–WFI–Chapter 23 Friday, August 27

Ricky and Karson returned from their honeymoon. When they arrived back in Hartford they had presents for everyone. They arrived at the pool house around noon. They had been in touch with Rory and Logan the whole time. Plans were for them all to have supper together. Logan and Rory were notifying the rest of the family.

Rory and Lorelai took the kids' school clothes shopping. That is where they were when Ricky and Karson arrived. They were going to stay in the pool house until supper, so they could surprise them.

Logan and Rory were still discussing when to tell Karson about her father. They had met with Tristian. Dillon opened an investigation. They talked with Katie. Rory tried to convince her she needed to tell Karson. She told Rory "It would be better coming from you."

They also confronted Sharon about taking the money, she denied it. Rory was sure after Karson was told about her father and the fact that her mother would not tell her, that would be the end of the relationship. If you could even call what Katie and Karson had as a relationship. Karson and Katie would not have had to live the way they did if Katie would have named Austin as her father. He was in the military. She would have at least got child support.

This fell on Logan and Rory to tell her. They had decided that when they told her and Ricky, they would invite Tristian so he could tell Austin's side of the story. They decided that it would not be tonight. Tonight was a celebration of the newlyweds coming home and hearing the adventure they had.

Everyone was seated at the table, waiting on the salad to be served, when Karson and Ricky walked it. The boys jumped up to go hug them. They were glad to see them back. Em was so excited that she was in tears. They explained that after supper they will go get the presents they brought back. Everyone enjoyed hearing of their adventure. Karson was laughing so hard she almost could not tell about Ricky getting lost on the cruise ship. He got off on the wrong floor and walked around for an hour looking for the room. Karson finally called him to see what was taking so long. That's when he discovered he was on the wrong floor.

They talked about the tour they took on Key West. They pass their phones around for everyone to see the pictures. "You don't have any pictures on this phone that we should be worried about the kids seeing?" Lorelai asked.

Ricky blushed. "No Ma'am. They're on my camera." Ricky said. Karson hit him. Everyone was laughing.

Em said. "I don't understand. Why would you not want us to see the pictures?" She asked.

"You will understand when you are older," Karson told her. That seemed to satisfy her for the moment.

Christopher and Leslie were missing from the family dinner. Christopher had called earlier and said that they would come later. While they were drinking coffee and after-dinner drinks in the living room. Karson and Ricky were giving out the gifts when the doorbell rang. Logan got up to go to the door.

It was Leslie and Beverly. "Hey girls, Christopher parking the car?" he asked.

Leslie shook her head. "Can I talk with you and Rory in private please?" Leslie asked. Logan nodded.

"Beverly, Karson and Ricky are back from their honeymoon, they brought gifts. Go see what they brought you." Logan told Beverly. She went to the living room and Logan followed. "Hey, Ace, can you come to the office for a minute? Leslie wants to talk with us." Logan said.

Rory got up and followed Logan to the office. When they got there, Logan said. "Okay, what is going on?" Logan asked.

Leslie was looking at her hands, she would not look at Rory or Logan. "Greg showed up tonight. I didn't know he was coming. I haven't spoken to him in several weeks. He was home when Christopher got there. Greg and I were arguing. He wanted to stay with us for a while. I knew that Christopher would not go for that. I was trying to explain it to Greg. I even offered to put him up in a hotel suite. He kept yelling, I was crying, Beverly was crying too. She was scared. Chris came home. He tried to throw Greg out. Greg punched him. They started fighting. I guess the neighbors heard. The next thing I knew the cops were there. They took them both in to get both their stories. Chris told me to take Beverley to you and tell you what was going on."

Rory stood up. "I'll make sure someone stays with the kids, Logan will you bring the car around?" Logan was already walking out the office door.

Rory explained that everyone was alright, but Christopher needed her and Logan and she would explain later. On the way to the sheriff's office, Logan and Rory asked Leslie questions. She answered to the best of her knowledge. She told them that Greg had always been a problem, but she had never seen him hit someone like he hit Christopher.

When Logan walked through the doors, he went straight to the service desk. "You have Christopher Hayden. Is there any chance we can talk with him?" He asked the desk Sergeant.

Before he could answer, Special Agent Hanna Horne walked out of an office behind the desk "Logan, Rory, What brings you up here tonight?" She asked.

"Christopher Hayden, Rory's dad, was trying to escort an unwanted guest out of his home when the guest turned on him. We are up here to see if we can talk with him and see what we need to do to get him out." Logan told her.

The desk Sergeant said, "He's not being held. They are questioning him. He should be out in a few minutes. I will check for you." He said and picked up the phone.

Logan, Rory, and Hanna talked for a few minutes, then Christopher came walking through the doors. He had a black eye. "Daddy," Rory said as she ran toward him. "Your eye." They talked with Christopher. He was told that he could go. He asked for a 'No Trespass' notice for Gregory. The desk Sergeant gave Christopher paperwork to fill out. He was told that Gregory would be served and if he showed back up, he would be arrested.

Rory asked, "Can my dad be contacted if Greg makes bail?"

The desk Sergeant nodded. "I will make a note on the computer with your name and number. This number you gave, can you be contacted on it?" Christopher nodded.

Leslie hadn't said anything. "Let's go home," Christopher said. He grabbed Leslie's hand and headed to Rory's car. When they were on the road, Leslie asked Rory if Beverly could stay with them tonight. Rory and Logan agreed. They dropped Leslie and Christopher off at Leslie's car. They did not go in. When they pulled out of the driveway, Logan and Rory entered the house. Everyone was gone with the exception of Luke, Lorelai, and Matthew. Lorelai explained that she put the kids to bed. Beverly was in Em's room.
