The sky falls around me as a voice whispers in my ear. I cannot hear. I do not want to hear. She tells me that it is her job to protect the world, but I do not hear that. She tells me that I need to live, but I do not hear that.
She begins to run, but I do not see this. I refuse to see it.
As quickly as I can, I run behind her and catch her arms. She looks at me for a moment, confused.
"I love you." I whisper. She looks away, her eyes consumed with pain. Then, with all the strength left in my beaten body, I push her off the tower. She falls to the floor, her body crashing onto a pile of wood. But I know she is alive.
With no time to look or say anything, I turn, run off the edge of the tower, and jump into the swirling mess. Those that I love scream my name, but I do not hear it. I feel a rush of pain, as if I have been struck by lightening.
Everything fades to black. The world fades away, and I die, knowing that what I have done was the best things that I could ever do. My sould has peace.
