, you and I are going to have a little trip in the training room.", Hawkgirl told the teen ghost sternly, her voice holding conviction, "And I'm going to show you how much it matters young man."

"Yes ma'am.", Danny nods obediently.

Superman looked like he wasn't sure whether or not to smile in amusement or look at Phantom with sympathy. Either way, the man of steel decided to save the boy, for now.

Both males know full well that Hawkgirl will true to her word, and nothing is going to stop her.

"Back to your question Phantom, no one's called in the comns.", Superman told the halfa, "They're either too busy or aren't able to call."

Danny fidgeted anxiously at the thought of their separated friends, "Guess we can only hope that no news means good news."

Superman nods in agreement, while Hawkgirl remained silent.

It wasn't long until the group cleared through a large set of dark clouds, revealing a small island with a mini airfield located on it. Danny can only deduce that this is the Blackhawks base.

Not bad.

They all swooped down, banking left to easily land without any trouble at all. The second the Blackhawks landed, the exited their planes and headed inside the long building right next to the runway, the heroes didn't hesitate follow them inside. In a large room with a single large desk and several maps of the world pinned up on the walls.

Blackhawk appeared in front of his men and the four Justice League members present, holding a rolled map, most likely, and several sheets of paper.

"Welcome to Blackhawk Island.", Blackhawk nodded to the group as, "We were doing routine reconnaissance yesterday when we saw this."

Placing the sheets of papers down, Blackhawk revealed to actually be pictures as he tossed them on to the desk. Danny's glowing green eyes studied each sheet carefully, he didn't get to look very long when Hawkgirl had already scooped them up.

"Some kind of factory complex.", Hawkgirl stated as she observed the black and white pictures, Flash, Danny, and Superman looking over her shoulder as she did so.

"What are they building in there?", Flash asked, turning away from the pictures and looking back up at Blackhawk.

"We don't know.", Blackhawk admitted as he grabbed the rolled-up map or blueprint, "But whatever it is, they're determined to protect it at all cost. It's defended by anti-aircraft batteries.", Blackhawk unrolled the paper to show it a map of the factory, pointing to key areas as he debriefed the group, "Here, here, and here. If you can take those out, we can cripple the factory."

No debating or questions were needed. The fours heroes looked at Blackhawk in all seriousness, determination oozing off everyone one of them in waves.

Superman accepted their task, "Consider it done."

...

Off they go again, Flash sped beneath them, on land this time, as the four League members and four Blackhawks swiftly made their way to the factory.

"We should soon be approaching the target.", Superman warned.

And no sooner had he said this, something appeared in the distance.

"There it is!", Hawkgirl pointed out.

And just like that, they were fired upon. The Blackhawks flew up higher in evasive maneuvers, the three airborne heroes doing the same, instead flying closer instead of away.

"We should split up! Easier and quicker to take them apart!", Danny called over the gunfire.

Superman nodded in agreement, "Good idea. Let's go!"

Danny turned intangible as he dove straight down towards one of the batteries. The men shouted in surprise as they abandoned the weapon just as Danny/s hands glowed a cold ice blue and shot viciously down at the weapon, encasing it in a literal explosion of ghost ice. But the enemy didn't get to marvel at the sight for very long. For almost the exact same second the battery was frozen, Danny, now tangible, landed right on top of it, full force, mercilessly shattering it into a thousand of tiny icy pieces.

Absolutely freaked out, which is fair, the men had opened fired, but Danny turned intangible once more, firing out multiple concussive ectoblasts. Knocking out every last enemy soldier with a single shot.

"There.", Danny said with a satisfied grin, hands on his hips as he looked over his handy work, "That was fun."

"Fun's not over yet.", Hawkgirl quipped as she flew past the half-dead teenager.

Superman close behind her, "C'mon Phantom!"

"Coming!", Danny called, speedily catching up as the three flew up and away from the doomed factory.

A loud alarm rang out, and the works can be clearly seen running out of the factory, no doubt Flash's handy work.

With all the anti-aircraft batteries gone, and the workers evacuated, the Blackhawks were clear for their own path of destruction. Dropping down multiple bombs, and quickly reducing the factory into rubble with only just one pass.

With the ruins of the leftover factory still steaming, Superman, Danny, and Hawkgirl, all landed right next to the destroyed factory where Flash stood with contemplative look as he looked over the factory.

"Good work Flash.", Superman praised, "You saved all those workers."

Hawkgirl kneeled down, picking up a crumbling rock with an appraising look in her eyes.

