Ever since the day I saw your face
I found the true meaning of love's sweet grace
Growing up I thought love was kind of silly
But that all changed the day I met Lily

I looked into her emerald eyes and I knew for sure
God must have spent a little more time on her
She was different from the other girls, she was pretty and smart
But she never accepted the feelings I had for her inside my heart

She thought I liked her because of her appearance
She thought my love would go away, like a Macy's sale clearance
As many times she's made fun of me, I still try my best
She's probably putting my love for her up to the test

I know one day, she'll make up her mind
And love for her is what she will find
Then Lily will see it wasn't serendipity
There's a reason I love her, it was destiny
