Mer May Cuties

Chapter 1: Troubles and Lives of the Sea and Land

Caribbean Isles of Cuba

Cuba consisted of over 4,000 islands and cays surrounding the country's main island, many of which made up archipelagos. Off the south coast were two main archipelagos, Jardines de la Reina and the Canarreos Archipelago. The Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago ran along the northern coast and contained roughly 2,517 cays and islands. The Colorados Archipelago was located off the north-western coast.

Cayo Santa Maria

Santa Maria High school

Class 4-A

Sitting in the main classroom was a sixteen-year-old male, caucasian, with a slim small muscled figure befitting that of a swimmer. He had pumpkin orange hair that spiked back and front, blue eyes with reading glasses on, and had an orage hoodie jacket with the sleeves rolled up, blue jean shorts that ended between his calves, with straps on the sides, white and orange sneakers, and an orange watch. This was Wen Flysh, now a teenager. He was staring at the window, until someone nudged him. He looked to his right and saw a caucasian boy his same age and build, with blue hair with a tuff of bang in front, blue eyes, wearing a light green sleeveless hoodie, blue jean shorts, darker than Wen's with dark patterns on them, and had black sandals on. This was Clint Seastar, a ladies' man in his own way.. but with no suck luck for women.

"Hey, Wen, you might wanna pay attention," Clint warned him. "The teach is looking at you like she's gonna kill you."

Wen and Clint looked to see a female teacher, twenties, Caucasian, physically fit with auburn red hair done in a ponytail and green eyes, wearing a track suit. This was Deborah Genziki, mother of Stacy Genziki, and yes, she did look like she was gonna kill Wen, as she looked at him with an arched eyebrow and tapping her index finger on her desk.

Wen and Chris shuddered from her intimating glare. It was as though they were toads as she was the snake ready to eat them whole. "Sorry," Wen said weakly as he turned his attention back to the front. Some of the students were snickering or whispering to themselves at Wen's daydreaming as Deborah continued her lesson.

However, the bell rang, as she sighed, "Alright, monkeys have a good weekend, and Wen, stop daydreaming and staring out the window."

Wen became stiff from her last comment. "Yes maim, sorry," Wen said as the students packed up for the day. Wen began to do the same as he put his books in his bag.

Clint looked passed as he glanced at the teacher eyeing on Wen, and whispered to him, "I think the teacher's got the hots for you, man."

Wen snuck a quick glimpse at his teacher to see she was looking at him from the corner of her eye as she sorted some papers and put them into her briefcase. She had a neutral expression while looking at him out of the corner of her eye. "No, I think she's ticked at me for not paying attention,"

Wen whispered back, "This is the third time this week."

"Nah, dude. She's got a thing for you," Clint said with a grin.

"If by 'thing,' you mean she wants me to focus in the classroom," Wen replied back, "Than yes, she does."

Clint then smiled, "So... we on for that island camping trip?"

Wen smirked back in excitement, "You know it. I've been waiting year for this trip!"

"Of course you are," Clint said as he began to picture the trip himself, "A camping trip to a deserted island. Just us and so many girls in their swimsuits as they swim on the beach. Then a late night stroll alone in the woods during a test of courage."

He could see all the girls in their swimsuits swimming in the ocean as the sun poured down on the girls. Water droplets falling off the girls as they played volley ball or just relaxed on floaties.

"Yes to the first part, no to the rest," Wen replied back at his friend's girl crazy personality, "I'm more curious about exploring the island. No one's been on it for years."

For years, the island Wen was talking about was forbidden due to ghost stories about sirens and people disappearing on the island. But recently, the ban was lifted recently when the town council reviewed some of the old laws. After sending a team to investigate the island, it was declared safe by the town.

Clint frowned at his friend, as he stated, "you know, you really need a girlfriend."

"Yes, you've told me that every time you bring up girls," Wen said with a grin as he put his backpack on, "I'd rather focus on my education before dating."

Clint sighed, as he stopped as he got on his knees, with Wen walking off, as he prayed aloud, "Oh lord. Dear Lord..." He then comically shouted, "SEND A GIRLFRIEND FOR MY DEAR FRIEND, WEN!"

Wen shook his head at his friend's comedic pray, "Come on, Clint," Wen said, "Even if praying to the Lord did work, it's not like a girl is just going to drop into my arms and my life just like that."