"But what were they building here?", Hawkgirl wondered.

Danny turned to Flash curiously, "Did you see anything when you were getting the workers out?"

The speedster nodded towards a large piece of rubble, "I saw them working on that."

Without any other prompt, Superman flew over to where Flash had pointed, and easily tossed the large piece of stone away. Revealing large engine that can only belong to a big jet. Something that definitely shouldn't be here in this time period.

"Oh, Ancients.", Danny breathed followed by a short curse in Esperanto.

"Jet engine.", Superman said with a glare.

"But this technology is way to advanced.", Hawkgirl says in confusion.

"Isn't that part of why we are here?", Danny points out, "You guys said our present has changed, and not for the better. Clockwork got me before I could be affected by the change. Time is a mess here and we need to figure out how and why."

"The engine is from the future.", came a familiar voice from behind.

The four heroes turned to see Martian Manhunter land, looking very grim with whatever information he has found out.

"And I know how Savage is planning on using it.", Martian Manhunter told them ominously.

He was very quick to explain Savages plans to use the technology of the future in order to invade the entire world. Any minute now, Savage is going to enact his final phase and invade America.

Martian Manhunter just finished explaining when Blackhawk landed not too far in front of the group.

The top of the cockpit slid back and Blackhawk stood up in his seat, his expression a mix of urgency and worry.

"We've just intercepted a transmission from the resistance!", he informed them, having to shout to be heard, "Savage has mounted an airborne invasion! He's headed for America!"

Danny looked to the others with wide eye.

"The jet engine.", he states pointedly, the others were quick to understand his meaning.

Hawkgirl nodded, "That's why he needed the jet engines."

"Gotta warn the good guys.", said Flash before turning to Blackhawk, "Which way is West?"

"That way but...", Blackhawk didn't get to finish before Flash was already speeding off.

Danny and the rest of the League took off, the speedster going towards the Allies, the rest of them went after to try and stop, or stall the invasion.

...

For a while, after finding out that Savage has just launch an airborne invasion to America, everything was a blur for Danny.

Only clearing and focusing when he found himself in the middle of battle, taking down as many oversized black jets as possible.

Danny's eyes and hands glowed a bright toxic green as he shot multiple ectoblasts across one of the plane's right wing. Causing a couple of explosions to set off, the jet wavered, slowly drifting to the left with its dysfunctional right wing heavily damaged.

No sooner had he done that, infantry guns appeared along all the jets, firing at the heroes like no tomorrow. Danny easily dodged the gunfire, has hands and eyes glowed ice blue, and the young halfa began rapidly shooting his ice beams, taking out as many guns as he can in order to take out the heat on the rest of the league.

"Look out!", he hears Martian Manhunter shout.

Danny whirled around just time to see one of the jet's trying to ram him. Only for the ghostly teenager to turn intangible, the jet flying right through him, and as it continued its flight path away, Danny's hands glowed a bright toxic green again as he fired a strong beam at the jet's tail fins, causing one of the two to be on fire along with a large portion of the jet's back.

Out of the corner of his eyes, Danny sees the rest of the League fly up and above the jets, Wonder Woman having now rejoined them, Danny was quick to fly up with the rest of the group. Looking down at what they had done so far. Only three jets are on fire and none have been taken down yet.

Superman looked back to the group, before staring down at the fleet of jets determinedly.

"Let's go get 'em.", Superman ordered.

And the League scattered.

Danny flew straight down, into the back of the plane. At first, nothing happened, then ectoblasts shot right from where Danny disappeared, another exited the back of the ship, hitting one of the engines, and a third exits from the ships belly. With that damage, a large explosion set off at the ship's back, causing the ship shutter and falter. Danny flew up out of the hole he had first created with his chaos, and swerved so he flew behind the ship, taking out more than half of the engines, with a couple short accurate shots from his ectoblasts.

That was the last straw for the ship, for with a few mor shorts explosions bursting from its side and underbelly, the ship began a quick descent, crashing into the water with another brilliant explosion to follow after.

Turning, Danny's eyes zero in on his next target, he flew right in front of a barely damaged jet, and with a smirk, his hands glowed green and Danny shot glowing green ecto-goop right on the wind shield, practically making the jet flying blind. The pilots just barely able to see around or through the green goop.

But just as Dany was about to try and maneuver the plane to crash into another, the plane sudden speed up, speeding forward and ramming right into Danny before he could react to the jet's sudden increase of velocity.

