Notes: Short, sweet ficlet, angsty and sappy, no idea where I got this idea from, but I did, so here it is. Enjoy and review!

The rain splashed against Duo's skin, soaking his clothes and hair, chilling him to the bone, but he was oblivious. All his attention was focused on the time.

9:03

**What if he's not coming?** he thought worriedly. **What if he changed his mind? What if I completely misread him this morning? What if he's disgusted? What if he hates me? Oh, God, please don't let him hate me, I couldn't bear it. I really need him not to hate me.**

9:05

Clutching the end of his sopping wet braid, Duo looked around at the darkness around him, desperately searching for Heero. He was late, and Heero Yuy was never late.

**Oh.... God, I screwed up seriously this time. I was such an idiot! God, what made me think that he could possibly care for me like that? It was just a stupid flippant remark with no feeling behind it whatsoever, but I.... Oh, God, I fucked up royally. And that stupid message on his cell phone is only gonna make things worse. I'm never gonna be able to face him again.**

Blushing, Duo thought back on the garbled message he'd left on Heero's voicemail an hour ago.

"Um, hi, Heero, this is Duo. Um, listen, about this morning... well, I think... oh, God, this is so hard. Heero, um, could you, like, meet me? On the bridge, at nine toniht? Please? I really need to talk to you, Heero, because I... I think... I think I love you."

**Oh, God, I can't believe I said that. I'm gonna be a laughing stock tomorrow. How could I even think that Heero loved me?**

9:08

Biting his lip, Duo looked around again, still desperately hoping to see Heero. Then he sighed, shoulders slumping.

**He's not coming. Why would he come? Shit.**

**He's never gonna speak to me again.**

**I've ruined everything.**

**I've lost him.**

Sighing, Duo turned and began to walk away, head down, feet dragging dejectedly.

Wrapped up in a little cocoon of misery and pain, Duo didn't really hear the pounding footsteps behind him. It wasn't until someone shouted his name in panic that he thought to turn around.

Heero was soaked. His Preventer's shirt was plastered to his skin, outlining his hard muscles. He was running towards Duo as fast as he could, desperately not wanting the American to leave.

**Oh, God, I'm so sorry, but don't leave, don't have changed your mind, let me explain. Please, Duo.**

Finally reaching his target, Heero wrapped his arms around him his trembling body, pulling him close.

"God, Duo, I'm so sorry, Une called me in and I couldn't get away, but I'm here now, just tell me that it's not too late, tell me you still love me, because I love you too, and I don't wanna loose you, please tell me I'm not too late."

**Please, please, please, let me be in time.**

**He... he loves me?**

**I'll do anything.**

**He said it.**

**I can't lose him.**

**He loves me.**

**Please, I love him so much.**

"Um, love, I can't breathe," Duo murmured after a while, and Heero drew away with a gasp, hope shining in his eyes.

"Don't make me wait again," Duo whispered, before capturing Heero's lips in a hot, hard kiss that caused both of them to stop breathing.

When they eventually parted, they just did that staring silently thing for a moment, emotions and thoughts whirling.

**That was-**

**Incredible. His lips are-**

**So soft. His passion-**

**So hot. Just for me.**

**He's all mine.**

**I've come home.**

**I've found home.**

Then Duo grinned, humour sparking in his eyes. "People are never gonna believe this all started over a bowl of Coco Pops."
