A/N: Taken from the episode A person of interest. Review if you so desire.
Carver's Office:
"Detective, he took the cowards way out…"
Even so, that doesn't change the facts,
Croyden is dead.…
I can't explain it away with a fact or theory.
Interview room:
"…But depression, suicidal depression is, is anger turned inward…"
"I would never say anything in the front of the Captain. But"
But you'd stab me behind my back?
"Everything pointed to Croyden."
The facts, the profile, it all fit!
"You didn't listen Bobby. You didn't listen to what his wife said."
You don't understand what drove me to that.
You don't understand what I saw in that man – my father….
Following morning:
My colleagues look away, not giving me the time the day.
Eames remains silent but throws a sympathetic look my way.
"Did you get any sleep last night?" she asks like she does on any other day.
I sit and debate what to say – so I toss 'The Leger' her way.
Read the damn paper – 'Innocent man driven to suicide by ruthless and incompetent detective.'
Strip down all the double talk;
I'm (still) to blame…
Sal's Restaurant:
I could smell her perfume before she 'dangled' herself in front of me.
'Hello, Bobby. I would call you Detective Goren but…'
Her words pierced my heart like a rabid animal killing its prey…
Deakins' Office / Interrogation Room 1:
"A resourceful girl like her would have held on to her number until she needed them…"
After Eames' comment, I had to walk away.
I couldn't breath.
I couldn't let them see…that she GOT ME.
"Then let's get her back."
And that was it. No other words were exchanged.
The promise was made, (that) she WILL PAY.
