Opus for a ritual death
By Akon-Dikaios
AN: Only got 1 review, no flames to keep me from the cold of the season. It makes you wonder how screwed you are if you're so desperate for attention that you'd gladly accept flames. There's no attack of angst or self-pity coming this way even though I'm about to go back to a school I detest with people I can't relate to.

2. Sugar, coffee & ashes.
"If you're planning on following me, the least you could do is show yourself, unless.."
The words died in his mouth at the sight of the homeless kid from before, he was expecting someone else, a drunkard planning on jumping him, it had happened before.
"What do you want, I'm not giving you any more money" The kid wasn't intimidated by the harsh tone, he just waited. His eyes were begging for something, but Kai could not understand the message the blue orbs held.
Again the need to kill awoke in him, what mattered another life after the successes of tonight?. A hundred voices boomed in his head, it was alien to him having a conscience all of a sudden.
Kai tensed his muscled ready to strike the boy, but the thunderous voices yelling him to stop created such confusion in his mind that he could do nothing but hold against the wall before falling. Covering his ears was futile, but the gesture was instinctive. Feeling the dampness of blood over his palms was worrying him, if they could do such things to him he was not eager to test how far they would go to make themselves be obeyed.
"You hungry?", the words were out of his mouth in a tired tone before he realised it. The boy nodded confused by the sudden change of attitude, but dismissing it for his stomach then reminded him he had last eaten three days ago. Together they walked down the dark streets, only lit up momentarily by the cars passing by.
Kai just ignored the boy following him a couple of steps behind. But even from this distance he could smell the stench that came from the mongrel. Mixed with the common smell that people produced was another scent, more appealing to him. For a moment he got lost into that smell, the one from burned wood and gasoline. His pulse quickened at the images such smell evoked, so much that he unconsciously slowed his pace to be arm to arm with the kid.
'It's his hair, it still smells of the burned building'

The people inside the coffee shop stared at the new pair but a cold glare from the bluenette told them to mind their own business, which they did, returning to their respective cups of coffee. again the voices made him falter his steps, now they mocked him, their laughs could have been mistaken for a thunder storm, but he had never been afraid of storms, not even as a child. This voices were getting too familiar for his taste. Being able to read his thoughts the voices laughed harder.
"Fuck off"
"What?!!"
Kai forgot the kid was following him, and he had obviously heard him. 'Great now he thinks I'm a nut-case'.
"Hey, what did you say?!!"
Kai again ignored the boy, finding a seat at an empty table at the back. He couldn't help but whisper insults to each patron present, hopping they'll die from a bleeding ulcer and some other pleasantries. And each and every time the voices spoke, making him cringe at the noise that only him heard.
Through all the dinner the boy keep watching him. It was interesting see how he managed to gulp down all that food without loosing eye contact with him. Many times he opened his mouth, just to stop to bite another piece of his meal. Kai felt disgusted at the pace the boy eaten and his obvious lack of manners, before he had thought he could not dislike this kid any more but all that was proven wrong when the kid tried to talk to him with his mouth full. Finally the spectacle resulted too much for him. "Kid if you have something to say, say it, don't make me waste my time" 'Not to mention my breakfast' he thought fighting the impulse to vomit.
Time was running out for him, he couldn't waste it with a stupid boy. 'And we know you have so many things to do!'. Impatient, angry and tired he paid for the meal and walked out, leaving the kid behind.
His hand stopped by the door at the same time the kid yelled him to stop, "What happened there?". A predatory smile appeared in his face, and with a little satisfaction he noticed the growing tremors of the boy's shoulders as he got closer. Lowing to eye level with the kid, Kai glared at the imprudence showed, 'How dare he, stick his nose in such matters'.
"That was simply an execution" He spat, and the kid's eyes went wide with terror. The customers fled the scene in a hurry, no one spared a glance back or tried to help the kid. They were too preoccupied with saving their own asses to care for a stranger. This time the kid didn't try stop him when he went through the door.
A few blocks later Kai noticed the familiar feeling of eyes on him, his ears caught the sound of feet, small feet. 'He won't give up' . This time he would kill him, voices or no voices he had enough of that street rat following him like a lost puppy. 'Fine have it your way'. He tried hard to ignore the voices, his skull felt like exploding and he was sure a vein or two popped in his forehead from the effort of keeping his eyes open.
The boy appeared out of the corner, any other person would have fled at the sight of Kai in a killing rage, but this kid just advanced slowly. As if dealing with a wild animal, no sudden movement, no noise, steady breathing. The distance between them disappeared slowly, blood pumped into his brain, and Kai could swear his head palpitated at the same beat the boy's heart followed. And then he leaped after his prey.
He had the boy against the wall in a blink. Both bodies were trembling, one from fear, the other from rage n' pain. The panic in those midnight blue eyes was reconforting in a twisted kind of way. From this distance the smell of smoke coming from the boy was stronger. Mixing with the smell of fear resulted in a perfume that awoke a new thirst in him. His hands, meant to break and pummel flesh n' bone, now travelled through all the young body, finally resting at the kid's head, holding in place for him to take a deep breath of that intoxicating smell, the aftermath of an inferno of which he was the author. His nostrils filled with the smell of ashes were enough for him to unleash a chain reaction. Hands ripped any cloth that came in their way of unveiling more flesh and heat.
The pleading voice of the boy enchanting 'no, no, stop' mixed with the ones in his head, being impossible to distinguish one from the other. Somehow they ended on the floor, him hovering over the child's trembling body, writhing to break free. Not noticing that in his haste for escape he was feeding the hunger of the lust-driven creature above him.
Kai had enough sense in him to notice a change in the situation. At first just a slight lack of breath, the blurry sight. All that things he dismissed thinking them caused by the arousal in him. But then the ragged breathing could not bring enough oxygen to his lungs and brain. His hand, occupied with pinching a pink nipple started to shake fiercely. His body was burning, but not in the welcomed kind of way, but as if he was literally aflame.
Then he smelt it, barely noticeable, but growing strong by the minute. The stench of human flesh, burned human flesh. All became dark, and the second he blinked he could only see red and black. Fire, he was trapped into a big inferno. Specifically the one he produced a few hours ago. Of that he was sure, for he recognised the wallpaper burning slowly.
He ran for the door, but everywhere a wall of fire stopped him. This was not to happen, he was the master of fire, he was Dranzer, for god's sake. He was feared in the streets, the best in his field. To die this way would be a big irony, but that's life for you, giving you a big kick where it hurts more.
"It's different from this perspective ain't it?" A mocking voice said from somewhere in the flames.
