Chapter 2: Conflicts
Scene 3: Ghanima at college classes- nearly 2pm, Phys Sci- Chemistry Unit's final day, nearly 1 week later
Ghanima thinks 'Agck, here they go again' as the girl next to her starts talking to the girl across the table.
'Inconsiderate snots!, I can hardly hear the lecture!! All they ever talk about is 'my boyfriend, this' and 'drinking, that'- prepubescent slime!!' Ghanima thinks further.
'They are the Borg and resistance is NOT futile!!!!' Ghanima's last thought before-
"And this is 'Polypropylene', which is where one of the hydrogens is replaced by a carbon attached to three hydrogens..." intones the teacher.
"You guys, did you hear what he just said?" Ghanima asks her non-listening group-mates.
"Fine, you'll be wrong and I won't correct you." Ghanima states. That got their attention.
"What did you say?" one of the girls asked.
"I asked if you heard what he said." stated Ghanima.
"No, what did he say?" asked the other girl.
"Well, don't ask me, ask him to repeat what he just said about polypropylene." Ghanima retorted.
"Fine, what did you say about polypropylene again?" asked the same girl.
"Well,..." intones the teacher as he states it again.
As usual, the two girls start talking again and miss the same part.
"Did you hear what he said?" Ghanima asks politely, as to not completely emply that they weren't listening again.
"No..., could you tell us what he said?" the same girl asks.
"No, I won't. If you want to know what he said, ask him again." Ghanima stated semi-hotly.
The girl asked the teacher again, and surprisingly, she actually listened.
'See what listening to lecture will do?' thought Ghanima.
After that, class didn't get any more interesting so Ghanima just zoned out the rest of the time period, since she already had the class-work done for that day.
