Juliet's Suicide
She held a dagger to her breast
Her eyes gone pale, their cold light dim
Her heart was pounding in her chest
Against icy metal, glimmering.
She could only think of him
The endless love she had confessed
Without him here, her world was grim.
She pressed the blade in, trembling.
Her bright eyes had a joyful stare
Her hair flowed dark as autumn trees
She had the youth of Hebe fair,
Her laughter bell-like, ringing.
And through the crowd her eyes did see
A divine figure standing there
She ran to him, and on bended knees,
Pledged infinite devotion, unwavering.
She loved him more than anyone
He returned her feelings, magnified.
For his Earth she was the Sun,
Their love forever growing.
But Death did stray him from her side
Her time of bliss now slain and done
She stared at where his body lied
Her soul torn to shreds, weeping.
She held a dagger to her breast
Her eyes gone pale, their cold light dim
Her heart was pounding in her chest
Against icy metal, glimmering.
She pressed the precious, sharp blade in
To from her sorrow ever rest
Her warm blood spilling over him
Red love eternal, glistening.
