I Smell Smoke

I'm so bored. I'm supposed to be training team eight, my team, but I'm too lazy. Heh, they can manage by themselves anyway, they're genins after all.
I'm sitting in a tree, oblivious to the world around me. I hear Akamaru barking in the distance, at least I know the team is safe. The leaves of the trees in Konoha are greener than usual. I'm happy.
The trees are healthy, strong...Like someone I know...Someone I know well...
I sniff the air, like Akamaru or Kiba would. I smile.
I smell smoke.
I feel someone embrace me tightly from behind, and the scent becomes stronger. I smile and return the gesture.
Most people don't like the smell of smoke. Neither did I....Until I met Asuma.
There is one thing I don't like about that habbit of his. Sure, it's a unique character trait, but still...Though Asuma is healthy NOW, what about in ten years? I don't want to lose him...
We hug while sitting in the huge, leafy green tree of Konohagakure. We can worry about his health later, right now we shall talk about this leafy tree.
