Ascension

Never in his wildest dreams did he think it was possible
as he looks down upon them
time drifts past

Friends and people change
the person he least thought Jack would accept
is now one Jack will bare to listen to
for a short space in time anyway

The people he cares about
and love have changed so much
in so little time
something he will never understand
since he has no idea how much his 'death' affected them

Too much for them to talk about
in the silence and loneliness
they can begin to understand

He misses them so much
yet he knows what he can't do
he's not willing to break the rules for the ones he loves so much

He knows they don't understand
to what it is like in another plane of existence
to have power to change things
and not be able to do anything

Deep inside of himself
he knows they are right
but there is nothing he can do about it
all they can do is talk

To watch things happen to them
and not be able to do anything
tears him up more than he'd like to think about
there is nothing he can do but warn them

That's if they listen at all
they are still thinking he's dead
in some sense they're right
in others not so

He know's they were like family
it hurts him
like it hurts them
but there is nothing he can do about it.