Meanwhile

In the Atlantic Ocean

Fathoms below in the ocean, all sorts of aquatic life lived. Although it had become harder due to pollution from the surface. But the marine life continued to thrive. Most scientists and explorers would think only fish, crustaceans, and other known marine life were all that was down there. But what humanity didn't know was that there was another form of marine life that existed as long as humans have deep in the Azure Abyss.

Swimming through the waters were... humans. No, humans with their lower bodies replaced with fish tails and fins. Merfolk, the last descendants of Atlantis, evolved to survive underwater. Remaining hidden beneath the waves, and long-forgotten.

Their upper bodies were that of humans. But their lower halves were resembled fish with pelvic fins near the waist, a ring that resembled fish lips separating their human and fish half of their body, and different styles of fins.

Though one stood out among them as she swam away from the area. she was a sixteen-year-old dark skinned with flowing red hair that went to her hips, a bang nearly covering her left eye, and pinkish red eyes. She had a fabulous figure with C cup breasts, tight flat stomach and waist, beauty beyond comparison, and her mer tail was long pinkish with pink fins, and two steering fish side-fins. This was Gamila, a kind of outcast from the rest of the merfolk.

She was behind a sunken mast with an excited look on her face as she stared at something in the distance. "Gamila! Wait for me!"

Gamila looked back toward the source of the voice. "Kelli, quick! You have to see this," Gamila said in excitement.

Swimming to her was another mer girl, only she had lighter tan skin, pink hair cut in a military pixie style, blue eyes, B cup chest but physically fit, with a pink tail and fins, only her fin looked like a tadpole's tail. This was Kelli, Gamila's adopted sister and the enthustiastic one of her family. Kelli stopped next to her as she sighed, "I don't like it when you don't take me with you, Gamila. Makes me sad you don't bring me along."

"I'm sorry, I was just so excited," Gamila said before looking back at what she was looking at before, "Look at it."

Before the two girls was a large cruise ship that was now resting beneath the waves. There were signs of storm damage in different parts of the ship.

"WOW," Kelli squalled with a joyful expression, "I've never seen that one here before!"

"I think that one sank after the last storm," Gamila said with a smile on her face, "I just found it today! Isn't it fantastic?" Ever since she was young, Gamila had a curiosity about the surface world. Other than that one time when she was a child, she had never gone above the surface. But she always collected human items that fell off boats. Kelli was more excited about an adventure in a new place rather than the surface itself.

"It sure is," Kelli said in agreement, "Well what are we waiting for?!"

And then Kelli was about to zip towards it, but Gamila pulled her over, as she pouted, "Hey, we're going inside. What's the...?" But both felt shadows gliding over them as they hid, and saw them. Sharks, Great White and Hammerheads. Possibly some kind of territorial dispute.

"So they're at it again," Kelli said noticing the sharks fighting over the territory, "This is the third time this week."

"Well, they follow their instincts rather than logic," Gamila said, "Let's head for the ship and avoid being seen."

The two girls began to swim towards the ship by going on the ocean's surface to avoid being seen by the battling sharks.

Though they almost got crushed by a White as they slipped through a crack big enough to go through.

"That was close," Gamila said as she caught her breath along with Kelli. "Sure was, but we made it," Kelli said with glee as she and Gamila began to explore the inside of the ship. They were in a dark hallway that passengers used to go through to find their rooms. Already, signs of algae were on different parts of the hallways. Some of the doors were hanging off the hinges from sinking underwater.

Gamila reached into her bag and pulled out a medium-sized bottle. Inside were small blue pods of some kind. Gamila gave the bottle a quick shake causing the pods to release a blue glow. The hallway was revealed to two girls. "Just look at it, Kelli," Gamila said in amazement, "To think humans actually made this floating home. I wonder how they did it and what they used to make it."

Kelli hit the wall with a fist like knocking on a door, as she heard the hollowness, as she said, "Well it's not rock and it's not shell. Not sure."

Not knowing the answer only increased Gamila's curiosity about the ship and the human world. The two began to explore the hallways. More signs of algae growing on different parts of the hallway were seen as the girls continued. There were also downed carts used to carry food, laundry, and other things. Gamila and Kelli entered a room to see what they could find. The room was still intact despite the storm damage. Only there were signs of the last occupant quickly packing their things as signs of random items were scattered on the floor.

As Gamila looked around, something made her eyes shine with amazement. "Oh, my gosh," she said as the excitement in her voice grew, "Oh, my gosh!"