Danny gasped, his yelp cut off from the air being ripped out of lungs, his head slamming against the ship's hull. Now dazed and falling in and out of unconsciousness, the halfa tumbled up and over the side of the ship, falling of it from behind. Danny was too out of it to even notice the fact he is now falling, much less to fly and stop his rapid descent.

Fortunately for Danny, Hawkgirl did.

The winged hero was quick to dive down and under, arms wrapping around his middle, as she swooped up to join up with the rest of the others. Danny's arm hooked over her shoulders and neck, while Hawkgirl held a firm grip around the semi-conscious teenager's waist.

"Thanks.", he croaked, holding a hand to his head as he tried to clear up his fuzzy mind.

Hawkgirl nodded with a reassuring side squeeze just as she caught up with the others.

"They're getting away!", she shouts as the last remaining four jets sped away.

"... maybe not.", Superman hummed, a knowing look now glinting in his eyes.

Not even a minute after Superman's vague comment, a barrage fired upon the jets, taking out one of them almost right away,

"Flash got them to listen.", Danny grinned, pulling himself away from Hawkgirl and flying on his own.

It wasn't long after until the lead plane began to go crazy under heavy fire. Most likely due to all the malfunctions from the damage it has taken, finally crashing in to the Atlantic, sinking beneath the ocean's waves.

The moment the leading plane crashed from the sky, the last two jets fly away, wavering a little in the air. Danny couldn't help but grin at the victory.

"Shouldn't we go after them?", Wonder Woman asked.

Danny raised a brow, "Do we have to?"

"I don't we'll need to.", Superman smirked.

Out in the far distance, four familiar forms took shape as the Blackhawks. And just like that, the last two remaining jets were shot down. The heroes all shared relieved smiles before flying away.

...

Of course, while the others had to use the same method to get back, Clockwork picked up Danny to drop him back off.

"How was your adventure?", Clockwork asked despite the knowing smirk that appeared on his ghostly face.

Danny couldn't help but smirk in return, "We both know that you are well aware how it went."

"True, but how did it feel to meet your new friends and go on one of my 'Time Missions' alongside them.", Clockwork replies genuinely.

Danny's smirk gentles in to a small semimetal smile.

"It... it was nice. I've only ever done this alone besides that one time with Sam.", Danny says fondly, "It's a nice change."

Clockwork nodded, looking infinitely satisfied. As if Danny's words had just solidified something Clockwork already knew. Whether it has to do with time or Danny himself, Ancients, it could be both for all the half-dead teen knew.

But what Danny does know, is that if he were to ask the Master of Time, he wouldn't get any answers. So, the halfa remained silent.

With a wave of his staff, Clockwork created one of his portals, "Your friends are just on the other side. Have a fun journey."

"Never change Clockwork!", Danny calls in farewell as he left through the portal.

Exiting the portal, Danny found everyone gathered in some giant metal room that seemed to be one giant machine. It kinda reminded Danny of the Ghost Portal Jack and Maddie had built in their basement.

But Danny wasn't alone, also in the giant metal room is the rest of the League as well as Batman.

"Hey guys!", Danny cheered with a wave.

"Hey Danny!", Flash waved, "Was wondering what happened to you."

"Clockwork wanted to pick me up.", Danny explained, hitching a thumb over his shoulder at the now disappearing portal behind him.

Batman arched a brow, "Next time a warning before you go jumping in some random portal would be nice."

Danny flushed sheepishly, "It wasn't a random portal though."

"I didn't know that.", was the Bat's quick rebuttal.

Danny just wilted while the others couldn't help but chuckle and/or smile at Batman's version of scolding Danny.

Well, they were until Hawkgirl pushed her way into the front with a sadistic grin.

"It's time Danny.", Hawkgirl said, looking very terrifying in that moment.

"Time for what?", Danny practically whimpered.

"I promised you a lesson when we got back.", Hawkgirl reminded him, "It's time I followed through."

For a second, Danny just stared at Hawkgirl with wide eyes, his face turning pale. Then the ghost teen screamed as he flew away like his life depended on it, because it might as well does.

"Oh no you don't!", Hawkgirl shouts flying close behind him and giving chase, "DANNY! Get you ghostly tail back here!"

Author's Note:

I have done it! I am back and more fired up than ever! Lately I've been rewatching the Justice League show to see what episodes I want Danny in and to get a feel for what I want to happen and it has inspired me.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to update. I haven't update a few of my other stories recently and have been working to change that. I hope you all enjoyed the chapter!

Be Your Best You! Bye!
