Only Heart

Disclaimer: I don't own Lizzie McGuire and I don't own John Mayer's song, which is only used for the title. I also don't own Gameboy, if anyone bothers to pick up on the reference.
A/N: This is just a fluffy little one-shot in which Lizzie accepts to be Gordo's girlfriend. It's set almost immediately after TLMM. Please read and review! Flames are welcome, they don't hurt me a bit, but constructive criticism would be nice.

Lizzie McGuire heaved a huge sigh and peeked out the window of the airplane. She could see clearly now the tops of trees and buildings, tiny people roaming the streets, cars, school buses, her house... they were getting ever closer to home each second.
And Lizzie still hadn't given him an answer.
Lizzie really, really, really wanted to be with Gordo, and would've said yes to him in an instant. But there was another part of her, the insecure part, that said, "What would people think? What if it doesn't work out between us? Will we stay friends?"
Lizzie cast a side glance at Gordo, sitting next to her, listening to a CD. She held in her swoon and settled for a wide smile instead, then turned back to her window.
Yes, she definitely wanted to be with him. And once they were alone, she would say yes.
But would they ever get to be alone?
Lizzie peeked behind her to where her parents were snoring in the seats behind her. Matt was directly across the aisle, tapping his thumbs wildly on his Gameboy.
She had to get Gordo alone somehow. She just couldn't accept to be his girlfriend in front of her parents and little brother. It would be embarrassing beyond belief. She could just imaging it...
"Gordo, I'll be your girlfriend," Lizzie would say.
Her parents would turn around like a shot and say, "What?!"
"Oh, my little baby!" her mother would coo, grasping Lizzie into a bone-crushing hug.
"Boyfriend?!" her father would say through gritted teeth, smoke nearly billowing from his ears.
"Lizzie's got a boyfriend, Lizzie's got a boyfriend," Matt would taunt, dancing around her in little circles...
"Ugh," Lizzie said, shaking the image from her mind. No, she would have to speak with him alone.
Lizzie snuck another look in Gordo's direction, and he looked back at her. They shared a secret smile and Gordo reached for Lizzie's hand.
Lizzie's face burned and she turned around to make sure her parents were sleeping.
"Gordo," she whispered. "I've decided... that... that..."
Come on, Lizzie, say it! she told herself. You can do it! YES! SAY YES!
"That I... I like you a lot, and... and..."
AND! AND...!
"And, yes, I want to be your girlfriend," she smiled.
Finally! That wasn't so hard.
Gordo beamed, and leaned closer to Lizzie. Lizzie knew exactly what to do. She pressed her lips against his gently, and gave him the sweetest kiss they had both ever had.

A/N: Aww! See, short and fluffy. What do you think? Now that I've actually written the fic, I'm thinking of possibly continuing it as an actual story. Please review!