Gamila swam over and grabbed the source of her excitement. "This," she said as she turned around and showed it to Kelli. It was a red bikini with no back and thin strings holding each piece of the swimsuit together. "Have you ever seen anything so amazing in your entire life, Kelli," Gamila asked as she looked at the swimsuit as though it was the greatest thing in the world.

"Oh wow," Kelli said in excitement as she looked at the swimsuit as well, "What do you think it is? Something humans use?"

"I don't know. But it feels like seaweed without the slimy feeling," Gamila said as ran her hands on the fabric. Then she looked up and saw a mirror in front of her. It showed her reflection along with the swimsuit in front of her. Suddenly, an idea hit her. "Oh! Maybe humans put these on their bodies," Gamila said as she held the swimsuit in front of her breasts as though she was wearing it, "But I wonder what this bottom part is for," she added looking at the swimsuit bottom over her mermaid tail.

Kelli got behind her and gently checked around areas: hips, face, tail. But then she made the discover, as she slipped up the garment, and they cupped her sister's bare breasts, perking them up as she pulled back. Both stared at this, as Kelli blinked, "I think we found it."

Gamila felt the fabric around her breasts much to her surprise. The bikini top didn't irritate her breasts. But she never had anything on her breasts in her life so she could feel the difference. It felt so alien to her. "It feels weird. Comfortable, but weird," Gamila said looking at the bikini top on her. She looked back at the mirror to see her reflection with the bikini on. "Hmmm, not bad," Gamila said as she made a pose, "Maybe humans use these to improve their looks. What do you think-"

"OH, MY SHELLS!"

Gamila turned around quickly to see what Kelli was yelling about. "I've never seen this one before," Kelli exclaimed in excitement as she held a book up. It was a manga book due to the design of the book having the spine on the right of the cover rather than the left. On the front was a mermaid with blue hair and eyes while wearing a blue shell bikini top. However, that's all that could be seen as the water caused most of the cover and contents to fade beyond recognition.

Gamila blinked, as she asked, "What is with the chest coverings? Makes no sense."

"I think it's how humans imagine mermaids to look like," Kelli said as she zoomed through the faded pages to see what she could still see, "I just like to see the pictures of her adventures. With most of the text faded, it's hard to know what she's saying."

Gamila smiled at her sister's joy at the book. Kelli liked collecting only one human thing. A book about a mermaid that humans wrote about. Whenever Kelli would find a new volume, she would add it to her secret collection. She couldn't read it though due to the pages being damaged from the water, but she still loved looking at what pictures did survive the seawater.

"I wonder what she does this- time," Kelli said as she zoomed through the book but stopped at one page in particular.

Gamila swam over to see what made Kelli stop. It was a picture of the mermaid on the cover but she was changing. Her mermaid tail had split in half. One half still looked like a mermaid while the other resembled a human leg. The mermaid looked as though she was in pain as the change occurred.

"Is she- becoming human," Gamila asked in surprise and confusion, "How is that possible and why is she changing?"

"Maybe she's being cursed or something," Kelli said as she checked a few pages before and after the image, "It looks like she's in pain. But I can't find the cause of it."

Gamila though smiled as she said, "Still, it'd be pretty amazing to be able to do that."

"You think so," Kelli asked her with a raised eyebrow, "I prefer my mermaid tail over a pair of legs and living on land."

Gamila never told her sister about that fateful day when she met the human on the shore. She had kept it a secret ever since. She knew that her kind forbid contact with humans. But still, Gamila wished she could meet the boy again and even talk to him.

Gamila shook her head as she put the book away and swam over, as she said, "Well, let's see what else we can find." though Kelli felt it as she sensed something gliding by them, getting a feel of them there.

"What was that," Kelli asked as she looked around, "Did you hear something?"

"No," Gamila said as she looked around, "Say, I wonder what this one is," she said as she picked up a pair of sound proof wireless headphones.

But then Gamila noticed an old slim pair of panties, as she looked at it, "What is this thing?"

She picked up the pantie and looked at it. It looked like a piece of the bikini she found earlier but thinner. 'I wonder what humans use this for,' Gamila thought to herself.

"Hey, Gamila," Kelli asked as something huge floated from the broken remains of the wall behind her. "I feel like we're being watched."

Gamila looked at her step-sister who looked a little nervous. Gamila looked around a s well but didn't see or hear anything. "It might just be the atmosphere," Gamila said as she packed the panties, headphones, and book in her bag, "But maybe we should call it a day and head for home."

