Artemis Fowl sat at his desk, having finished all of his class work, along with homework. He was quite bored. He was reading the Oddesy by Homer for the fifth time this month, wondering how long it would take for the rest of the idiots around him to be able to finish a book in that space of time. "Okay class. Time's up. Hand in your reports, and I'll have them graded by next Monday. Artemis, as usual, since you handed yours in early, I got a chance to grade it. 150%. As usual." Said Mrs. McRorie. She said this with a bore in her voice, since that was the grade Artemis always received. It was as predictable as the time a television show was going to appear. Same time, same day, same show. Same grade. For Artemis anyway. The other students' grades were what some would call colorful. "Excuse me. Mrs. McRorie? Artemis' father is waiting for him in the main office. He needs to leave straight away." Said the Principle's assistant. Artemis stood up, picked up his books, and went to his locker to get his things. As he arrived at his locker, he opened it, and then spotted a girl that looked about his age. Her locker was next to his, and he seemed to be regretting that. She had black hair, clear blue eyes, and fair skin, flawless skin. She looked neat and tidy in her school uniform. Artemis gathered his things, and walked as quickly as he could to the main office. "Artemis! Come! We must get home as soon as possible! Something's gone wrong with Butler." Said his father, a look of urgency in his eyes. Artemis followed his quick stride out to the car that waited for them, and it drove quickly away, speeding towards Fowl Manor.
