Disclaimer: I don't own One Tree Hill. And I don't ship for this
relationship, but I got an idea for it, so I guess it isn't so bad. Just
read it!
Lucas walked through the packed halls of Tree Hill High. He walked up behind a beautiful brunette who was chatting animatedly with her equally beautiful blond friend.
"Hey," he said. She spun around and smiled.
"Hi, Gorgeous," Brooke replied.
"I'm going to take this as my cue to leave," Peyton said. She grabbed her books from her locker.
"Oh, you don't have to go, Pey," Brooke said, grabbing her friends arm. Peyton just laughed.
"Right, and if I stay here I get to watch the two of you make out. That's great. Later Luke," she said. She waved bye to Brooke and headed in the opposite direction. Brooke and Lucas watched her leave, both feeling the pang of what them being together was doing to her. But Peyton had given Brooke "Permission" to be with Lucas and was trying her very best to make it seem like it didn't bother her.
"So," Brooke began. Lucas dove down and kissed her lightly.
"She didn't want to watch us make out. She's gone now," he said with an evil grin. Brooke just laughed.
"What have I done to you?"
"Well, I've definitely changed, hopefully for the better," he acknowledged. She nodded.
"I'm sure it's not for the better, but what can you do?" she joked. He just laughed and pulled something out of his pocket and handed it to her. "What's this?" she asked.
"Open it and see," he said. She smiled at him and unfolded the paper. On it was a brightly coloured picture.
"Oh, uh. Thanks," she said, trying to be gracious, while having no idea of what it was. Lucas just laughed.
"You don't know what it is, do you?" He asked. She just shook her head apologetically.
"I'm sorry, it looks like a propeller with a tail," she laughed. He smiled.
"Well you're close. It's a crossover between a squirrel and a propeller," he leaned in close to her and whispered, "I call it a 'Squeller'." She looked confused for a moment, but then her frown turned into an all out smile, complete with a laugh.
"Oh my god, Luke, this is great. I can't believe you remembered," she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him, but couldn't keep the smile off of her face.
"I couldn't help but remember. I never want to forget anything about you."
"When did you get so sweet?"
"I think it had something to do with growing up with only a mother. You know, the endless chick flicks and sob stories. I took hints from the leading guys."
"Really?"
"No, not really," he said with a laugh.
"Well, whatever it is, keep it up. I like it."
"It just comes so easy around you. You amaze me, Brooke," he kissed her forehead lightly.
"I can definitely say the same about you," she agreed. He just smiled and hugged her tightly.
"I'm never going to let you go," he said.
"Oh, save me. What a horrible fate," she joked. He just kissed her again, but this time, it was full of promise, faith, and most of all, love.