However, Gamila paled as she saw a huge shadow behind Kelli.

"Kelli, behind you," Gamila shouted in fear as she pointed at the shadow behind Kelli. Kelli turned around and saw the shadow as well. Her face filled with fear as she swam away from the shadow as fast as she could.

It was the inside of a Great White Shark's mouth, as it smashed through attempting to eat them as it could.

The two girls screamed in fear as they swam away from the shark as it chomped through the ship as though it were paper. The mermaids swam through the hallway trying to get some distance from the shark. Only for the Great White Shark to burst from the floor ready to eat both girls. The two stopped in time and swam the other way as the shark continued to give chase.

The shark gave chase after the girls as it chomped its way through the floor of the ship like a grinder tearing through logs of wood.

"That seems way hard for its stomach," Kelli cried out.

"Great White Sharks are always hungry," Gamila shouted back, "They would eat just about anything!"

It then dived down below, swimming faster... and then smashed in front of the girls attempting to bite them in half.

The girls screamed in terror and swam the other way and through another hallway. "He just doesn't give up," Gamila cried out as she and Kelli headed for the exit of the ship. Just as they turned the corner to where they came in, another shark burst through the opening causing the girls to stop and swim in another direction towards the deck.

However, before this shark could take a bite out of them... an orange and light orange finned tail smashed into his nose, folding it in, as it fell down, knocked out. The two girls were saved... or at least they thought they were. Their savior was a sixteen year old female mermaid, with orange hair that went down her back but tied up in an upper ponytail, blue eyes, clear Caucasian skin, a DD breast chest that hung out, and a lovely orange and light orange tail, with her slender figure showing a bit of small muscle.

"So this is where you two have been," the orange haired mermaid said as she stared at the two explorers, "Of all days to pull a stunt like this, you chose today of all days."

"Lorilee! Thanks for saving us," Gamila exclaimed in joy for her friend coming to her and Kelli's rescue.

"But how did you know we were here," Kelli asked in confusion, "We didn't tell anyone where we were going."

"You don't think I don't know when you're not at the corral cove, you're out here," Lorilee said.

Suddenly another great white charged at her, to which the girls cried out, "LORILEE!"

However, Lorille turned around and smashed her fist into it's nose almost pushing it into her head, as she roared, "I'M TRYIN' TA HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH THESE TWO, FUCK FACE!"

The shark was sent flying through the cruise ship and back out in the ocean depths were he crashed into a stone pillar. The shark was left out cold, its eyes white and his mouth opened as it was still in a daze from being struck so hard. Though it was probably due to the fact that it knew it was beaten by a merfolk, so it was reeling from traumatic shock mostly. Lorilee continued to glare at the shark while Gamila and Kelli stared with wide eyes at the hole Lorilee made with her attack.

Then, Lorilee straightened herself up as she looked at the two. "Now, as I was saying," Lorilee continued as though nothing had happened, "If you two aren't at the coral cove, you're out here exploring these piles of human junk."

The other sharks charged at her, including the recovered one... but Lorilee turned around and glared at them.

All the sharks immediately swam away. It was as though they saw the alpha predator of the sea and their survival instincts told them to escape to survive.

Lorilee floated there, her hands on her hips as she glared at the girls, "Home. Now."

"Yes, ma'am," both girls said nervously as they shivered from Lorilee's tone of voice.

Lorilee shook her head, as she swam to follow them both. Though Kelli whispered to Gamila, "You know, Lorilee's pretty and awesomely strong, but that scary attitude is what's keeping her from finding love."

"I heard that," Lorilee said making Kelli shivered in fear of her life.

Moments later

Coral Grove

The place was a nice picnic site, and was littered with dazzling coral reefs. There were canyon and balcony rock formations that gave it a nice theatrical build as some merfolk were enjoying their times together. All and all, it was one of the most peaceful parts of the depths of the Caribbean Seas. Gamila, Kelli, and Lorilee arrived and were among those that were enjoying the peaceful day in the merfolk society.

Lorilee set up the area on a sunny balcony as she sighed, "You're lucky the girls haven't shown up yet."

"We were just doing a little bit of exploring," Gamila said, "We were going to be on time."

Kelli nodded in agreement. But this earned a glare from Lorilee.

"Oh yes. The same time the next day if I hadn't saved you from the sharks," Lorilee said in tone that sounded like an older sister scolding their younger siblings, "But besides that, the seven of us can rarely get together like this, and you almost threw it away for another expedition. Who knows the next time we can meet up."

