Miss You
The graveyard was empty, the gate creaking slightly in the fierce winds. Rain was falling lightly, but not enough to matter. Dusk was setting in, staining the sky with deep blue streaks against a gold dipped sky.
The ground of the small cemetery was sparsely covered in grass, but it had turned muddy through human tread, the grass mingling with the rain and soil below to make a sludgy mixture. And yet, one small boy sat alone, in the rapidly darkening area, next to a grave.
He sat and he wept.
Crying seemed to be the only way to rid his small body of his terrible grief, the horror that he was now truly alone was too much for him, and he had collapsed next to the tomb both physically and mentally exhausted.
He was kneeling down in the dying grass, his small hand delicately tracing the engraved lettering on the head stone. His breath was ragged, due to the sobs which racked his small frame.
His fingers ran through the grooves of each individual letter, as if each was more important than the one which preceded it. He seemed to be whispering the person's name, but his voice was almost inaudible; hoarse through crying.
"Yami…"
His hand reached the last letter and fell limply to his side. He hung his head and allowed the rain to wash away his pain as the drops fell faster and faster…The boy jumped when a thunderous clap of lightning split the sky. There was no gold in the sky anymore – it had darkened to deep blue; almost black.
There was a single light by where he was sitting, but it provided little illumination, and he was only able to read the stone because he had read it so many times he knew the words off by heart. The rain fell about him, as more thunder was heard. But the small boy paid little attention to it; instead turning back to the grave.
"I miss you Yami…I don't like being alone …"
He stayed staring; the rain beat down heavily, the wind whipped his clothes, and yet he stayed.
Until the golden skies returned, streaking across the sky providing the world with natural light. Yuugi stood to his full height; which wasn't much. And he took one last look at the grave that had been dug only yesterday.
"I miss you Yami; I miss everyone. But…I know we'll meet again someday."
The small boy smiled; his large amethyst eyes now dry as he slowly began to fade away.
The sun shone brightly as a new day arrived; there was not a trace of the boy who had sat near the grave the night before.
The grave was elegantly decorated, and had many bouquets and toys next to it. There was a large teddy from Anzu, and the Dark Magician card from Yami.
There was a picture of everyone; Yuugi, Yami, Anzu, Honda, Jounouchi, Ryou…even Seto Kaiba. It had been signed by them all and in bold across the bottom was a message from them all, to the little angel:
Miss you Yuugi…you'll always be in our hearts.
