Everybody's Fool
Ginny slowly ascended onto the Great Hall's make-shift stage. She wore flowing green dress robes, courtesy of Fred and George Weasley. Once she reached the centre of the stage music began to fill the great expanse of the room, and she began her song;
Perfect by nature,
Icons of self indulgence,
Just what we all need,
Is more lies about a world that,
Never was and never will be
Have you no shame, don't you see me
You know you've got everybody fooled.
Look here he comes now,
Bow down and stare in wonder.
Oh, how we love you,
No flaws when you're pretending,
But now I know he,
Never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled.
With out the mask you wear, how will you hide,
Can't find yourself, lost in your lie.
I know the truth now,
I know who you are,
And I don't love you anymore,
'Cuz you never were and never will be,
You're not real and you can't save me,
But some how now you're everybody's fool.
Slowly the music in the background drifted to a stop, while the whole school stared up at the girl, who stood before them on the stage, unmoving. They just stood there shocked, they had never known this girl could sing, they'd never even heard her hum a tune, and here she still before them, a talented beauty. Shocked could be the only explanation.
Ginny, not expecting applause, or even a sound, began to speak, " I'd like to thank Harry Potter, for with out whom I'd have never had the inspiration or the drive to even sing this song."
The crowd, still unmoving, stared blankly at her as descended the stage's steps and made her way out of the hall. She had shocked them all with her talent, then with her choice of song, and now the knowledge that it had been sung for Harry Potter himself. The only word that came to mind was; "Wow"
All heads turned to Harry to gauge his reaction, but there was none. He stared blankly ahead. He had guessed the song had been for him, but he along with everyone else would have thought she'd have sung a love song. Harry had only come to realize he was in love with the girl and now, now he knew how she truly felt. What made it worse was that it was completely true. and it hurt like a bitch.