Kelli sat down as she shot out, "I'm surprised that you didn't invite your brother, Charles and Cody. I was thinking or dreading you'd try and hook us up with them to make sure we couldn't do this at all."

"This is a get together of the seven of us," Lorilee reminded Kelli before smirking, "Trying to get them a date is next week." Kelli groaned as the thought of being paired up with Lorilee's brothers.

"Now now, you girls," a familiar gentle voice spoke up. Swimming to them was an 18-year-old mermaid with caucasian skin, slender figure with H cup breasts, long light auburn hair tied up by a sweeweed ribbon with two bangs framing her face, and a light green tail, and her eyes always squinting. This was Lula, the big sister of the group and mother figure to them.

"There shouldn't be any arguing today of all days," Lula said as she sat down, "It's great to see the three of you."

"Thanks, and same here," Gamila said as she, Kelli, and Lorilee smiled at their friend.

Kelli smiled, "I guess Lorilee hasn't tried to set up you for a boyfriend."

"Oh she tries," Lula said smiling as she cupped her cheek, "Though sadly, I don't think there's any man that's a fit for me."

"Maybe if your standards weren't so high," Lorilee argued back with a grin, "You know, you can't be picky when it comes to men."

"Well maybe if some of them got to know us personally rather than for our looks," Kelli argued back, "After seeing how all the mermen act around Jeannie, it feels like all men like are a girl's looks rather than their personality."

Suddenly, a huge crowed a merman were seen gathering at the entrance at the park. They were surrounding someone or something like a group of obsessive fans wanting to see a celebrity.

"I rest my case," Kelli said with a sigh as the girls watched. Lula and Gamila smiled knowing who that was while Lorilee rolled her eyes at the usual thing that happened when they got together. The crowed of men were all carrying types of flowers as they tried to propose to the person as she swam though them.

Lula stated, "I'm not picky. It's just I want it to be for love. Not for when a guy sees me." she turned to Gamila and smiled, "Right, Gamila?" But the three noticed she was staring up at the watery surface, just thinking.

"Uh ho. There she goes again," Lorilee said pointing out how Gamila liked to stare up at the surface a lot. Kelli stared at her sister with a smile while Lula looked a little worried at her friend. They all knew that contact with the surface world is forbidden but that didn't stop Gamila's fascination with the surface. She was worried Gamila's curiosity would someday get her into trouble.

However, Gamila's starring was cut off when someone swam in front of her. It was a mermaid of her age, but had pale Caucasian skin, similar build, but she had violet eyes and dark plum hair that swept almost over her right eye. She had a purple tail with a Japanese fin like design, a rigged back side fin. She was Belladonna, an archivist in the ancient tomes of their past. "I see you're daydreaming of the surface again, arent you," she asked.

"I'm afraid so, Belladonna," Gamila admitted, "How are you doing?"

'Changing the subject as usually,' Belladonna thought to herself noticing how Gamila always changed the subject about her day dreaming. "I'm good, thanks. I'm sorry to keep you all waiting," Belladonna said as she sat down to join them, "It feels like forever since we sat together like this."

though they head a bunch of guys hooting out to two mergirls in particular. both were of the same age and build as the rest of the girls, except one had short pixie cut green hair and yellow eyes with green lipstick, a jungle green tail with sharp fins, and an E cup chest. The other was tanned skin aqua blue hair that covered her left eye which both were blue and the hair went down to her waist, and had a blue and light blue tail with two mini side fins on her tail, and her fin was diamondshaped like Kelli's. They were Jeannie, the debutant and beauty of the group, and Marjory, the shy beauty.

All five girls watched at the two mermaid beauties swam through the group of fan boys. "I feel bad for those two," Lula said in a sad expression, "They can't even go outside without being surrounded by merman like that."

"When your a celebrity, you don't have a private life anymore," Kelli said with a grin.

Jeannie and Marjory reached to the spot as she smiled, "Hello, babes. How are my favorite sisters doing today?"

"We were doing fine before you showed up, Queen Skank," Lorilee commonly mouthed to her. the others sighed as they knew the tomboy and beauty queen were total opposites, but in some odd way, were good friends. The slanging name calling was just a way of showing it.

"Well, it's even more fabulous now muscle mcgee," Jeannie shot back.

