Venice - this is a little solo side project, I'm not sure where it's going,
so don't ask
The alarm clock radio started playing her CD, as it beeped at seven in the morning.
Seven am
The garbage truck beaps as it backs up
And I start my day thinking about what I've thrown away
She stumbles to the closet, trying not to think about him. But try as she might, she can't help but think about what could have been.
Could I push rewind?
The credits traverse signifying the end
But I missed the best part.
Can we please go back to start?
Bitting back at the uneasiness, the figure of Naru Narusegawa prepares for breakfast as her favorite song plays on
-Forgive my indecision-
Then again, you're always first when no one on your side
But, then again, a day will come when I want off that ride
She silently prays that today is the day, he comes back, after that horrible day one month ago.
Eleven am
By now you would think that I would be up
But my bedsheets shade the heat of choices I made
She lets the silent tears fall down her face before calming down and putting up that mask, a mask that always seemed to crack when she saw him.
And what do I find?
I never thought I could want someone so much
'cause now you're not here and I'm knee deep in that old fear.
Inside she was scared that she had ruined everything and that, had she had been more open and caring, even understanding instead of hot-headed, egotistical and selfish, maybe, maybe he'd still be here today.
-Forgive my indecision . I am only human-
Then again, you're always first when no one on your side
But, then again, a day will come when I want off that ride
She dresses as she prepares for the day. Her last day of vacation. She was going to enjoy today. She realized that she had made an irreversible mistake, but that she would have to move on.
Twelve pm and my dusty telephone rings
Heavy head up from pillow, who could it be?
I hope it's you.
She silently leaves her room, praying that she can bump into him and let him tell her how sorry she was. After all she had put him through, she would understand if he didn't stand still for a minute.
