Chapter 1 - The start. (duh)
Nick woke up. He looked at his watch. It blinked at him, innocently.
11:56
"Holy Shit!" And with clothes flying everywhere, he leapt into his jeans and charged past his mum, who looked on, bewildered. Little did she know her son would become the greatest trainer in the history of Kanto and Johto. He was there with two minutes to spare and with relief stepped into Oak's lab and called out. "Professor?"
The old man leaned out from his studies in the next room. He recognised Nick's face and moved to greet him. "Ah Nick, right on time I see."
"As always professor." "Ok then lets get started shall we?"
The pair ventured further and further into the lab, which stretched for at least an acre and further with the fields behind. Eventually Oak halted abruptly. He had stopped at a large room; completely glass, which contained nine creatures.
"Now then Nick, as promised, you may have you're pick of the Pokemon in this room, which we like to call the starters room." "Ok"
There were three grass types in the corner, Bulbasaur, Chikorita and Bellsprout. Nick had heard that grass types were tough to handle and he decided against the idea of choosing one. Then there were the water types. Squirtle, Mariil and Totodile. But the Pokemon that caught his eye the most was the one sitting in the other corner. He didn't recognise it.
"Professor, what's that Pokemon?" "Well that's a Torchic we just got it back from the Hoenn region. It's a rare specimen in these parts." "Can I get it?"
Five minutes later and Nick was on the road, with his first ever Poke ball on his belt. This was a new beginning for him. Mocked and bullied all his life, he now had a purpose, a dream, a future. Little did Nick know what was in store for him.
