Addiana sheathed her knife and sighed. Her mother wanted her to be this emotionless creature. But somehow, it didn't seem right. Since Sarah had left, Addiana had thought differently. Now she knew that these creatures had been changed against their wills. She shook the thoughts out of her head. Emotions had never gotten in her way before, and she didn't mean for them to get in her way now.
Addiana smoothed down her shirt to make sure her knives did not show. She walked outside to her car. But before she could reach the door handle, she felt something hit her head. "Foolish," Addiana thought, shaking the pain away, "I am not human, it won't hurt me." She turned around to see who it was, and almost cried out. "NIKOLAS?" Addiana said. "Is that you?"
"I have to talk to you," Nikolas said, "now." "I can't," Addiana said. "I can not talk to your kind. I will not break the rules of my kind." Addiana never looked Nikolas in the eyes. "It's about your sister," Nikolas said. Addiana stopped dead in her tracks. Addiana tried to gain her control. She turned slowly. "What is it," Addiana said, trying to keep her voice calm. "She's left Single Earth and we can't find her," Nikolas said.
