Eternal Pain

The night was black. All I could hear was the sound of screeching cats in the alleys, cars on the freeway and gunshots. I can hear those gunshots like it was yesterday. Maybe it was yesterday. Who knows? You can't really remember much where I am. Anyway, as I was walking on the streets I heard gunshots. Noisy, rampaging, gunshots. Then it happened. They came round the corner at the speed of light. They stopped in front of me, halted when they saw my long, black hair. A man came out. I can remember his face. Blackened by the night. He had a scar on his left cheek and a tattoo on his right elbow. It was the skull and crossbones. That marking told me what was going to happen. Then it hit me. From behind. Whilst I was staring at the tattooed man, someone had sneaked up behind me and laid a baseball bat into my head. I can't remember anything else, until I woke up that is.

When I opened my eyes a luminous beam ran all the way through my head. I looked up. Luigi looked down. With his polished suit and gold tooth. He thinks he's so cool. He raised his head and spat in my face. I lashed out at him. That was a mistake, because all five of his guards lashed back. He laughed. A big manly, macho laugh. I've rarely heard this laugh. He only does it when he's going to do something really bad. Like kill!!! I heard this laugh when he killed Romeo. That Romeo was trouble. But the things that were done to him. No one wants that to happen.

I bet you're wondering how I know this much about Luigi. You see I used to work for him. I was one of his henchmen. I did all of his dirty deeds and jobs that he was too cowardly to do. But one day I snapped. He asked me to go and murder my best friend. My friend hadn't done anything wrong. He just asked one of Luigi's girls to marry him. But oh no. Luigi didn't want one of his girls to tie the knot. This may mean she'd stop her job. Luigi being the big pimp he is decided to kill the man and his problems would go away. But my problems wouldn't. It would make me suffer killing a friend. I should have done it then though. Because now I'm going to get it. Big time.

I asked what this was about. I already knew though. Luigi just laughed at me. He knew I already knew. I was just trying to bide some time, then maybe I'd get out of it. But that wouldn't happen. Luigi had already called in for his best gun. And he got it. The black shiny case. The trigger ready to kill. He wasn't wasting time. He got it out. Raised it up. I shouted stop, stop. Why are you doing this? You wanted me to kill a friend. I couldn't do that. He laughed. Then. BANG! It hit me. Right through the heart. I had ten seconds to die. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. And now I'm here.

I bet you're wondering where here is. Well you don't get good accommodation when you lead a life of crime. You get the worst life. Eternal work. Eternal pain.
