Zaro - Legacy
Zaro did not like Selbina. The port town was full of would could be described as youngsters. People unaware that their actions affect others. Zaro tried to turn a blind eye or ear as the case may be, although with the size of Zaro's ears this was not easy.
Zaro wanted to return to lands where he first started on his journey. These unfamiliar lands are very daunting for young travellers. On Zaro's travels to Buburimu he found various strong monsters that would easily pummel Zaro's head in. The ground was a white/grey colour with other travellers roaming the area fighting creatures strong then themselves in order to become stronger.
As Zaro travelled through the, what could only be described as a valley he met some very interesting people. Upon closer inspection they turned out to be Black Knights, a circle that Zaro had considered joining. The 6 Black Knights where going to travel to the Shakrahmi maze. The explained that it would be a long haul but apparently worth the travel. Zaro was asked to join the expedition and Zaro did not waste anytime accepting the offer.
It took several hours to reach Windurst Woods, for the knights at least. The Black Knights where riding chocobos. These yellow ostrich like birds could travel great distances in short periods of time. Zaro had to walk. He kept up with the group for as long as he could but it took a couple more hours for him to reach the required destination. It was late and the group decided to go to the nearest town and then return to this spot in the morning. Zaro took the advice as some strong monsters whilst travelling to the Windurst woods had wounded him.
The next day Zaro met up with the Black Knights and they set about their quest. Zaro was very wary about his new companions. For one thing Black Knights look like evil pieces of work. The travels of the Black Knights had become legend to some of the people Zaro spoke to the night before but Zaro felt out of place within the group. Zaro was a low level fighter and all the others where powerful experienced fighters, mages and bards. Suffice to say Zaro didn't last very long when in a fight. He ended up being returned to Selbina.
Zaro wanted to see the world but was unable to until he found Fen, but he then thought of a new goal. A new objective. A new adventure. To find Xylia. This would be no easy task as Xylia has a habit of moving to one area and then being returned to another area because she died.
In this world people do not die permanently. Instead their bodies lie in a state of torpor. These bodies cannot move but a White Mage can revive them in that spot. Normally this doesn't happen and you are returned to a safe zone with full health. Zaro's new trip will be lengthy but it will be worth it in the end. Zaro had some money spare and decided to buy some new equipment.
Whilst waiting for the boat back Zaro engaged in a conversation with a Tarutaru. This Tarutaru had not seen Xylia or Fen but did tell me that the Black Knights got to the end of the maze. Truly these knights where something else. As the boat arrived Zaro thought back about his adventures in Selbina and thought about all the people back home.
To be continued.
