Arenath snapped her eyes open with a start, wincing as the light rays reached her eyes. Her head was spinning with ridiculous images, images so realistic it was almost as though she was remembering the past with the clarity of elven thought. However, that was impossible; Balrogs, dragons, walled cities.she had never seen any of those things in her life!

Trying to sit up, Arenath stopped short as an arm curled around her waist restrained her. Where was she? Looking around, Arenath realised that she was in the middle of a forest clearing entwined with a golden figure whom she had never seen in her life before.

This was ridiculous, particularly at her age. Perhaps she could run away and bury the memory.. not that it had been unpleasant, but her face was burning with embarrassment..Grimacing at the effort, Arenath delicately pried the arm off and tried to move apart as quickly as she could.

Too quickly.

Eyelids flicked open as a pair of brilliant sapphire eyes stared at her, almost blinding in their intensity. Against her will, Arenath felt her body and mind responding.

There was no use running now.

"Hir-nin, thank you for the wonderful night. Farewell! " . Being immortal was a bloody disadvantage at times; he would have perfect recall of her face and the night before for the rest of his life. Fortunately, she did not intend to ever see him again.

Glorfindel watched in perplexity as the lady ran away as though he was a Balrog, silver hair tumbled in fine disarray. A small smile touched his lips as he recalled just how her hair had been left in that state.. But why was she fleeing?

The night before had been unusual, true, but pleasurable by any standards. Beyond which, they had mentally bonded, to an extent he had never felt before in his long years. Even now, he could feel his song reverberating with hers, the melodies of their lives entwining.he had intended to ask her name as soon as she woke to pursue the relationship.

Mentally, he could just hear what Elrond would have to say about the renowned Balrog-slayer courting a mate to which he was already mentally bonded, albeit while she was drunk and hardly in a condition to object.

But considering how long he had waited for his soul's other half, it was only fair.