The nicknamed Jeannie and Lorilee glared daggers at each other but it was just their friendly rivalry. Nothing new for the other girls. "And how are you, Marjory," Gamila asked the shy girl, "I hope the crowed of your fans didn't cause you any trouble."

Marjory sighed, "I just don't like it, that's all. And I keep getting stares from the boys wanting me. And the girls all wishing I'd disappear." But then Marjory asked, "Though... what were you staring at before Jeannie and I got here?"

"Oh, nothing," Gamila said looking nervous, "I was just thinking about things."

"She was daydreaming about the surface again," Lorilee flatly said much to Gamila's embarrassment.

"Gamila, you know the surface is forbidden," Marjory said in a worried tone for her friend's safety, "It's dangerous up there for merfolk."

"I know. I have no intention of going up there," Gamila said assuring her friend that she wasn't going to break the law, "I just can't help but wonder about it, that's all."

Jeannie swam over to Gamila, and leaned over on her right, getting a good view of her eye. And then... it hit her. Jeannie smiled, as she gushed, "Oooo. It's a guy, isn't it?"

Marjory gasped in horror while the other girls looked with a mix of curiosity and concern for their friend's wellbeing.

"What!? That's ridiculous," Gamila exclaimed in embarrassment, "How could I have met a guy up there if I've never been to the surface!?"

"You mouth says no, but your eyes say yes," Jeannie said with a grin ,"I've seen that look in your eyes a thousand times in other men. So come on, what's his name? Is he cute?" Gamila remained silent at Jeannie's questions. "Can I see him then," Jeannie asked.

Gamila huffed, but then asked, "Why would you even think that it's a guy?"

"Well, usually, when a mermaid is staring up at the surface, they're usually thinking of committing fish-cide, but when I see that forelorn look in your eyes... it means you miss a guy,." Jeannie deduced. "Take it from someone whose seen this look."

"Well, you're wrong. I can't miss someone I never met," Gamila said denying Jeannie's accusation. "Now now, girls. We didn't meet up to argue," Lula said, "We came to catch up. The seven of us haven't been together in over a year."

Kelli and Marjory looked at each other as the former asked, "It's already been a year? Dang."

"Time flies when you're busy," Belladonna said, "The days seem to fly by when I work at the archives."

"Honestly, I thought it was more than one year," Marjory confessed

"Well, the important thing is that we're all here now," Gamila said focusing on the important part of their get together. Seeing each other and keeping the bond of their friendship strong and ever lasting.

On the Surface

Docks

The crowd of students with their bags packed for the trip were standing on the docks. Some were by themselves while others were in groups talking in excitement about the trip they were going on. Nearby were teachers preparing the lists of students they would be in charge of. Away from the group staring at the island across the sea was Wen with his bags. 'This is going to be great,' Wen thought to himself, 'I can't wait to see what's over there!'

Clint popped up next to him, as he had his bag too, as he smirked, "I know what you're thinking? What's over there? I'm hoping girls sunbathing nude, and nude skinny dipping."

"With the teachers coming, that's not going to happen buddy," Wen said with a grin, "But yeah. An island that hasn't been explored for years. Just imagine what's over there."

"I saw some guys bring metal detectors," Clint said, "They're probably thinking there's pirate treasure over there."

Wen sweatdropped, "You do know that's highly unlikely right?"

"That's what I said," Clint said, "Besides, if there were any treasure there, it will belong to the people of our town since the land is owned by government. The 'Finders Keepers' rule doesn't apply to treasure on land that's own by the town."

"Right. Only if the person lives on the land and pays taxes does any treasure found on the property count as there's," Wen said thinking about how cartoons and pirate stories fantasized how finding buried treasure works.

But then Wen shrugged, "but doesn't matter to me at all." And then walked to the docked ship.

"Of course not. You're already rich," Clint said jokingly as he followed after his friend. Wen ignored that last part as the two climbed on board the ship.

"Yeah, well, being rich doesn't buy everything. It' can't buy love, Clint," Wen said.

Clint shrugged, "Yeah, but you'd be surprised how well it could rent it."

Wen and Clint both blushed at that last statement. True the guys didn't have any luck with women, but still... it was kinda daring to say all that out like that. Much less make it embarrassing.

Once everyone was on board, the ship's horns went off and the boat began to make its way through the water towards the deserted island. Everyone stared at the island with excitement in their eyes. What things would they find there? Buried treasure, lost artifacts, undiscovered animals, out of town romance? They didn't know, but they knew this would be a great weekend. What Wen didn't know though was this was the weekend that would change his life forever.

