Genesis 1 - Intrusions and Introductions
He slowly walked up the stairs leading to the fifth floor, feeling a little tried as he had been on the move all day and hadn't had much sleep the night before. Planes made him uneasy. At the top of the stairs he saw a large window to his left and the first door in a long line that continued down the hall, in front of him. It was dark and dreary outside and it shown inside the building. As he walked towards the door in front of him, he noticed a name plate bolted to the door "I wonder if this is it..." he thought as he examined it.
After getting a good look at the plate he realized that the letters carved on its smooth metal surface were written in kanji, he let out a sigh of frustration and started to walk down the hall. He went as far as three more doors before trying again, he stopped in front of the door and took a breath to try and relax his tired, but still slightly shot, nerves. As he opened the door and stepped in, a look for disappointment crossed his face; he had expected the home of Major Katsuragi to be brighter. And not as messy. He took a few more careful steps forward and noticed that all that lie beyond the hallway was a small dresser and a bed; "Thought it would be a lot bigger too..." he thought while looking around what seemed to be all that this room had to offer.
As he took a couple more steps towards the dresser a shrill, yet calm voice addressed him "Who are you?" He jumped abit and spun around, almost losing his balance and falling over. Once he regained his balance, he saw a short, slender girl stand by a small counter holding a glass of water; she had fair complexion, deep red eyes, short blue hair, and was wearing a faded blue shirt that hung down a little past her knees. She blinked and slowly spoke again "Well...?" He examined her closer as she shrugged and took another sip of water, glancing over at him once in the process.
In the face of the young man that had barged into the girls apartment without invitation, was expressed great thought; he then spoke up "Hmm...You are the First Child, Rei Ayanami....Correct?" Ayanami looked at him with a sort of blank stare then nodded curtly "Correct.". "Excuse me for the intrusion; I was looking for Major Katsuragi. Could you point me in her direction?" Ayanami set down her glass and walked towards the door, opened it, and pointed in the direction he had came from, he walked to the door and nodded his head "Thank you." he said as politely as he could.
He took one step out of the doorway then turned around to face her "I am the Sixth Child, Chris Hideaki, nice to meet you." he smiled and turned to start walking back down the hall. As the door closed behind him Ayanami stood where she was and ponder in abit of confusion "Commander Ikari never mentioned anything about another pilot...what will he pilot? There is nothing to pilot..." she let out a soft yawn and climbed into bed trying to figure out how there could be a sixth child.
