Title: A Dance Between Friends
Author: The Depressed
Summery: Buffy and Xander reflect. Set after season seven.
Disclaimer: Own nothing. Don't even think for a minute I wouldn't, if I could though!
Author's note: Ok, this story idea came at like.2 a.m. It was after reading posts to a "Who do you think Buffy should be with?" Discussion. I was in as a Buffy/Angel fan, there were Spuffy fans, thank god there were no Riley's, and I believe a BeeGee, and then there was this one person, who said that she should be with Xander. It stewed in my mind, and slowly, this story evolved. This is a one shot fic. Done with it, unless my muse decides otherwise.
Read and review please!

Buffy and Xander sat on a couch at a club called Mikki's. It was the gang's new hangout since the destruction of Sunnydale.
The two friends watched as their friends danced, Willow and Kennedy, Faith and Wood, Dawn and Andrew, the most unusual pair. Buffy didn't know what she felt about Andrew and her sister.
"Why is it that it's always like this?"
"Huh?"
"Well, we're always happy or sad in shifts."
"I don't thinks it's always like that, Xand."
"Oh yeah? Right now. Will and Kennedy are happy. We're moping. Anya and I break up, you and Spike break up, and Will and Tara are getting back together.
"You and Angel break up, Cordy and I.well, we were still hiding in closets, but somewhat together, and Will and Oz were happy. With Angel, I was moping over you, while Willow was bummed that I didn't like her."
"Well, ok. I guess. But, at the moment, I'm giving up looking for a guy. It always ends with them leaving."
"Or becoming monsters. And not poking fun. I've had the same luck."
"Yeah." Buffy sighed. They sat in silence for a few minutes. Buffy looked over at her best friend and realized he had always been there for her, no matter what.
Xander already knew how much he owed Buffy, without her, he'd be dead. And he still liked her, deep down.
The silence became awkward.
"Wanna dance?" Buffy asked finally.
"Sure, why not?" Xander took her offered hand and they walked onto the crowded dance floor.