Down Below

The girls were having a blast together for the longest time. Jeannie was trying to get Marjory to drink the latest of 'teas' but she was honestly trying to get the poor girl drunk. Apparently, Marjory got super wild when she did, and Jeannie needed her 'flying fish fin' girl to help out in teasing the boys out. Kelli and Lorilee were walking over on Lorilee's brothers as Lorilee was poking at Kelli on how much Gamila got her into trouble. While Gamila, Belladonna, and Lulu had the more common sense among them and were just reminiscing on how most of them met.

"I mean, what were the chances of all seven of us seeing the same pod of whales," Belladonna asked them as she recalled that day.

Years ago, all seven girls were playing in different parts of a coral reef when a pod of whales got their attention. The baby whales pulled each girl from different parts of the coral reef, and they ended up playing together all afternoon. Ever since, all seven of them had stayed close friends ever since.

"If it wasn't for that pod, I don't think any of us would have known each other," Lula admitted with a smile as she couldn't imagine life without her new friends.

"Well, everyone would know who Jeannie is," Gamila pointed out as the three girls laughed at that.

Lula smiled, as she said, cupping her right cheek, "I do think that baby whale might have intentionally brought us together."

Belladonna frowned, "There you go again, believing the whale had something to do with it. Like it was some friendship seeker." But then looked at Jeannie who managed to force Marjory to drink the bottle, even though her arms flailed about, and grimaced, "And yeah, everyone knows who Jeannie the Maid and Man-killer is."

"Well, coincidence or not, I'm really glad that baby whale did bring us all together," Gamila said while smiling, "These years with everyone are some of the best ones I ever had, and I wouldn't trade them for anything."

"Do you have any idea how corny you sound right now," Belladonna asked with a sly grin as all three girls laughed again. Meanwhile, Marjory immediately became drunk as she joined in on Jeanne's fun.

Marjory looked flushed and out of it, in a daze as she wobbled after gulping down the whole bottle.

Jeannie nudged her drunken friend as she smirked, "Wanna go break some hearts, Mar Mar? I know y..." But then blinked at Marjory as something seemed... a bit alarming, "Eh... Mar Mar?"

"It's so sad," Marjory said as she began to cry, "We haven't seen each other in so long! I missed all of you so much!" Marjory let out a small belch as she looked to Jeannie, and licked her lips, "Screw all those guys. Let's make out together!"

All the girls paled at this, as they thought, 'Dang it, Marjory! Why are you like this when drunk?!'

Marjory leaped at Jeanne as she held her drunk friend back. Marjory had her lips puckered up as though she was ready to kiss Jeanne. "No! Not with me," Jeanne said while struggling to hold Majory back, "With the guys!"

"But they're strangers," Marjory said in a drunken voice, "I know you a lot better!"

Kelli shouted, "Yeah, Marjory! Make out with Jeannie there!"

Lula waved smiling, "I give my blessing to you both."

Lorilee merely snickered, "Have fun making out, you two."

"Hey, wait! Don't leave me like this," Jeanne exclaimed reaching out for help from the others.

"You should know by now what happens when Marjory gets drunk," Belledonna said to her, "You brought this on yourself."

"You heard them, Jeanne," Marjory said as she kept trying to get closer, "Take responsibility!"

However, the sounds of trumpets were heard, as the girls looked up to see a pod of dolphins swam to them. Riding next to them were merfolk with special gold bands on their left forearms. Leading them was a handsome merman of their age, blonde hair, green eyes, and a confident smirk with a small muscle build that wasn't compact and showed the fitness details. This was Hiro, the champion of their pod and head of the Sea Guard; an elite police team to sanction the rules... no matter how unfair they were.

"Oh great," Kelli said while looking annoyed, "Mr. I'm Always Right is here."

"Just when things were getting interesting," Lula said in a disappointed tone of voice.

Lorilee sighed as she swam over to Marjory and Jeannie and pulled the blue haired girl up. "Come on, Marjory. Play time is over," Lorilee said to her.

"Okay," Marjory said while pouting as Jeanne recovered and picked herself up.

Hiro swam on over to them, but passed everyone else that seemed to be in awe at him. Even most of the mermaids that swooned for him. And though he went to their pod... he swam only to Gamila. He bowed to her and smiled, "Hello, Gamila. My fair Sea-Rose"

"Hello Hiro," Gamila said nervously as just his presence made her feel uneasy.

