A Wendy

So, what was happening to him, he wondered. For the first time in his life perhaps, he had felt something different. The feeling had stayed with him for the remainder of the night, burned his every being and tormented his mind. It made him feel dizzy and insecure.

This sense of wanting and longing. The feeling of being with someone instead of alone.

It had all seemed to happen before his very eyes in a moment.

The sight of two figures dancing in mid air as stars twinkled in the darkness of the sky. Fairy lights glowing around them. And everything seeming to hold in perfection just for them.

Just for them.

And there was that urge to know where he was at that very moment. The woods, the trees, his own hands lying on a tree stump, his breathing, and the light coming from Tinkerbell's tiny body.

Everything he had tried to picture and understand. And through this, he had suddenly become conscious of his own feelings, and his own thoughts and his own identity as he stared in awe below the two children dancing above him.

Never had envy come to him so forcefully before as he watched the two dancers lock eyes with one another.

How could an insolent youth experience something that he himself, a grown man, had never done? The feeling of so much warmth had never even passed him.

For there, in the brilliance of the glowing moon, staring so intently in the face of his sworn enemy was the most mesmerizing creature he had ever seen.

A Wendy.

A beautiful Wendy.

A Wendy that could never be his.

A/N: My revision of 'A Wendy'.
I'm afraid to say that it still lacks in words, has a lot of the same elements of the original and sounds a bit incomplete, but the way it is here seemed so very 'right' to me that I don't think I'll change anything just yet.