"That's Sir Hiro," Hiro addressed to her.

Gamila gulped, "Um, yeah. Sir Hiro. Might I ask what we've done wrong? Or is there something you need from us?"

"Well, I do have an important announcement for everyone," Hiro said while grinning pridefully and reaching his hand out, "But seeing you is a wonderful bonus to my day and I'm sure to yours as well."

Hearing that last part made Gamila's skin crawl just hearing that and from him getting closer to her. However, Belladonna and Lorilee were next to Gamila looking ready to defend their friend if he tried anything. "So, what is this important announcement," Belladonna asked him while glaring daggers at him, "I'm sure an important member Sea Guard has little time to be focusing on one mermaid."

HIro then declared, "Everyone! I have an important announcement. Today, I have reached the level of Commander. One day I shall lead this pod, and one step closer to becoming your Ocean Master: High Law and Leader of all of the Seven Seas!"

Everyone cheered on this as this announcement was made, but the seven there. It wasn't any secret that Ocean Master was a long sought out position that would enable one to command all of the Seven Seas and all who lived in it.

But Hiro turned to Gamila as he smiled, "But I'm also placing you, Gamila, in charge of guarding the Sacred Blue Lagoon Grotto on Crescent Isle."

"Me," Gamila asked in shock from such a declaration.

Even her friends were shocked by this new command. Everyone else was murmuring amongst themselves. Some were happy at such an honor while some were wondering why here and not them.

Hiro smiled as he acted like he was on top of the world, "Rejoice, Gamila. It is a very special duty and heavy burden to you to guard one of our more sacred sites, and keep the treasure hidden from the vile hands of those filthy human scum." Everyone seemed to either shudder or boo at teh very mention of humans.

It was no secret that the merfolk despised humans for polluting their ocean home and overfishing leaving less food for them. But Gamila couldn't bring herself to believe that all humans were the same.

"Don't look so sad Lady Gamila," Hiro said with his own smile, "By doing this task, you'll prove your responsibility to the rest of the Ocean Guard and show that you are worthy to join our ranks one day." He was a sly one this Hiro. He didn't say it, but this was his way of wanting her to be recruited so she would be under his thumb sooner. To the point of being seen as his woman.

Gamila smiled though as she feigned her frowns, "Oh, I'm very honored. But I assure you, even with this, I have no intention of joining the Sea Guard. I tend to find my own path."

"You may change your mind one day. The offer is always open," Hiro said with a smile. For everyone, it was a sign of his generosity, but Gamila and her friends could tell that it was just a mask hiding his true thoughts. Even though they couldn't tell what those thoughts were, the girls knew that Hiro could not be trusted.

Kelli swam up to her, and pulled away, "Okay, that's good. She'll report to the Grotto at Crescent Isle. So good day, Mr. Hiro."

The other girls swam up to Gamila as they helped her swim away. All the while, the seven secretly planned to salvage their interrupted reunion before Gamila's new job. As everyone resumed their day, Hiro focused completely on Gamila as she swam away. 'Ah Gamila. Such a wonderful beauty aside for that rebellious attitude of hers,' Hiro thought to himself as he saw the girls swim away, 'But fear not. I'll make you into the perfect wife once you're all mine. Then, you'll truly be happy.'

Hiro smiled, "You're right. I should take my leave." But then reached and kissed Gamila's hand, as he waved, "Good day, Gamila. I pray to Poseidon that we see each other more and more." And swam away with his crew.

Lorilee huffed, as she grimaced, "That guy gives me the creeps."

"Yeah," Jeanne admitted to the others, "He's the one guy I don't want to flirt with."

"I don't trust him," Belledonna admitted as well, "He's ambitious, I'll give him that. But he's clearly not as nice as he portrays himself to be."

"No kidding," Kelli exclaimed in anger, "I mean, making my sister guard the pond without her say so?! Jerk!"

"I hate his stupid blonde hair," Marjory hiccupped. "I prefer nice guys who make me feel comfy. Blonde dorks like him make me sick to my..." But then her cheeks puffed, as she swam to a hole in the wall, and puked in it.

Lorilee and the girls grimaced as she said, "Well, looks like bottom feeders are gonna be having some chum soon."

"And of all mermaids in the sea that he likes, it's you, Gamila," Lula said in a sympathetic voice, "What did you do to get his attention."

"I haven't the slightest idea," Gamila said sadly, "Either way, I have this bad feeling he's up to something."
